Sandwich Central

I came here with a burger-​O-​phile coworker for lunch in hopes of a great burger place in my neighborhood. We scoped out the menu online and it looked just right for our mood.
The ladies up front were friendly. I ordered a Shroom burger and onion rings. The cashier asked me if I wanted the ‘combo’ which I agreed to. When my burger came it was with French fries, when I pointed out that I had ordered onion rings she stated that the combo is only fries. I wish that had been better communicated but it was probably my misunderstanding.
When we sat down at our table I went to get mustard and noticed the mustard bottle was crusted over and very sticky. This did not convey cleanliness to me and grossed myself and my dining companion out to the point of using a napkin to touch the bottle. The table was also sticky.
My burger was just OK. The bun looked fresh and was of good quality, if a little chewy. The fries were crispy and hot but over salted. We did have another worker come over to check on our food and take our baskets. The service was friendly. I probably won’t be back for another go round but am intrigued by the gyros.

My son and I were in the mood for gyros and searched Unilocal.Not only does Sandwich Central serve gyros, but they also stock Kronos brand gyros, our favorite. It is FedEx’d in from Chicago, so it is fresh and delicious. Add fresh produce and a home made recipe tsadziki sauce and you have a perfect gyro, rarely found on the west coast. The owner, K.C., gave us the back story of his restaurant. Basically it’s a family run place which focuses on quality and customer satisfaction. We were absolutely satisfied and we will definitely return for more. Enjoy! :D

Greasy food. Don’t get orders right. Slow service. Don’t know how to credit refund on card.
On 12÷01÷15 I thought I’d give this place a try, based on good Unilocal reviews.
Their webpage touts: «leave chain store, machine pressed food behind», and «down-​home gourmet meals». With a 20% first-​time web order discount, how could I go wrong? It seemed the only option when ordering was to pick up my order in 10 minutes, or another day. So I ordered 2 Sonoma Burgers, fries, onion rings and small chili, and was quickly out the door and arrived there 10 minutes later at 12:30pm.
There were 2 ladies working hard behind the counter and just a few other customers when I asked if my web order was ready… It had not yet been fished off their printer. So I sat on a stool for 20 minutes and watched them prepare my order in the grill area. The burger paddies were pre-​pressed identically, perhaps not «machine pressed», but appeared so. I groaned to myself as I realized they were on the grill far too long to be «medium rare», as I had ordered them. And indeed they turned out to be well done. I also could not see them prepare the chili, but I thought it was being done out of my view. But no… When my order was up, there was no chili. And I wasn’t going to sit there another 10 minutes while they put that together.
I would not call the meal «gourmet» at all. Everything was greasy, especially the fries. I called them around 1:30pm to ask for a credit to my card for not receiving the chili I paid for. They asked if I could come back and get it… no. Then they suggested that I could come by and get the chili the next time I came there — they would remember me… no. Then she said she would have the owner call me when he came in at 3pm, as she did not know how to credit a refund to my card. Aghast at that, I reluctantly agreed. But I never received a call from the owner. And I was not going to call again and fight over $ 2.50 refund.

Decided to order through their online web service for lunch. It fairly easy and showed my sandwich would be done in 10 minutes. I arrived to pick up my order and they had not even looked to check their online orders. I was told to wait another 10 minutes and let me tell you it wasn’t worth the 20 minute wait. They were out of chips, only had one beer or tap out of the four and rushed my order. Never coming back to this place after this experience.

It’s not often I write reviews for restaurants. However this place deserves more than my words can give. Last night we stopped in not realizing it was their closing time. Not only did (I assume the owner) welcome us openly but was incredibly kind about us being there. Now onto the food… Holy crap this place is amazing! We took food to go, and the French Fries were still hot and crispy when we got home. My honey loved the Turkey Pesto, «This reminds me of home.» I had the Chipotle Chicken, and again total win.
We will be back, often.

NEVER ORDER THE OLD FASHION HOT PASTRAMI! The was microwaved and tasted horrible and there was pretty much no meat. Waste of money…

Really close to my house so I was pretty happy to find. Because although I love Mexican food I need variety. This place is definitely one of the best burgers in roseland but was not anything special. All in all Good not great

First time and won’t be the last! He got the Bacon cheeseburger and Garlic fries. So glad we were splitting our meals because this was the best burger i have had so far. I am not a Bacon person anymore but it was delicious and juicy with so much flavor !! I will be back here the next time i want burger. The garlic fries have a really great flavor as well. A little dry but not so much that i didn’t enjoy them. I had a few sips of the vanilla shake. Very good !! The staff is very friendly and great service.

Definitely love their Turkey Pesto Sandwich. I’ve been there in the evenings the last few times and the older gentleman is always so kind. A couple of times I went during the day and the ladies… were not so welcoming.
The sandwich is delicious, and when I ordered extra turkey I really get extra! Yummy!!!

I would recommend they repaint the counter, because every time I go in there it gives it a «dirty vibe» and it can be pricey but for a good hearty meal, I’m not complaining.

