This is a long overdue review as I’ve been coming here for a while! Delicious food and fabulous service! It’s hard to make up my mind when placing an order… everything is always good nom nom nom nom. The upbeat vibe makes you relaxed and have a real good time. Super friendly/professional staff.

This is still a siren song for me… every time I am in the area it’s so hard to pass The Misfit by… while normally I can’t be deterred from my favorite steak salad, this time I shared the kale salad, and the chicken sandwich and the ahi tuna sandwich. I have to say that I could eat the whole kale salad by myself maybe every day or at least several times weekly and never tire of it. I have literally had it every time I come here. The ahi tuna sandwich was solid but didn’t particularly move me. The chicken sandwich though, was another matter entirely and left me drooling. I couldn’t stop raving about it. I can’t believe it took me so long to try it. It doesn’t sound like much on the menu description, but the waitress said that they are known for this. Goodness gracious, now that I know, I feel like I have entered a secret club that keeps the best chicken sandwiches to themselves. Top this off by the complimentary salty chocolate chip cookie that comes around after the meal, and you’re golden.

This place is amazing. The food is absolutely fantastic. We had the avocado toast and then followed up by the prime rib nik nik(dip). Can’t wait to return real soon!

We have been going here since the place opened. Maybe 5 years now? Time flies. What keeps us coming back is the combination of great service, delicious food, well mixed drinks and the location is easy to get to. After coming back over and over It’s obvious to see that management here really cares and is invested in everything from who they hire to the offerings on the menu. Some of my favorite plates are the Prime Rib Knick Knacks, the Misfit Burger, and of course the Mac and Cheese(which is gluten free!!) And we order the Brussel Spouts or Kale salad just about every time we go. The portions are not huge, so if you’ve got a group of people gathering you could almost order Tapas style and share. My girlfriend and I usually split 3 plates and leave well fed.

Luckily for us, We did not have to wait at all. Feeling like we «fit in» while sippin’ on a pitcher of Sangria for happy hour at The Misfits Restaurant. Beautiful ambiance with creative health conscious food from local farmers markets. Had the Crispy Chicken Sandwich, House Cured Salmon on Toast, and Avocado Toast! HIGHLY recommend the Crispy Chicken Sandwich.(The waitress recommended it to me as one of the best selling items on the menu) At first I was a little hesitant because. I mean its just a chicken sandwich… how great could it possibly be… BUT And I could totally understand why it was a best seller. The cole slaw, to the breading of the chicken, to the flavor… was AMAZINGLYDELICIOUS. The pitcher of Sangria and beautiful to look at as it was delectable to drink. I loved picking out the apples that were submerged within the wine and eating them separately. :P The best part was that when you pay your bill, they came by with free freshly baked chocolate oatmeal seasalt cookies that just topped off the meal. I took just one to be polite and the waitress was like«TAKEMORE, take as many cookies as you want, take one togo!» So I did hahahaha. Pretty much their service is more than amazing.

I thought that the food here was good, but just a little too greasy for my taste. I left feeling so heavy:/ The croissant= amazing! Love the butter and berry jam! Avocado toast– love love love the combo of tomatoes and grapes and burrata but the bread itself is drenched in oil/butter… The spaghetti squash with brown butter– greasy/heavy! I should have expected it Fried chicken– good and HUGE portion Overall, a great place if you don’t mind a little bit of grease and oil. Definitely not where you want to go if you want a light healthy meal. Went on Saturday morning and apparently it was happy hour! Sadly I was hungover-_– good service and super cute inside and can sit outside too!

Caught an awesome little brunch at Misfit with a friend last weekend. While the space is a little dark for me(especially when it is so beautiful outside), the food itself was pretty good. I liked the menu because it had a few atypical items that can spice up your breakfast from the boring traditional offerings you see other places. We shared four dishes and I pretty much had to roll out of there. Solid Bloody as well. I don’t know what other breakfast places are like here, but for brunch this is a good option in Santa Monica.

One of my go to places in Santa Monica. They have good food, good drinks, and good ambiance. I’ve been here several times now, and my favorites: mac n cheese, and kale and quinoa salad. The mac n cheese is super cheesy and has peppers in it for an extra kick. So if you like spicy things, this is definitely for you! You can also add chorizo if you want. The portions look a little small/manageable, until you dig into it… after eating ravenously, you realize you’ve only eaten your way through MAYBE half of it. So its size is pretty deceiving/it’s just really filling. The kale salad is heavenly. It’s delicious and you feel healthy/good about yourself too(especially after that mac n cheese). The salad is probably the best salad I’ve ever tasted, and the addition of red bell pepper, quinoa, and pumpkin seeds are on point. The kale is also nicely shredded so you can look composed when eating your salad and you don’t feel like you’re eating awkwardly large pieces of leaves. Also, the fries are pretty good. They have skinny fries that aren’t too oily and still crispy too. I’ve almost always gotten the sangria here. They also have some other really good/fruity drinks, which I love! The inside is beautifully decorated. The bar area is really pretty, just like most of the restaurant. I mean just look at the pictures. And they have upstairs seating, which is pretty cool cause you get a nice view of the entire restaurant. They also have outdoor seating, perfect for beautiful Santa Monica days. There’s also heating lamps so you can sit outdoors at night and not freeze!

