Amazing! I could eat here multiple times a week. Love the hurache, torpedo and the tacos! Try it!!!

My new favorite Mexican restaurant! The customer service was amazing, the atmosphere was friendly and energetic, and the food was to die for! I bought a gordita as well as a steak taco. I knew I should expect good tortillas, but they were far beyond good, and all the ingredients were better than restaurant quality but at college student affordable prices. I plan on recommending this great place to everyone! :)

Thanks for sending chips with our takeout this time! We will keep coming back again and again. Our favorites so far are the Machete, Mexi-Salad, and Bean and Cheese Papusa. The prices are so reasonable and the service is so friendly and attentive.

Homemade Tortilla is a small restaurant that offers a very limited menu — I think they offer only eight items. The items I tried here were the carnita sopa, and chicken taco. They were both good, but the sopa was a little better. If you haven’t tried a sopa before, it’s a corn masa pattie topped with refried beans, meat, lettuce and crema. Prices were $ 1.99 for the taco, and $ 3.25 for the sopa. The salsas were a huge disappointment as were the chips. Store bought and overly salty. The salsas were very tart and not particularly flavorful. The service was extremely friendly, so I feel bad giving this place only 3 stars. But when I’m at a restaurant and want to go back into their kitchen to show them how to make great salsas and sauces, then I have trouble recommending a place.(I would love to show them how to make salsa that tastes exactly like Chevy’s.) Bottom line. .. Homemade Tortilla is okay, but nothing to go out of your way for.

My daughter and I were heading out of town and needed to eat lunch. We found this place via Unilocal and boy howdy were we pleased! We ordered: pupusas which were excellent(the curtido(cabbage slaw) that comes with it was off the hook!); huarache with beef; tlacoyo(with nopales). All were delicious and homemade(and yes, we did bring home leftovers!) This is not a fancy place but the young woman who helped us was friendly and hospitable and the food was so good so who cares about the less than interesting interior. Too bad we live so far away. I’d make this place a regular! Muchas gracias!

Friendly, fast, and most importantly it’s delicious! The tortillas are definitely homemade and very soft. I would highly recommend anything on their menu but tacos are a must!

First off, the service was really excellent. Super nice woman taking orders, who happily explained all of the items which were unfamiliar. The salsa and chips were really delicious. The green salsa was perfectly spicy and flavorful and left us feeling excited for the food being prepared. In all fairness, we ordered the gorditas, not really knowing what to expect, and found them to be oily. But that’s probably what you get when you order gorditas! The ingredients were good(we got the carnitas), just a bit too heavy/too much of an intense thing. We also had a machete with carnitas which was really tasty. It had a nice sauce and melty cheese on a thick tortilla and also quite a large portion, which was nice to share.

Way down in South Santa Rosa off Stony Point there is a delicious Mexican restaurant! When they say handmade they mean it! I had two tacos(1.99/ea) and two pupusas(2.50/ea). Both were about as fresh as you can get. I saw them cook the raw meat; no re-heating here! The tortillas were fresh too. I had the pollo asado and al pastor tacos and the bean/cheese/chicharon pupusas. All was served fresh and it took a while, but they told me up front 15 minutes. Well worth it for delicious hot and fresh Mexican food. Served with salsa verde and pickled cabbage. I’d definitely be back for more tacos, gorditas and their specialty machete(long gordita).

I’ve been a resident of BELLVUERANCH for 15 years and through out the years we’ve had our share of restraunts… but this place hands down is the best! Starting with the host who greets you with such happiness she makes you feel welcomed at all times. whether I’m calling to place a take out order or to eat there she’s very warm and friendly, everything I’ve ordered is fresh and just full of flavor and affordable! Just like the name everything tastes Homemade! You have to try this place!

We LOVE this place and it’s become a weekend staple. Their tortillas are of course amazing(why else would they name the place that?) but all the food is just outstanding. When they first opened, the wait time tended to be a bit long(considering we had a 3 year old with us) but they seem to have gotten that dialed in because now the food comes out quickly! My son gets a bean and cheese burrito that he loves and we’ve tried just about everything else on the menu and it’s always fantastic. The carnitas are some of the best in the area and their carne asada is also really good, not too fatty and super flavorful. I recommend the huarache and the machete. You’ll see why they’re called that when you get there. Really special place.