Delicious!!! I can’t say enough about how yummy Sandwich Central is. I always have a great experience. Best burgers in Santa Rosa by far! When I am in town visiting the in-​laws I always make a point to stop by with my family for lunch or dinner. Helpful staff, clean, great menu options — even for our picky eaters, and kid friendly too. Big portions. Boy… now I am craving garlic fries! Highly recommended!!!

Last week, Wednesday the 10^th of June, 1015, I took my girlfriend, her two kids and grandmother to this rancid sandwich shop. After we made our order and after her kids began to eat their burgers we realised that the health inspector was in the back and in the process of shutting this nasty place down. I also looked at the ovens and grills behind the counter to see layers of multi-​colored grease and what appeared to be old food, slimed and caked all over the stainless steal surfaces.
We promptly took the food to the counter and asked for our money back. The lady who took our order said that we couldn’t get our money back on the burgers because we had already started eating them. This stand she was making was unturnable until the health inspector emerged from the back and I asked her exactly what she was closing this slop shop for, infestation and vermin. both alive and dead, feces everywhere. And, this unsanitary sespool was already under the gun so to speak by the health department for the deplorable conditions that they were subjecting to their customers.
The food poisoning from last week infuriates me more because this entire incident could have been avoided if the owner cared and the employees had backbone. I seriously doubt that they would feed their kids this trash or even eat it themselves. It took me asking the inspector for the code violations that she was citing for the lady who took our order finally reimbursed us our $ 38…
I will never eat there again, even if the business changes hands, is scrubbed ceiling to floor, front to back with the equipment replaced. The location is forever in mind contaminated. along with every other food service in that strip, sorry but once cockroaches and rats get this concentrated, it spreads.
Gross.

My husband and I decided to come over here because of the good reviews. unfortunately we are so disappointed! The place is not clean, we had a burger and it was greasy and there is no taste for the meat .
Definitely won’t be back!

CONS: Terrible customer service. The woman at the register (her name was Monica with dyed red hair) did not greet me or even return my smile when I approached the counter to order. She did not look at me while I placed my order, nor did she thank me after I paid. I’m a pretty friendly person, so for the customer (me) to be way nicer than the person behind the counter is a bit awkward to say the least.
My other complaint is that I waited 25 minutes for them to make my sandwich! I went there on my 30-​minute lunch break at work, so I was late clocking back in. I highly recommend calling in your order if you have any sort of time limit. Granted, the family in front of me ordered about five different sandwiches, but they should really have more than one cook during peak hours to avoid this problem.
PROS: My sandwich tasted fabulous. The bread was warm and toasty, the avocado fresh and creamy, the turkey tender and flaky… I have to say, it was ALMOST worth the non-​existent customer service and long wait time… but not quite. There are so many places in town to get a good sandwich.

Never disappointed with Sandwich Central! Well worth the wait. The quality and selection is superb.

I was drawn in by the Yankee stadium poster. I asked who was the NY fan and they didn’t know. Not a fancy place by any stretch of the imagination, kind of a throwback to the luncheonette with the daily specials and tired signs. Never a good idea to post pictures of food in the window. Anyway, the burgers are excellent so go there.

Get the onion rings.

The food was amazing!!! What was more amazing was the customer service. Great little shop!!!

I have been coming to Sandwich Central ever since it opened; as a matter of fact, I used to come to this location before it was Sandwich Central and when it was Taco Del Mar!
Although I haven’t been here in quite some time, I always remember the food being delicious and up to par. Very clean and comfortable on the inside, too.
The owner is very, very kind and I would always see him working behind the counter as well. You can tell he cares a lot about his business and customers, too.
I’m happy there are many positive reviews for this sandwich/​burger spot — I wish nothing but success for Sandwich Central. If you haven’t made it down here yet, I highly recommend it because you’re missing out! Amazing food for a good price!

Decided to get some takeout the other night from here…
My fiancé ordered the Classic Hot Pastrami with double meat and I ordered the Turkey, Jack and Bacon with avocado. We also ordered one small order of fries and a large order of chili cheese fries.
The hot pastrami with double meat was anything but double meat. If that is double meat I feel sorry for anyone who orders this regular. Seriously. There was barely any meat on that thing. Pretty substandard.
I had been planning on enjoying some chili cheese fries but after we opened the container I changed my mind.
The chili looked gross, I realize chili cheese fries are not a particularly attractive dish, but this just looked old. Tasted none too good either.
The regular fries were over fried. Straight from the freezer to the deep fryer but somehow just not good.
My sandwich was ok. Good amount of turkey, much more than my fiancés pastrami. Two tiny little pieces of bacon, and the avocado slices that I got extra were TINY. Two tiny teeny little thin slices, one brown and gross.
Not very happy with this visit.
Will not be going here again.

Updated —
After arguing with me about their no refund policy for about 5 minutes, «Sniffles» finally gave me my money back, minus the tip (Which I had specifically given so she would not spit in my food to begin with).
She then told me that it did not matter if her snot was on my sandwich, because she had been «taking all the medicine from the doctor».
Well. I’m not quite sure that’s how it works, Sniffles :(
I still haven’t gotten an explanation from the business owner, which is disappointing.
