Will someone, anyone please tell me how this place stays open, let alone why it has fans? A deal with the devil, maybe? Overpriced, mediocre food even on their best day; the staff has to have been flown in from a very unfriendly, delusionally-superior neighborhood on Mars. No food, let alone healthy food, should ever be so tasteless, bland and ineptly prepared and rudely served. Nevermore.

Low Quality Food and Service We went there for breakfast, got cold coffee, bad service and OK food. Only one omelet out of 6 dishes we ordered was fine. The service was not good and it’s not professional. It’s a bakery but we didnt receive fresh pastries. Wont go there again. Pros:Location, Casual Design Cons:Service, Food, Coffee

This place is wack on a lot of levels. Firstly, this used to be the location of a Mani’s Bakery that was affiliated with the famous«Mani’s Bakery» that is located on S. Fairfax in LA. Apparently this bakery no longer has any connection to the original and is still using their old name and apparently their old waitstaff. While I was trying to figure out why Unilocal was showing no results for this place, I happened upon the old listing for the official Mani’s that used to be at this address. What a car wreck! Apparently people had the same kinds of experiences that I had today, which means that despite the negative experiences of their customers, the new version of the old Mani’s is still totally uninterested in customer service. I get it, though. Old habits are hard to break. Why get rid of servers who ignore the customers, take their order abrasively, and generally treat them like a stranger who walked into their home demanding a chocolate chip cookie rather than a patron? As someone who has worked in retail and in a bakery/café before, it really boggles my mind when I have these experiences because I know from experience how little you must care about your job if you’re interacting with the customers this way. My particular server was too busy discussing the various merits of Prius’ to actually take my order, even when his coworker kept gently reminding him that I was waiting(thanks, girl friend). When he finally got my cookie, he didn’t take me to the register to pay(which doesn’t even make sense… who does that? How did he know I’d have correct change?), and when I paid he turned on his heel and mumbled some kind of «goodbye» under his breath as we went back to doing something more worthwhile than talking to me. This review gets 2 stars versus 1 because the cookie I bought actually was very tasty. Now if I could just cut out the middleman.