This place has solid food no doubt about it. I went with 3 friends and we ordered a bunch of the items. Highlights were the: –Tacos — best soft taco tortilla around, hands down, so fresh and so soft –Tlacoya — what a yummy treat this was the masa dough was oblong and filled with cheese I believe and the nopales(cactus) topping was great –Pambazo — super delicious, next time I’ll add a met to the chorizo potato filling and have that as my meal Everything else was really good to — the Huarache was huge!!! The sopes were good but I didnt love the chicken on them as I felt it was a little dry. The gordita was good too but could have benefited for a little sauce in it to add another dimension. My least favorite was the pupusa as Im spoiled with Don Julios version as their’s are true perfection. The service was great and I must say its not your traditional taqueria where the food comes out within 2 minutes so you do have to be patient while they prepare this food of love. All in all a 4⁄5 and Im looking forward to my next visit.

I recently moved into the Santa Rosa area, and I’m so glad this place is nearby!!! I worked pretty late and needed something to stop my graving for MEAT. I don’t remember her name, but the person who helped me was really friendly, and it was nice that she took the time to explain all of the dishes to me. The menu is pretty legit, and I ordered 2 gorditas to go. They were bigger and more filling than I expected, so I ended up saving one for the next day(lucky meee!!) WOW. SO. GOOD. The outside shells were crispy, and the meat was so flavorful!!! It took some waiting time, but it was worth it considering the stuff was being made on the spot. I was also given extra salsa and hot sauce without having to ask for it. PS, my food was also still delicious after reheating in the microwave… So bonus points. I’m still exploring the area, but also planning on coming back to try the other items on the menu!

Fresh, fast, and completely fabulous! I originally read about Homemade Tortilla from Bite Club Eats and have been waiting for my time to strike. I went with a friend on lunch and was not disappointed. We tried one of almost everything on the menu(what? It was a new place!). You could tell the various tortillas/wrappers(for lack of a better word) were all made from scratch with a lot of thought and love in them. The various meats(I tried carnitas and al pastor) were fresh and flavorful. The salads offered was green and slightly spicy. Next time I will ask about heat options as I would definitely have enjoyed a bit more spice – but there will definitely be a next time! I personally tried a chicken sopa(tender chicken, yummy crema, delicious masa), a gordita(next time I will get extra salsa or ask about pickle jalapeño), and an al pastor huaraches which was a meal in itself! I also tried the habiscus Fresca which was refreshing. Yum yum! If you want to try a fresh Mexican food experience in the land of Mexican food check out homemade tortilla!

In Sonoma County it’s important to set your self aside from other Mexican restaurants if you want to be successful because let’s be real, there’s a ton! This place definitely has the right idea and I think for the most part it translates well. Ambiance: The place has virtually no decorations so the atmosphere is not very inviting. Didn’t really matter since we were talking it to go. Food: I recommend getting the Huarache and the Pambazo, I’ve tried the Popusas but I was really not that impressed(which is fine because this is Mexican food not Salvadorian). The food is well seasoned without being overly greasy or salty. They also make an excellent green sauce. My husband has had the torpedo and he very much liked it. This isn’t somewhere to go to if you want traditional Mexican platters, the style is more Mexican food truck food which in my opinion is often the best. Prices: Very reasonable only about $ 10 per person, also, fountain drinks are only $ 1. The service can be a bit slow but both cashiers that have helped us have been very friendly and helpful.

This place is a good, clean, normal place to eat where, in my opinion, you will find the closest and most authentic process and flavors around for Mexican food. Menu is limited tho, but you have at least 3 – 4 trips before you run out of options. I just hope they do expand and actually make it, as the previous Mexican restaurant there had decent food and yet failed for some reason.

Give credit where it’s do, they have pretty good tacos and reasonably price. I like their simple menu items and the food is pretty fresh. I wish they had a salsa bar though. The place is clean and they were pretty quick.

This funky little taqueria dares to be different with unusual items, fanciful product names, and quality food. Service was great for a counter order kind of place. The ladies working here were friendly and willing to customize orders for us. We had the pambazo, papusas, and the kid’s machete. I’ve never had a pambazo before, so I don’t have a point of reference in critiquing it. The sandwich overall was awesome, but I think the papas y chorizo was a little bland. I’d love to get one next time with some al pastor in it. They made bean and cheese papusas for my wife. Odd to see papusas in a Mexican restaurant, but they were very good. She says they were crispy and yummy. They don’t normally make bean and cheese only so she had to wait around 20 minutes while they made them. Still, we really appreciate them making the vegetarian version available for her. Our wee one had the machete, which was basically a quesadilla with meat on a thicker handmade tortilla. We went with the carnitas and it was really good. I would definitely order one for myself on a future visit. I also want to try a torpedo(burrito) and huarache and sopes and… ah, you get the point. I’m glad this new spot is close to home. As Arnie said, «I’ll be bach!»
