I’ve been coming here for years now, and I love it every time. I don’t live in LA anymore, but I come here every time I visit. Delicious food and great atmosphere.

After reading the reviews I was excited about trying this little place for breakfast while back in my hometown. It was quiet… just a few people so sat wherever we wanted. Service was exceptional but very slow. We ordered 2 mocha cappuccinos which were okay. large cup but half filled with foam… so MAYBE a slight 8 oz of drink for $ 5. Waiter was kind enough to fill our cups with regular coffee at no charge, tho. I ordered the eggs florentine and my husband, an omelet. His was okay but mine was SO bland. Desperately needed seasoning… even salt, pepper & tobasco didn’t do much. Potatoes were cold and dry. too bad cuz the flavor was good. I was a restaurant owner for 20 years and I guess I’m just too judgmental. Prices were a bit high in my opinion but need to remember where it’s located. Hope you all have a better experience. I won’t be going back.

2 stars for the waitstaff. Zero stars for the food. We were stuck literally out in the parking lot at a table and completely forgotten about! When the food did come the order wasn’t right and the food was ice cold. Lousy coffee added to the experience.

Cosy little daisy café that caught my attention when I drove by. Parking lot was really small with limited lots but if you’re lucky, just drive in! Had a cup of blended mocha frapp, and a plate of carbonara pasta that keeps my belly happy for the day. Great place to have lunch, they have 3 sections that you can choose to sit, indoor, outdoor, patio area. Service is great too! Will be back.

The vibe with the food is a very nice mix. With the right expectations, going for a breakfast or lunch can set for a great time and meal. The quality is fresh. I usually order the gourmet burgers which are enjoyable. Staff are great!

Had the waffle special breakfast. Ordered extra bacon and asked for blackberries on my waffle. Also got coffee. Coffee is meh, kinda watered down tasting and weak. But hey it’s refilled often enough. Waffle is ok. Berries are sparse and I got 4 blackberries on top for which I was charged $ 1.25. Not sure how I feel about that. Bacon was bad, avoid the bacon. It’s cheap and greasy tasting. Scrambled eggs were scrambled. Nothing remarkable. Seating outside is cozy but nice when the weather is good. Cost me $ 20 for it all. A bit pricey for the portion and quality. So I think I’ll pass on coming back.

I ordered a chicken quesadilla for a quick snack today and was disappointed. The potatoes were cold and flavorless. The quesadilla was just meh. Urth Caffé’s quesadillas are way better. On top of that it was $ 13! Never again!

The Lazy Daisy café is SO delicious! I’ve had the grilled chicken pasta and the Lazy Daisy chicken sandwich, and both are cooked to PERFECTION. I’m so excited about this place, I’m still sitting here writing this while sipping on my iced coffee and ignoring my boyfriend while writing about how awesome this place is. You HAVE to try anything with grilled chicken in it. They marinate it and pound it thin so it’s not a huge hunk of chicken, and they even season and grill the bread(with what I think is paprika?) Potatoes are delish. Parking is a little tricky, but well worth the struggle to enjoy the food they have to offer. Decent wait times – not too slow of service, but it doesn’t come out right away(definitely a place to visit when you have more Time than less.) Five stars for Lazy Daisy!

I try to come here because it’s a small business and it’s near my work, but the food is subpar for the cost. Over $ 20 for a lox bagel and small side salad?!? I tried to cancel my side salad as soon as they told me my total(I was ordering to go), but they said it was too late because the order was already sent to the kitchen. So nope, I’m never coming back here again.

Very cozy. Ideal for a date with a spouse or someone you don’t mind actually having to talk to. My wife and I love this place because we can actually sit there, have a coffee and talk without the hustle and bustle of s large restaurant. Average price, above average ambiance. Go for breakfast on a random weekday. Thank me later.

Needed something to eat last minute. Drove by and it looked like a nice spot. Saw it had a few stars so figured it was safe. Grill cheese on sourdough…$ 8.95 bland French fries… ok Can of Sprite $ 2.25 really? Safe to say I won’t be back.

My boyfriend and I decided to have breakfast here on Friday. It was both our first time here and we loved it!!! I’m not really a pancake eater but I decided to try their buttermilk pancakes topped with strawberries and they were delicious: D Definitely coming back to try other foods on their menu!