Oh, The Misfit. I’ve fallen in love with your food all over again! I first discovered this place over three years ago. When I moved to LA, I was most excited about being close to what I had dubbed as my favorite restaurant. My mistake: ordering the same things. In the span of a few years, things had changed. The corn had lost its wow factor(and I noticed on my most recent visit, it’s not even on the menu anymore). The mac ‘n cheese, while great, is still just mac ‘n cheese. The«vibe» of this place is still every bit as cool, but the food is what took it over the top for me years ago. But NOW, now, I’ve rediscovered why I used to call The Misfit my favorite restaurant. The avocado toast? Oh my god I didn’t know toast could taste so good. It’s something so trendy right now but man, The Misfit knocks it out of the park. As soon as I tasted it, I wanted to order more. The kimchi fried rice is this cool, spicy, tangy version of the classic Asian fried rice. It’s so different, yet so so good. My friend and I got four dishes to share, and it ended up being the perfect amount of food(although to be honest we totally could have done just three). Service was a little spotty, with my friend’s main dish arriving a solid 10 minutes before anything else. But our waitress,(Leshay?) was totally awesome. She helped guide us to the really good stuff on the menu, and being adventurous with the food totally paid off. It’s basically all because of her recommendations that I’ve come to love this place again! If you’re in Santa Monica, you absolutely have to check out The Misfit. If you’re in LA, I’d dare say it’s even worth the drive. It’s an amazing atmosphere, just minutes from the pier, and the food is among the best I’ve ever had.

Came here for their barfly special, which is M-F open to 4pm. You have to be seated at the bar get these specials. They have a different $ 5 dollar item M-F and their $ 11 cocktails are only $ 6 when you’re seated at the bar. Get their early, there’s NOHOLDINGSEATS! We got the seared ahi burger(you can get it leaf style if you’re low-carbing it), spaghetti squash and some french fries. The ahi burger came out a bit well done, we just wanted to notifiy the staff, but they insisted sending out new ones that were were perfectly seared. So that was real nice of them. The ahi burger was quite tasty. The plate of french fries is massive you could probalby split that between 3 people if you wanted to. The star of the show was surprisingly the spaghetti squash! The strands were perfectly cooked, not mushy and over cooked or too stringy cause its under cooked. The spaghetti squash was cooked together with some japanese shishito peppers and there was also some sunflower seeds in the dish. The dish was rich and buttery, the shisito peppers and sunflower seeds gave it some nice zing and some well needed crunch. SOGOOOOD. The drinks were expertly crafted, with generous pours. I especially enjoyed the Clocktower Manhattan and the Jumping Jack Flash, Great food and drinks, great atmosphere and great staff. I’m definitely coming back. DATSPAGHETTISQUASHDOE…

Had such an amazing dinner here with the family. We ordered what felt like the entire menu and not a single thing was disappointing. Our waitress was awesome, the drinks were incredible(and the happy hour deals are amazing) and every bit of food was perfect. My favorites were the mac and cheese and the cauliflower. The brussels sprouts were good too, as was the fried chicken sandwich. We all shared a bunch of small plates and ended up too full for dessert. Come here when you want darn good interesting comfort food.

It’s more of a restaurant than a bar and the atmosphere was really nice. DON’T GET the kimchi fried rice… it was really salty and does not taste like kimchi friend rice. The fries and potatoes were good so get that instead.

We ordered the Avocado Toast to start. I’m fairly certain that I went to paradise with every bite. The boyfriend got the Lobster Nik Niks, and I got the Mussels for the two of us to share. It wasn’t a lot of food, but we were planning on pigging out on junk food at pier anyway, so it worked out. I have one word for the experience I had with the Lobster Nik Niks. Sublime. It was so good, the boyfriend almost didn’t share with me at all. Honestly, I would have understood his decision and done the same to him. Fortunately he shared, and my taste buds thank him. It comes in a cute little platter of three with perfectly fried lobster on Hawaiian rolls with a side of sauce that I’ve taken to just calling«awesome sauce» it also came with two little slices of homemade pickles that were amazing too. The mussels were good in comparison to the Nik Niks, but compared to many other mussels I’d say these were great. It comes with three pieces of perfectly crisp bread that soaked up the spicy, white wine brine. The chorizo bits floating around the tub was a welcome glorious surprise. With amazing food and happy hour til 7 every day, The Misfits Restaurant can definitely expect us back soon, if not every day for the rest of my life.

