Well on this amazing Sunday afternoon I wanted to enjoy a nice cold sando from perry’s. Well my friend and I had to wait 30 minutes for a New York Italian sub that was a cold sandwich — it did not need to be toasted. Did they perhaps fresh cut the meat or make a new batch of bread? I couldn’t tell you what took this so long to come out because, there was one person in line before us. No one was waiting around for their orders to ready except us. To end our experience, the sandwich was actually pretty good and it comes with homemade kettle chips — I’m not hangry… anymore.

Perry’s bike rental requires you to leave your credit card and driver’s license then they will steal your credit care information and make purchases on line even while you are bike riding. I had to get a new credit card. G.W.

Overpriced and under delivered monopolized business not happy at all. But what can you expect if the place rents most likely for 15k a month. Nice view and chill location so you pay some you loose some.

We’re eating here and I’m regretted it almost before our order was placed. They didn’t have French toast so I ordered banana pancakes. Sounded great, wasn’t at all. Very dry, with no flavor. Went back to get some syrup because the syrup it came with was disgusting. That’s the only syrup they have. Very overpriced for what you get. Will not be back.

Very disappointing and not inexpensive. Food delivery was slow, order messed up and of very poor quality. Was told the wait was due to the thickness of the burgers. That was a good one. The burgers were the thickness of a basic McDonald’s party but in this case cooked to a post apocalyptic death. Sort of a Down ‘n Out burger if you will. Other items equally disappointing with what was advertised as a Santa Monica beach icon. Can’t believe they’ve lasted 39 years.

So I was experiencing a wonderful day at the beach with friends and family — nothing better in the world. When little did I know, that the best day of my life would take a turn for the worst. This was the moment when I made the horrendous decision to eat at Perry’s. I thought that I was in for good food and service, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. I felt as if they were trying to get rid of me – which is odd since no one else was there. I waited 45 minutes for a caesar salad. They had given my order away to a random customer who didn’t even order food. When I asked if they had called my number, they blatantly lied to my face, and said that my order wasn’t ready — which was after they had already given it away. When they finally gave me another salad which was pre-made for who knows how long, I was immensely disappointed by the quality of my salad. You would think that after waiting 45 minutes, they would give me the best goddamn salad on the planet… but no. Rabbits eat better salad than what I was given. And that reminds me, I didn’t even order a caesar salad! I ordered a tostada salad with grilled chicken! How could a «restaurant» screw that up?! All in all, this was the worst day of my entire life — I will never go to the beach again.

They made us wait 30 minutes to prepare an overpriced and undersized salad. The thing was almost entirely made of cucumbers and quinoa and almost no leaf spinach as advertised. More than extremely dissatisfied. We were at the beach in Santa Monica for just a day — on vacation. While we waited, we saw several other customers get disgusted with their slow service and poor food quality. Definitely avoid.

This place has some amazing food. I love their burgers and sweet potato fries. However just yesterday I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich for the 2nd time and once again huge disappointment with the size of the chicken breast. Very small and only about 5 mm thick is definitely not enough protein for me after riding the bike for 2 hours. Hope they would give you at least two pieces of chicken, or don’t slice them in half. I will certainly buy food here again, but will stick with the burger. I don’t like to complain just want more protein! Location is great.

Perry’s seems to have monopolized the beach when it comes to rentals and convenient food. There are several Perry’s locations along the strip of the beach. I’ve been here a few times over the years. It costs $ 10/hour to rent a cruiser bike, or $ 19 for 2 hours. Perry’s also gives you a 15-minute grace period from when you start your rental time, so that’s nice. My family rented bikes for an hour and that seemed to be plenty of time. We biked down to Venice Beach, took some photos on the Pier, and stopped at a few more stops along the way. Well worth $ 10/person in my opinion. Don’t forget, CA$H ONLY!

Overpriced and not too good. Ordered a cheeseburger couple days ago. Burger and a coke was almost $ 19. For that price, you can get a pretty fabulous burger at a nice steakhouse in NYC. This burger was overcooked and dry on a stale bun. Counter-service was inattentive and dis-interested, even though I was the only customer. Next time I’m on the beach, I’ll walk a block over to Main where there are much better options. Completely disappointing.

They need some customer service training. A couple of us ordered breakfast(11:25) and 5 minutes later(11:30) they told the others in our group that breakfast ended at 11 in the rudest manner possible. The yogurt was not fresh and their attitude was not welcoming.

We enjoyed our quick stop here. The fish and chips, guacamole on chips and hot dog hit the spot. There is a good variety on the menu. Service is not fast but who cares, we on relaxing and enjoying the view.