On a nice day(which is most days here), Lazy Daisy Café offers a lovely venue for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and early dinner. I had the chilaquiles with scrambled eggs and black beans and café latte for brunch and my husband had the scrambled eggs, bacon, and an English muffin. The eggs were a tad overdone for my taste, although my husband liked his the way they were. The food was not super hot, from either a temperature, or in the case of the chilaquiles, spiciness point of view. Unlike the average food, the latte was excellent. They use organic coffee here and the latte was in a nice big cup with lots of silky foamy milk. Pleasant café if you want to sit outside in this neighborhood. The staff is excellent.

I’ve eaten here twice before and the food and customer service is unparalleled. Parking isn’t the best but who has awesome parking in Santa Monica? it’s locally situated so an über, lyft, bike or walk will get you to this hole in the wall food heaven. This place is so good, they have a place in my phone book. Keep being awesome Lazy Daisy

I went on a Saturday afternoon before heading out of LA. They sat us right away and took our order as soon as they saw we were ready! I had the breakfast burrito and it was delicious. Would defiantly go back. Looking forward to trying some other things on their huge menu! Iced Coffee was real good as well. Parking lot is a little tight but I had no problem finding street parking right across the street.

parking: if your lucky you will find parking in their private lots, but its really small. However, I usually park across the street at a park. I believe it’s free parking. Or you can find street parking, just make sure you read the signs because some areas are permit parking. Location: I love this restaurant, its soo cute because they have out door seating. Pro’s; outdoor seating, fresh air, love how its cover a bush. Con’s; maybe not good in cold weather or rainy(of course), their restroom is behind the restaurant and you need a key. I came for breakfast and it get crowded. I think this place is good for breakfast and lunch. Food does take a while. I wouldn’t recommend coming here starving. Once the food arrives the food is pretty good. I have very little interaction with staff. Overall very relaxing, specifically after my morning hike. Check out my food Instagram page at @FOODGURULA

I had driven by Lazy Daisy frequently but never stopped in as there is not good parking there or nearby. Today I tried for a late breakfast about 1:45pm, and was able to land a spot. Sat inside, most of the help was okay but not very outgoing. Menu is huge, like eight very large pages with tons of item, much more than a 40-seat neighborhood diner needs to be successful. I opted for a Waffle combo and a cappuccino. Did not get the waitress’s name, but she was a taller, dark haired lovely either hispanic or asian with a nice smile and quite pleasant. Pros: Eggs cooked exactly right — over medium; and, a very nice waitress Cons: Waffle only average, bacon had uncooked portions, strawberries were not ripe, cappuccino had an odd flavor, parking lot is tight, loud chatter in Spanish from the kitchen can be heard outside. I was hoping this would be a lovely neighborhood café I could enthusiastically call my ‘spot’, but the general vibe didn’t quite resonate. Would I go back? Yes, but not with much anticipatory joy. I wanted to like it more than I was able to like it.

Sometimes, you just need a nice breakfast, a book or magazine, a cup of coffee, and your own space. The Lazy Daisy was there for me… and I enjoyed it. Nestled along Pico in a more commercial area of Santa Monica the café offers some pretty standard fare breakfast/brunch options(and since I’ve never tried lunch there, I’m really only vouching for breakfast). I stopped in while my gf had some doctors visits up the street. Got some coffee, cracked open my golf magazine, and ordered a breakfast burrito and a side of breakfast potatoes. — Not sure why my burrito came with toast. I didn’t ask for it… seemed like a waste. — Potatoes were a little cold and mushy… not sure if they were made that day or a few weeks ago ;-( — The burrito had all the components, bacon and sausage, piping hot egg, salsa, avo,(hey more potatoes), sautéed peppers, and even though I asked for no cheese, it has cheese… It was alright, an honest, no frills, not stressful, quiet breakfast by myself outside. The place was quiet, so I was pleased to not be bothered. The service was pretty good, the price was cheap. A-Okay pretty much sums it up. They’re not blowing me away with anything special, but I wouldn’t say it was a poor experience… so…aaaaaa-okay. ENJOY!

Took them 20 minutes to greet me and take my drink order. Another 20 minutes for my food. Needless to say the service was terrible. The orange juice was not fresh. Tasted like frozen orange juice concentrate you mix with water. My breakfast burrito wasn’t good either — the turkey bacon wasn’t fresh, definitely frozen. I won’t be coming back here again.

Stopped in to this lovely neighborhood café to grab a bite and a respite after a gig at Santa Monica College and the food and service are exceptional! Got the signature Lazy Daisy chicken sandwich and a nice cup of coffee and I’m good to go on my way! I love that they have olive bread as a choice. It really gave the sandwich an extra level of tastiness. Also love that it comes with potatoes and a side salad. Yum! Whatever problems other folks had with the service, I didn’t experience. Everyone was nice and attentive. my server Ana was lovely and helpful. I’ll definitely return and would recommend this place.