Great food, decent prices, good service, perfect ambiance– just visit this place. Pro Tip– Fries can be split by 4 people, do NOT forgo the Blue Cheese(even if you think you hate it– too tasty). Split the BBQ Salmon & Misfit Burger with the boyfriend, could not get enough of that Salmon! Too full to finish, paid our $ 130 bill(4 people total with drinks, standard price) & got out of there pretty quick! Favorite part about this place, they leave a cute little pitcher of water for the table, love it.

YESYESYESSSS a million yesses to this place! After hearing that this place has the best happy hour in the west, I couldn’t resist the opportunity when I was at SM yesterday. Fantastic atmosphere, interesting menu, and fabulous service… just an overall amazing time. The ambience is an interesting mix of trendy and intimate without it being boring. Great for both hanging out or a romantic date. I can’t stress how amazing this place was. Happy hour is no joke. Cocktails, wines, and beers $ 6. The food was amazing but the drinks were just… wow. The Goodnight Emily drink is to die for! Honey, lemon, mint, gin, and blended grapefruit with bits of pulp blended it. It was interesting and tangy. I don’t even like gin. In fact I hate gin but this drink blew me away. mmMMMmmm –Prime rib nik nik sliders did not disappoint. You dip it into the homemade broth and it melts in your mouth. These are a MUSTTRY!!! Wow… I dreamt of these last night. –Shoestring fries w/blue cheese– comes in a HUGE plate that would be a good appetizer for 3 – 4 people. These didn’t last long. Me and my guy inhaled the entire plate with just both of us. –Mac n cheese– best mac n cheese I’ve ever had. It’s baked in a dish and comes out piping hot right out the oven and I enjoyed the crisped layer of cheese on top and also the small hint of spice from the jalapeño nibs mixed inside. Delicious. At the end they give you complimentary salted chocolate chip cookies. As everyone on here already mentioned that these cookies were fantastic, I’d have to agree. On top of that, the service was phenomenal. Both our servers were extremely personable and came to check on us frequently making sure everything was perfect. Our dishes were brought out very quickly one by one and no problems at all. I enjoyed this place so much. If you’re ever in need of perfect happy hour, look no more.

Love this place. Came here for both lunch and dinner. Two words — chicken sandwich. It was delish. Save room for the free salted chocolate chip cookies. And then be sure to take two… or three… seriously. This place is cool, and if you have time to wait for a table, you should do it! Really trendy– delicious food and delicious cocktails(great happy hour that goes until 7). Everything I’ve tried is really good– prime rib nik niks, kale sala, charred broccoli, brussel sprouts, and best off all, the chicken sandwich.

The Misfit fits nicely next to the 3rd Street Promenade. The food is good and fairly simple, but you wouldn’t guess that by reading the name-dropping menu. Brunch is bustling, and they might want you to sit on a teenie tiny table upstairs by the kitchen. At least you’ll have a nice view of the normal-size tables from the railing. The mac ‘n cheese is amazing, gluten free, and loaded with crispy pancetta if you choose(wise choice). We also enjoyed the avocado toast with tomatoes(and a lot surprise grapes). I had a simple and delicious omelette with mozzarella and mushrooms that was lovely. The chef has deemed the omelette unworthy of a side. Potatoes? Toast? Maybe even some artisan, Wiser Farm, cage-free grapes? French press coffee is excellent! Mimosas are tasty and served in stemless flutes that get covered in finger prints, but they’re too cheap not to order two. The service is hipster-friendly and attentive. After our meal we were offered an amazing salty chocolate chip cookie that felt like a random act of kindness and left us with a salty-sweet impression. Well played, Misfits.

I usually pick the restaurant and bars whenever we go out. But on this trip to SoCal, I left all the planning to him. Do you know how hard it is to give up control to your partner? But … he nailed it ;) Misfit checks off everything I love, love, LOVE. Cocktails, food, ambiance. It’s bustling, but not a circus. The cocktails are startlingly impressive. The food is worth every penny. I know what you’re thinking, «maybe you guys just ordered the right things» or maybe, it’s just THAT good. We started off with the tuna tataki with daikon sprouts, dry edamame in a spicy ginger vinaigrette. Yes, I’m at an American restaurant, but folks, its possible to travel to Asia in a minute! I adored the fresh slices of tuna and washed it all down with an invigorating Love Her Madly cocktail. A concoction made with aylesbury vodka, mint, watermelon and absinthe. We waited awhile for our entrees to arrive, but it just seemed right to focus on each other and enjoy our time at Misfit. Of course, this led to another round of drinks: a Sipsmith Negroni for me and a Festival De Las Flores(similar to a Paloma) for him. I’ve never had Sipsmith gin until this cocktail and it lends a zesty character to the Negroni. I’m a MMMeat girl at heart and theirs is a one moist burger. I love it when it’s cooked exactly as requested! The fries are addicting and crispy, while the filet mignon is tantalizingly delicious. We were getting ready to head out with full bellies, when the server came around and presented a bowl of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies with sea salt, encouraging us to take as many as we want. Are you for real? of course, being the cookie monsters that we were, we took some off her hands. Misfit tries very hard to stand out from the rest of the dining establishments around the area and they’re successful in doing that. Not just with the food and drinks, but the little gestures that steal my Unilocal-y heart. Muwah.

