Very social bar atmosphere but the beer menu is pretty limited. Since they call this an Alehouse I thought there would be more options.

i went here for Dinner with my officemates, food was good. this place is mainly a bar as they serve a lot of different kinds of beers and wines, my friends tried out different kinds of beer, i would never have come here as i am allergic to alcohol but my friends say that the food was great and they were right. it seems like the main reason people come here is to chill and enjoy beer. service was good and friendly. would i recommend this place? if you like to try out different kinds of beer, yes(this is based on my friend’s opinion)

I’m definitely going back here. The food was excellent! I had a burger, was awesome. Also had about the best cider I’ve had in a long long time. It wasn’t too sweet… too bad I forgot the name of it! The ambiance is cozy and good for dates… even a first date would be well suited here. We sat outside, and it was actually pretty quiet and emptied out early even on a Sunday night. I’m going to come back here for sure!

It doesn’t get much better than the Alehouse Burger. It is one of the best if not the best burger I have ever had! So good!

Great place! My husband and I came here for lunch on a Friday afternoon. We didn’t know what to expect since we are not Santa Monica locals– We are city peeps and BIGTIME foodies! Anyway, as we were waiting for our lunch we were immediately served chips and salsa(which was yummy) and then we ordered our food. My husband ordered fish and chips. I ordered a turkey burger with straight fries(they have 3 types of fries). As we waited for our food to arrive, we couldn’t help but listen to their music selection. They were playing the BESTHIPHOP music ever– tribe called quest, wu tang clan, mobb deep, i can go on and on. We loved the entire vibe of this restaurant: 1) The food was GREAT! 2) their music was on point 3) patio seating in the back had the perfect amount of sun and shade and 4) they have vegetarian options. This is a casual place without the Santa Monica preppiness. The only reason i didn’t give this restaurant 5 stars is because our waitress was kind of flat in terms of her mood. However, she was still very nice and attentive to our needs. With that being said, we will definitely be back!

Found this place after a few Unilocal searches(You da bomb Unilocal) and the place was chill! Came with my boo and we had a few dranks and the SLIDERS!(they are delicious by the way! Lamb, Beef n BBQ Pork) They had a huge chalk board with beers that were 50% off, with a big selection. I personally had the Julian AppleCider, bae had the Pilsner. BOTH drinks were tasty and delivered in a timely manner! This place is not very close to me but it was a great place to check out and hang out in on a weekend night!

One word – Pliny! They usually have at least one Pliny on draft, sometimes two. Besides the great craft beer selection add friendly service and decent food along with being extremely dog friendly means we drop by anytime we are remotely close by.

Cute bar with tons of beer options and a lot more burger and food options than other bars I’ve been to. Pretty good place to have a group but make RSVP ahead of time. The place can get pretty busy. Their food is delicious. I’ve had their alehouse burger, bison burger and several appetisers. Service is wonderful. We had a mix up on our order once and our server apologized with a dessert on the house. Verdict: a definite yes when I want burger and beer when I’m in the area

A great atmosphere to grab lunch with some friends… Even though it looks small inside, they have a decent size patio area in back. The menu is big, there is lots to choose from – everything from salads to sandwiches to burgers to tacos. They have lots of options for vegetarians or pescatarians and meat eaters alike. I ended up getting a salad and subbing salmon for chicken – the piece of salmon was a big portion, seasoned nicely, and cooked perfectly! The roasted chicken is also very good! I was very satisfied afterwards… They also give you complimentary chips and salsa to munch on, so that was nice, too.

Salads are amazing!!! My husband had a steak salad and I had the Main Street salad and we were both extremely happy with the size and flavor. This place is super cute, has a court yard in the back and the menu is full of healthy options. I guess the beer selection is good too(according to my expert husband) but I’m not that into beer… The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars is because our server forgot about us a couple of times and we didn’t see her for a while. Would totally come back for the food

Merely based on the fact that they serve complimentary chips and salsa is enough for me to give The Library Alehouse four stars. Particularly because I wasn’t even expecting a brewpub to serve any. You can serve me and my girlfriend a few baskets and we’d be happy — as long as the salsa isn’t whack, you’d think restaurants can’t mess up chips and salsa but they do exist. On the day of my visit they had the Laker game on, one of Kobe’s last few games. So watching my all-time favorite player do work while I sipped on a Pliny the Elder IPA was a great way to end a day in the area. There’s a full on food menu, an impressive tap list, and the service was genial. I mention the service because I was appreciative of the fact that I didn’t get the stink eye when I asked for another basket of chips and salsa, which tends to happen sometimes. The staff member who I asked did it with a smile and even shared a few words with me about the game. Bring me chips and cheer for Kobe along with me? I’ll definitely remember that. Good stop on Main!

The place is pretty chill! Lots of beer to choose from. The place is relatively small, so it can get crowded on the weekends. Parking is all metered parking, and a couple lots.