While the food is okay, the service is terrible. We actually sat inside because afer a fifteen minute wait that’s all that was available. Beside being very stuffy and hot, the service was unusually slow and everything seemed very sticky. We just ate regular bacon, eggs and toast and it took over 40 minutes to get. With all of the other great breakfast places in this city, it’s just meh!

The Lazy Daisy is a cute little place to have breakfast or brunch. I came here with my boyfriend and we had eggs and toast. I kind of wished they had hash but they didn’t. Their orange juice was fresh and sweet-tasting. Their chocolate chip pancakes were really yummy. The portions are quite big and are ideal if you want to share. I want to try the French toast next. It looks so good. Parking can be a hassle. They have a pretty small parking lot. Our server didn’t ask which pancakes I wanted and left after I told him what I want to order. My boyfriend had to run after him to tell him that we wanted chocolate chip pancakes.

I have been wanting to try this little spot for a while now. My boyfriend lives right across the street so I don’t know how we’ve been passing this place! I love the outdoors-y café type atmosphere. Perfect for breakfast/brunch! I ordered the french toast plate(comes with eggs and choice of bacon or sausage). I love how they have the option to also get turkey bacon or turkey sausage! My boyfriend got the breakfast burrito with potatoes and fruit. The breakfast burrito was huge! They give a generous portion of avocado on top of the burrito which is something I always look for. Both dishes were good and reminded of home and family breakfasts. I don’t need high class breakfast/brunch spots all the time, it’s nice to have something that’s traditional but still delicious! The staff was so friendly and kept making sure our coffees were filled and our bellies were happy!

Six years since I was here.* Couldn’t find parking near my usual Santa Monica dining destinations. Although recalling a three star experience, I took an empty space in The Lazy Daisy’s free lot to be a sign; pulled in with a bit of hesitation as pulling out requires a backup into 23RD Street traffic. Meters on Pico are safer. Or, if you’re gutsy, in Virginia Avenue Park’s lot where you can leave your ride for free but that’s if you’re at the Pico Library or enjoying the grounds and no one of authority spies you crossing the street. Six years ago, fairly new to Unilocal,I held my nutrition Nazi zeal close, ordered something a chef would cringe to prepare, no-salt-no-oil-no-cholesterol-egg-white-something-or-other, it’s detailed in my previous review if you have time to read. Since then I’ve mellowed and allow myself whatever I want as long as it’s in moderation, even fully fatted ice cream! Thank you Unilocal for freeing me! AND the best part is I’ve actually lost weight by giving myself permission to indulge! So, back to The Lazy Daisy, there on the board I spied the Chef’s Specials, zeroing in on the Veggie Quesadilla loaded with peppers, avocado, onions, and cheese. Yes, please. Overcast, chilly, I chose the tiny dining area inside; in better weather pick the patio. Attentive, pleasant staff took my order, brought a huge lemon infused water to sip as I struggled to check in on Unilocal.About the same time my food arrived I was successful by locating my original review. Dish was not what I expected. It was beautifully plated and HUGE, enough to share. The salad alone was at least two, if not more, cups of lightly dressed lettuce, including my fave baby beet greens, fresh cucumber and carrot. Chili powdered roasted potatoes on the side. Scarfed the salad as I knew it wouldn’t keep, took half the quesadilla for dinner, it didn’t disappoint even cold, «food made with love» as my server said. Definitely a dine worthy of an update AND upgrade! *More updates to come as we’re already in a pre-Mercury retrograde phase:

After spending some time at Virginia Park, we decided to walk across the street and grab some lunch. Overall I’d say the food was okay. Nothing blew us away, but the food was decent. Felt a bit overpriced for what you were getting. We also had a group of 6 so it was hard for them to seat us all together. Smoothies are good, variety of combinations available. I got the half sandwich, half soup(also comes with a small salad and potatoes). Soup of the day was vegetable and it was pretty bland. The chicken sandwich, however, was pretty tasty, and I wish I had just ordered a whole sandwich instead. Maybe we’ll try their breakfast items instead if we go back. The majority of the seating is outdoor patio style. They put up screen/tents, perhaps to try to detract from the cars whizzing by on Pico. There’s a small indoor seating area. Parking is convenient since they have a private lot.
