My mother(94) has been a resident of Paulin Creek Independent Living for over 5 years. She has enjoyed her independence while supported by a caring staff who always greet her by name. She has participated in many activities from watercolor class to current events discussions. The Activity Director Alice is absolutely wonderful in organizing community music concerts, lectures, setting up club activities, movie nights, «Candlelight Dinners» and holiday events. Bus ride excursions offered twice a week all around the county are anticipated. Mom has praised on many occasions the informed guided tour guides/bus drivers. She also enjoys dining with friends in the spacious dining hall. The hot soups are the best. Salad bar buffet is great too. Menu is varied daily so lots of choices. Recommendation: smaller portions… there seems to be a lot of food waste. How about composting leftovers for a community garden? Problems occasionally arise such as leaky faucets or air conditioning malfunctions. But these are usually dealt with in a timely fashion by the maintenance crew. Overall we have been quite impressed with the community feel and the wonderful staff at“the Lodge”. Thank you Alice, Michelle, Delores, James, Eddie, Walt, JJ, Lupe, Rose and Shawn!

I have had two sets of grandparents stay here. It is a great place close to Codding Town, the library, and easy to get to. The parking is pretty good. The food is decent and they keep the place extremely clean! I have found the staff to be attentive and friendly as well. I’m not sure what the pricing is like on rooms, but the amenities are great!

Overall a nice place. The staff are all very helpful. Especially Debbie the maintenance lady is amazing! helped Mom in getting her apartment set up. Debbie, We love you for what you did for mom! The food is OK not great, but OK It’s institutional grade i’d say. This is the most important thing it seems to the people there since the meal times are social times. We love the dining room servers, they work REALLY hard and are grossly underpaid. Anyone moving in, please know these are minimum wage workers, so be nice to them. It’s frankly criminal that Brookdale pays them them so little, and they don’t allow them breaks Hey Brookdale they are the face of your company get a clue. I’m gonna guess that it’s the same deal at all the other similar retirement places

After being on the wait list for over a year and a half, and calling in multiple times, I finally got a call back from their«director». He told me that they don’t «provide enough care for their residents» and can’t take my parent. They are called an «ASSISTEDLIVINGFACILITY» but cannot assist their residents. Assisted care unit does not have a kitchen. Two years ago, during their sales speech, they said it would be a couple of weeks, my grandparents are still being served cold food after living there for two years. They are supposed to take out the trash twice daily. Lately it has been piling up for 2 – 4 days at a time. Bed it supposed to be made sometime it is, sometimes it isn’t.
