Submarina Subs and Sandwiches

This place is delicious! 10x better than Subway. Veggies are always fresh & the bread is soft and simply amazing!

I’ve become quite the regular here since I spend a lot of days at home now and it’s convenient to come here for lunch. I usually get the turkey club 6″ sandwich and chips/​drink combo. The sandwich is always excellent and tasty with fresh ingredients and toppings. I really like how they hand slice the meat for your sandwich right in front of you.

while at scumarina… I watched the girl behind the counter use a nasty wet white towel to wipe everything but the toilet with that nasty, unsanitized, dirty towel, it’s called «cross contamination «Then she proceeded to put my bread on that nasty counter top, that was still wet from the towel from hell. She never rinsed it or at least sprayed it with disinfectant the whole time I was in line to order (5 mins). lunch rush ! I know they are required to take food safety classes… maybe they forgot the basic rules. And YES I walked out. don’t get me started on their so called healthy clear gloves… think about it.

This Submarina has definitely gotten better. It’s not the best Submarina in SD, but at least they smile and are a little faster the few times I’ve been there in recent weeks. Love their sandwiches.

I love a good sandwich, and Submarina knows what a good sandwich is. While Submarina is still a chain, we all know that not every location for any chain restaurant is always up to par. This Submarina, on the other hand, is above many others.
Every sub I’ve had from here, as well as my girlfriend’s subs, have been perfect. It’s always fresh. It’s always made with just the right amount of each topping so that you can taste every topping individually in each bite. It’s always delicious. Neither of us have every left this particular Submarina dissatisfied with our food or feeling like we wasted our money, which is always a good feeling.
The interior is always clean and well kept and their staff is always friendly and welcoming. While they are more expensive than some other sandwich chains, such as Subway, you never have to worry about not getting your money’s worth. If you want a sandwich and you’re nearby, stop by this Submarina. You won’t be disappointed.

I love this place! I always get the veggie on sourdough & it’s pretty much always delicious. The only thing I don’t like is every time I got the avocado, it was always hard & not ripe enough. That’s the only reason for my 4 stars. I just stopped getting the avocado on my sandwich. Also they run out of bread and/​or specific things I want on my sandwich like olives. That’s only happened once or twice. But my food always turns out good anyways. It’s pretty hard to mess up a sandwich that you’re standing there building yourself basically.

I really like this place! The service is great and the ingredients are fresh… It’s much much better than subway. I always get the vegi and the bf gets the peppered cali… We’ve never been disappointed here…

Really my go to spot for a hearty, fresh and filling sub.
The folks working behind the counter are always upbeat and professional. Every time I’m in I see the employees working as a team to make your sandwich in a timely manner. The system and workers are flawless. I am always so excited to unwrap my ATC and devour. Just so satisfying. Really makes coming here so easy. I hope the owner keeps the quality in his employees. Really great crowd working hear. Thanks everyone!

Submarina is fantastic, what can I say. The employees are usually pretty friendly.
The sandwiches are delicious. Way better than subway. The bread is soft and the ingredients seem very fresh. The restaurant is clean but the entrance door is disgusting.
The seem to have random locations around the county. They don’t seem to be as plentiful as subway, but they’re a way better sandwich and a way better deal.

Submarina really stands out as a sandwich shop who takes pride in having the freshest ingredients. It’s simplicity which really makes the sandwiches standout. The ATC (avocado, turkey, and cheese) is outstanding. The avocados are freshly sliced California avocados. Also the Italian dressing is a must there!

Just started going to this location this year, had always been a Subway fan prior.
Now I see my mistake.
Subway’s food is awful compared to Submarina’s.
At Submarina, the meat is fresher, the bread tastier, and they actually hook it up on meat and cheese, you don’t feel nickeled and dimed like at Subway.
The workers are always pleasant, and willing to help you out with recommendations and special requests. The service is usually fast, even when there is a long line it gets knocked out pretty quickly.
Prices are ok for what you get. Make sure to tip!
There’s been a few times I wished they were open later, but closing early is nice for the workers, and makes sense as far as a business model goes, so you’ve got to be understanding there.