Service was slow. Had to repeat order a couple times(grilled cheese, mahi mahi tacos and honest green tea) took a while to pay. Their phone /internet was down. The food was good but the chips Seemed stale. The prices were fair too. The seating area was nice, there’s sand and beach chairs, parasols etc. it’s odd how there are multiple Unilocal listings for this business though…

DONOTGOTOTHISHELLHOLE!!! If I could rate this negative stars, I would. First off, the women running the registers are slow and incompetent. Two people in front of me walked out of the line because we were waiting 10+ minutes for each order to be run up. Other people were asking for their money back after waiting an HOUR for their food.. and nothing! I had the unfortunate experience of ordering two simple sandwiches, and two small waters. The bill was $ 33!!! When I looked at the receipt, the woman had charged me $ 1.50 for a newspaper.. WTF!?! I had to go back in line to tell her about the mistake. Instead of crediting my card, she gave me cash back.. um, I’ve never seen legit businesses handle transactions that way. My sister and I sat down and patiently waited for our food, expecting about a 30 minute wait since they were slammed. After 45 minutes and still nothing, I got up to the counter to ask about our order.. and it turns out ITWASNEVERSUBMITTED!!! WTF? What a bunch of incompetent people! By this point, we were starving, so I too asked for my money back – like the two other people who did when I first got there. Again, for whatever reason, they have no idea how to do a credit back on a credit card, so they gave me CASHBACK. We ended up eating at a drive thru for $ 13 and it was a million times better experience than this hell whole. Don’t waste your time here!!! They have 60+ items on their menu for a tiny beach kitchen, when they should have about 10. No wonder they are so slow and clueless.

Had a Veggie Garden Burger. Was Delicious. Also eating it while on the Beach was Perfect. Pricy but worth the money to me. Will eat here again.

Waited exactly 25 minutes for a slice of pizza that I found out was sitting under a hot lamp the whole time anyway. I’m actually impressed by this place’s indifference to its own existence. Needless to say, there won’t be a return trip.

OK — Let’s face it — NOBODY goes to Perry’s for the food. I mean, come on! $ 4 for a cup of Coke? That’s a bit steep. And the food is only passable if you’re really hungry. But it beats the hell out of brushing off the sand and hopping in your car, driving to a real restaurant(or even a Burger King) and then having to come back and pay for beach parking again! So why do people eat at Perry’s? It’s simple, really. It’s convenient –as hell unless you’re done with the beach for the day, and it’s a great place to hang out and people watch! Really, the people watching is worth a couple of the $ 4 Cokes! I mean it’s right on the boardwalk and you have front row seats for the tattoo, rollerblading, Segway-riding, cyclist and freak show parade. I can stay for hours! The food is –3 stars and the location is 5 stars thus giving Perry’s a solid 2 stars!

Perry’s on the beach in Santa Monica has been there as long as I can remember. This visit to LA, I was visiting a friend and I was struck at what a fantastic and convenient spot it is to plan some impromptu beach time. At Perry’s you are right on Santa Monica beach with a direct view to the waves, palm trees and a lifeguard tower. There is a parking lot nearby and its easy to park, pay and it’s right over to Perry’s to take off your flip flops and put your toes into the sand. Perry’s has mostly fast food and mediocre smoothies, but what they really have is some easy to access prime beach real estate, white plastic beach chairs, umbrellas, tables and a spot that is literally perfect for someone who wants easy access the beach without having a full beach day. Perry’s has bike rentals for the active lifestyle, but importantly, even with someone who might normally have limited access to the beach, say in a wheelchair or with a walker, Perry’s has a nearby lot, a short paved road to access the beach, and is a very easy spot to put your toes in the sand. Perfect to bring your grandma or aunt to get her out and about and enjoying the LA sunshine with very little cost and effort.

Back story: The mother hasn’t had many chances to ride bikes, so I wanted to take her to my favorite bike trail in LA. Didn’t think she could handle riding by herself, so we rented a tandem from Perry’s near Lot 7 for the bf and the mother, and off we went on our beach cruise. About 2 minutes into our ride, I decided my mom’s inaugural bike journey should be documented. Against my better judgment, I started recording a video of them riding along the beach. Soon after that – 8 seconds to be exact(it’s on video!) – my face was planted in the pavement, blood oozing from my hands and knees. Fast forward to later, we lugged the tandem back to Perry’s hoping for a refund, as I was unable to continue riding. Unfortunately, we barely missed their 15 minute grace period for refunds(we were gone for 20 mins). The employee(Tom Ray) and his supervisor(Jonathan Flores) refused to understand that the time we were away was mostly spent frantically running around looking for band aids, not happily cruising the shore. Lesson: «It takes 20 years to build a reputation and 5 minutes to ruin it.» – Warren Buffet Is it Perry’s fault I was injured? Absolutely not. However, their customer service mishandled the situation and should have made a circumstantial exception. Instead, Perry’s will lose 3 customers for life. And hopefully, your patronage as well. Oh, and don’t ride your bike one-handed. Epilogue: Yes, I have recovered, and no, the video is NOT on YouTube.

They have an easy access service for bike rentals on the beach, I don’t even use their café. When I come to Santa Monica for a bike ride along the beach, I come here to rent their bikes. The bikes here are decent, although at times feel a little worn but that doesn’t stop me from enjoying my cruise on the bike paths here. $ 10.00 per hour for a standard bike is a bit pricey for me. You always have options to choose other types of bikes but rates are even more. Also you can rent bikes for a full day. Make sure you have a credit card and drivers license handy because it is required before rollout, with that you will fill out a form. When you are done with your ride you pay afterwards. Service here is okay. Now for the ladies you can have a basket attached to your bike to hold your Louie Vuittons.
