Luminous Skincare

I had a couple of sessions last year through a Living Social certificate. As far as the effect on the skin of my face, the first session was better than the second. I felt she was rushing my second session — phoning it in. Living Social asked me for feedback on my experience, and I left a thumbs up review, where I did mention Rachel’s to spending most of the time talking about her life, troubles, her family’s issues etc.
As hard working women, we pamper ourselves with things like micro-​derm abrasion and spa treatments, to relax, and escape the exhausting stress and problems of our lives. We do not need to hear about a whole new set of problems from the person giving us our treatment. If this was the only issue I would gladly have rated her at 4 stars; but the real problem I have with this person, is that she retaliated viciously against my thumbs up review on Living Social. Her response included a veiled threat, and mean judgements of of me — based on personal details she had elicited from me during our sessions. I felt attacked and violated.
Additionally, she made me wait for nearly 20 minutes in the non-​air-​conditioned waiting room — so uncomfortably hot — while she finished with another client; and then trashed that client to me for being late and demanding. She had my phone number; so she could have warned me. I could have spent that time getting a drink at Juice Shack, instead of sweating under her skylight.
Suffice to say that I will never return to this merchant. For the cost of 2 – 3 sessions I purchased my own micro-​derm abrasion unit from Trophy Skin, and I love it. ***DIY, when the «professional» makes your experience more stressful than your work week.

I went to Rachael after many unsuccessful visits to my dermatologist. For the past 6 months my face has erupted with huge pimples. I am in my late 20’s and couldn’t figure out why this was happening. It was the worst acne I have experienced! Rachael worked her magic with a microdermabrasion and my skin feels so much better! My skin is noticeably better and many of the acne scars are barely visible. I would definitely recommend going to see her!

Saw Rachael through a Living Social voucher and she extended my services for four additional sessions at the same price! Her shop is clean and inviting and Rachael is very professional! My skin looks great and I will definitely be returning to Luminous!

I saw Rachael for a series of glycolic peels and my skin feels amazing! Her room is clean, comfortable and calming. She is the best and I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my face! :)
