I had gotten my frames somewhere else but they left me with a poorly adjusted fit. Dr Miller helped me out just to be nice — great doctor. Def going there moving forward!

My wife and I have been patients of Dr. Miller for a few years now. Every time we’ve gone in for an appointment, Dr. Miller and his staff have been professional, courteous, and friendly during each visit. The staff didn’t even mind watching over our infant daughter for a few minutes while we were being checked out.

I’m going to keep this as short as possible because writing this review simply reminds me of all the reasons I won’t be coming back here. The only 2 reasons this place gets any stars is because 1. The receptionist/​assistant Gabby is so sweet and helpful from the first time I stopped in. 2. I appreciate the doctors knowledge on eyes. Obviously I’m looking for a doctor who knows what he’s doing and he seemed to know a lot.
HOWEVER, I did not like
1. The SUPER HIGH prices (yeah okay it’s Santa Monica but come on)
2. I never really felt comfortable with Les he seemed like he was there to get paid and bounce. It was awkward he wasn’t very social and I just really wanted to leave. In fact I made an appointment a week in advance and got a call the day before because he had plans and couldn’t stay until 4 like I had scheduled…
3. Not a good selection on glasses
4. I asked them to fax me my prescription to me and they did not do it.
5. Quick to up sell you, regardless if you need it or not

I was in Santa Monica at a friends house and we were heading down to 3 Street Mall, I was complaining about my glasses and my eyes being so darn tired. My friend said lets make a quick stop at the place where he gets his glasses. We stopped in Optomeyes on 4^th street (great name), the people there were the best. I said I just want to look around, no pushy sales people I was just aloud to walk around, I must say I was surprised that they just let me look with my buddy. I said those are cool frames and the Doctor walked out from in back and said, «Can I help you. I told him I wanted to try on some glasses and he said then let me play salesman and help you :)… I loved them and the Doctor said to me, «You are the guy who has to wear them and I hear you, thats great. Then he continued to say they look good on you BUT they do not fit the bridge of your nose correctly and these were the kind of glasses where they are all one piece. He said, In a month or two you are going to be sorry you bought these». I laughed and said… this is the first time someone has told me NOT to buy something they had for sale… He laughed back and said I do want your sale but I don’t want you to have to come back in a few months and say. these look great but they are hurting my nose? Unfortunately I would have to say i wish there was something I could do. (Did somebody say an honest doctor… wow) We left and he said come back and spend some more time we are open till 5:00. I did come back the following week, Dr. Miller (call me Les he shared) said he just got in some frames I would like and apologized he didn’t have my number to call me and tell me. He did call my buddy and said tell your friend I may have some frames for him.
They were perfect and I mean perfect. They were $ 175 less than the other ones and this very cool Doctor fitted, examined and made my glass in just a few hours. I am not big on Unilocal or any testimonials websites but this was less that painless… I feel like I walked out of there making money and my glasses look outrageous (good). And a great side effect of the new very cool frames are I can see better too… lol. Thanks to everyone at Optomeyes you have made a new more than satisfied customer.