I love Submarina! But this place is just tarnishing their name. I have eaten at Submarina before and am very familiar with the quality/​quantity of sub I’m getting. I happened to stumble on this place for lunch. I ordered the «CALI» sub as it is my favorite. The sandwich had very very little meat on it. Submarina is suppose to stack the meat on the sandwich and you are suppose to scratch your head and wonder how you’re suppose to eat it.
I will give this location another try only because I have had so many good experiences in the past from other chains.
I hope they can pull through because I know corporate will!
Please stick to the standard.

I have been eating at this Submarina for years now and it is hands down my favorite sandwich. All ingredients are fresh and good quality. I get the same thing every time and it’s always consistent. The store is clean and customer service is good. Dump gross Subway and go to Submarina.

The staff is friend and fast. I am always in and out of there in under 5 minutes.

I come to this Submarina pretty often. The staff behind the counter are always friendly and ready to serve you with a smile. The food is fresh and the service is fast! Only reason I have them 4 stars is because the menu is a bit expensive.

This is the one of my favorite Submarinas. lucky me it is right done the street. The staff is always in a great mood and puts love into their sandwhich making skills. I usually end up getting the same thing when i come in, so they pretty much know what i want. The Peppered ATC is my all time favorite, but then again i switch it up with the tuna as well. This place always has a nice atmosphere, and a clean and comfy sitting area. I am now craving a sandwhich from here just typing this. If you have never tried this place I say go for it. Your taste buds wont be dissapointed. Plus you get a stamp card your 10^th sub is free. :) We all love free stuff.

This place has pretty good subs. I think I prefer quiznos or togos but this place isn’t half bad. They have a good french dip sub and a good meatball sub. They do to go orders and dine in as well. The restaurant is always clean when I have been in there. The staff is very friendly and work as a team to get your order done quickly and correctly.

Pretty solid sandwich! I haven’t been here in a few years and decided to grab a sandwich today after the gym. I remembered they had a decent turkey, bacon avocado sub. That is exactly what I ordered. Its called the «Cali» and it was delicious. I got a large one and it was $ 7.98.
The operation is family owned (at least that what I gathered… the dad was taking orders slicing the meat and bread, the son was crisping the bacon, the daughter making the sandwich and the mom working the register). They were friendly enough. Grabbed my sandwich and went home.
The sandwich itself was really good. They slice the meat right there in front of you. They put on a decent amount of meat… not piled on, but not skimp either. The Cali comes with turkey breast, avocado, bacon and whatever else you want. I got mine with provolone, lettuce, onions and some Italian dressing. The turkey was fresh, the avocado was creamy, the bacon was crisp and the Italian dressing tied it together. They use kind of what is like a French bread for their sandwiches. Usually I don’t like that kind of bread for my sandwiches but this bread was great. Soft, warm and tasty. It worked perfectly for this type of sandwich.
Will I be back? Probably… maybe with a coupon though.

I have to admit, the sandwich was a lot better than I thought it was going to be. The brisket was tender and the BBQ sauce slightly sweet and tangy. I had provolone cheese instead of the cheddar, and I also added lettuce, tomatoes, and a small amount of onions. (

The service here was really friendly and polite. I also had their unsweetened iced tea which was very good.

I don’t normally write reviews for small chains like this but I like this place enough to say something here. This place seems to be family owned and operated. The staff is always very friendly and very clean cut. I like this. The shop as a whole is VERY clean and inviting. I like that they have a sandwich card to get my 10^th sando for free. The prices are a little more than say… subway but lets face it, this is a FAR better sandwich. The only downside to this particular location is that it closes early. Im assuming that the reasoning is that its in a part of town that caters to other business’ having their employees only coming in around lunch time.