Honestly like the location and the vibe but my server was very unprofessional and disrespectful, I guess she had a bad day, well I do to sometimes as everyone else… but don’t bring it on your customers Decent food, better beer

Went on a Sunday afternoon w family to try out their brunch menu. The breakfast side looked good but I was in the mood for a burger. All prices are b/w 13 – 17 for a burger. Depending how fancy you wanna get. I got the Ale House Burger which I ordered medium well w curly fries and of course Sangria! The burger was juicy with a lot of flavor and the fries were aiight. The sangria was ok. We sat in the patio were they have the heaters but it was such a nice day that it wasn’t needed. It got pretty noisy as the time passed with more people coming and going but didn’t bother me. Our server was Andrew who was super polite and attentive. My mom had a total crush on him which was super cute! But his service was exceptional! You should ask for him. Good day good food!

Today was a windy Sunday, and without a destination in mind, I decided to park on Main Street and see which restaurant would caught my eyes. We stumbled upon this place and liked what we saw on the menu, so decided to give it a try. We were seated right away in the back patio, but since it was really windy, the entire place was very loud. But they do have a patio cover, so there weren’t any leaves or hair flying problems. The service was great, and that’s why I gave it a 4 instead of a 3! We were served with water and salsa chips(complimentary) soon after we were seated. As for the food, we went with the ale house Benedict and breakfast pasta. Overall, I thought the food was just okay, but would love to try their mimosas or beer if I ever stop by again.

Good location on Main Street, comfortable setting, and large seating areas(in the front and an enclosed seating area in back with heat lamps). Great choices on the menu at reasonable prices plus plenty of beer and wine options. Complimentary chips and salsa are provided to your table when you arrive. The abundant bowl of salsa was very thin(not chunky) and mild-medium in the spicy department. The chips were good, but perhaps needed salt for more taste. The order of Beer Battered Onion Rings on the Chalkboard was plentiful, easy to bite into and break, and served with ramekins of ketchup, BBQ sauce, and ranch. Not that impressive, but good. The Alehouse Burger with prime beef, melted onions, Gorgonzola, arugula, garlic, aioli, and a brioche bun wasn’t my style. It was cooked perfectly, large, and the soft-ish brioche bun was a great addition. The Gorgonzola opened your eyes wide, and didn’t(in my opinion) add a great flavor. I wanted to try their signature burger, but I should have just gotten their All American, which is a non-fancy burger with a patty, lettuce, tomato, onion, cheddar, thousand island, and a brioche bun. Again, the burger was prepared perfectly, but I wasn’t a fan of that one burger, but really liked the location.

Good food, better beer, hard to grab a spot if you’re just coming for a drink(you must thing of that) .Stopping in at Library Alehouse you’ll likely be pleasantly surprised by both the quality of the food and the atmosphere. Though not visible from the street the main dining area is actually a patio at the back of the restaurant which is both pleasantly airy and small enough to still be rather intimate. Most everything on the menu is above average from the Fried Chicken(allow a bit of extra time to cook) to the various burger options, Excellent place for lunch!

Charming and quaint ale house… Seems a bit dim, crowded, and like a bar with food when you frost walk in. didn’t even realize there was a back area at first… Covered but still semi open air patio exists in the back and is the perfect place to have lunch and a beer. Great light and many tables with enough space in between that it isn’t cramped, but isn’t empty space. So many options for beer that I couldn’t pick anything to order in under 4 minutes… Lots of specialties written on the wall and an abundance of taps. Such a variety of food for a bar and everything ordered was enjoyed and finished. The staff was so friendly and had nothing but suggestions, pairings, and approval for beer and food choices. 100% coming back and bringing more friends

Yesterday, we watched the Dodgers game while enjoying happy hour at The Library Alehouse. While the game didn’t end the way we wanted, the food and drinks were on point. We had the wings, sliders and a couple of beers. The food was tasty and the beers were great as well — all for a reasonable price. The service was also exceptional, as our waitress remembered and then helped us move our food, drinks and personal items over to a better table when it became available. I enjoyed the atmosphere and would definitely come back.

If your time on Unilocal says you’re open till 12 am, why would you force people to pound their beers at 11pm because you want to close an hour early. It’s both misleading and dangerous to make patrons rush when you’re claiming to be open until midnight. Or why not attempt to manage the time stated on Unilocal? Awful experience at a bar I normally have a good time at. I guess I should have just shown up far earlier.

Wasn’t impressed with the food at all. Gave this place a second chance and visited the second time but it is not worth coming back. Food is just mediocre. Served chips and salsa sauce. The more you eat, the spicier the salsa sauce gets. 7⁄10 Fish and chips is wasn’t great. The outside of the fish is not crispy, sweet potato fries is not crispy too. 6⁄10 Kale Salad is not bad, generous portion, crunchy, refreshing. 7⁄10 Beef burger wasn’t great. It has goat cheese which is too overpowering. Burger is not as juicy and tasty. 5⁄10 Vegetable curry is actually sweet curry. The broccoli taste weird, it’s soggy and not crunchy. But overall taste is ok. 6.5÷10

According to my friend, this place has an amazing selection of craft beers. 4 of us shared two flights. It was perfect because I got to try 8 different beers without having to drink much(I’m not a big beer drinker). And I thought they gave us a significant amount. I didn’t get any food though because I wasn’t hungry and none of it really appealed to me. However I did try some of my friend’s and it tasted okay, not particularly great or anything. And probably not worth the price. This place is great if you want to enjoy a variety of craft beers and a cool atmosphere(we sat outside and it was a perfect day). However, since I don’t really like beer and wasn’t interested in the food, this place isn’t really my scene.