This is my new favorite restaurant in Santa Monica. Not only do they have the best way to say thank you by giving you yummy sea salt chocolate chip cookies as you’re leaving, but they also have great happy hour deals and delicious food! Get their Pimm’s Cup! It’s small and served in a little glass tea cup, but it’s also pretty cheap. And you can taste the fresh strawberries! It comes with a slice of cucumber and strawberry in the drink. The last time my friend and I went, we split three menu items. We liked the Avocado Toast, which is very colorful and refreshing, served on baguette toast, with creamy avocado, mozzarella and colorful heirloom cherry tomatoes! It looks like a pretty picture. The Crispy Chicken was so good we were licking our fingers and wishing we’d gotten more. It’s served on a large sesame bun, with lots of green lettuce and crispy chicken. The Sprout Salad was SO good! Fresh, almost raw, Brussels Sprouts, with almonds, dried cranberries and Parmesan cheese slices. Also LOVED their breakfast menu! But I might save that for another review. My favorite were the Chilaquiles. They were a new take on the breakfast dish, and were visually really pretty — they came with two different sauces, green and red. The Huevos Rancheros with chorizo were decent, but not as exotic as the Chilaquiles, which the whole table was trying to eat a bit more of!

Waltzed on over to this spot with a mild hangover from our hotel, as the Wife and I had just celebrated our anniversary the night before. We were in our«holiday clothes» looking sharp. When we approached the door, it had that«Velvet Rope» vibe, like we weren’t sure we were going to get a seat. Walked up to HomeSlice at the door, and he was super welcoming and polite! Complimented my Wife with respect, and told us we would have a seat in no time! Honestly, I had never been welcomed to a restaurant in such a friendly and inviting way! He all but threw out a red carpet for us! Great way to start a dining experience. Walked in and we were awed by the décor. Beautiful and masterfully done! The place smelled of burgers, rich mahogany, and leather-bound books. We were seated, and being that the seats are somewhat close together, soon found out that the patrons of this place are just as cool as the staff. Had some good conversations with the couples sitting on either side of us. Good crowd. A carafe of water and a couple of glasses were brought out without even ordering them. I loved it. The water had obviously been filtered, it was tasty and clear, it reminded me of Pure-Flo water, which is my favorite. I ordered a Green Chile Burger w/an egg. Medium-Rare. That is exactly what I got, and it is definitely on my top10 burgers of all time! Juicy, tasteful, lots of cheese, the Anaheim chilies were cooked just right, and really made this burger in my opinion. Wonderful texture. The bun was slightly toasted, and since this was a «knife and fork» burger, I was able to get some of all the ingredients on each bite. Usually, when I order a «knife and fork» burger, I eat around the bun, and focus on the rest of the burger. Not in this situation. I ate the whole damn thing, because I didn’t want to stop! Marvelous! My Wife got the original Misfit Burger w/an egg. She LOVES burgers, almost as much as «Wimpy» from«Popeye». «I will gladly pay you Tuesday, for a Hamburger today.» and all that. So when she took a bite, and her eyes rolled into the back of her head, I knew her toes were curling under the table as well. I almost got jealous. Somewhere in the back, a cook was smirking. She was sprung on this burger. Pretty much the same description I had with my burger, minus the chilies, and cooked medium. Bravo! The Fries were good, I just had a hard time eating them. They are so thin, that my sausage fingers were having a hard time picking them up. Tried to pinch a few at a time, and they kept falling everywhere, I finally resorted to using a fork. Tasty fries though, and cooked right too. Our waitress was exceedingly nice and attentive, so we tipped her well. Couldn’t find one staff member that didn’t look happy to be there. My Wife used the bathroom, and was greeted with a chick blowing chunks in the bathroom. She looked like a broke-ass Paris Hilton, and the only reason I know this is because I watched her walk back to her table, and instantly start fighting with her boyfriend. She even threw some food at him, calling him a «dick» and carrying on. Good times. So I got a great meal AND a show. Score. This is definitely a priority destination when we are in the area craving burgers. Kudos to the entire staff! Until next time.

Absolut 5 Sterne!
