Great sushi for the price. Don’t ever have to wait to be seated. Recommend the Spanish roll. Very refreshing

Jalapeños yellowtail is the best thing in Santee you should order 2. Me and my 8 year old tore it up over there and I had 2 beers… for. 35 bucks and my 8 year old loves sushi

This is a really good sushi spot. It has fresh fish and they’re rolls are always so tasty. They have as Sapporo and Sake special all the time. We have tried most of their rolls because we want to try all of them but some we always order and that’s the salmon skin roll, eel roll, and monkey brain. This place also offer udon soup, bento, and other dishes. They recently started a no drink sharing policy lol. I find it funny but I’m guilty of doing it sometimes haha!

My boyfriend and I have been going to all the sushi joints around Santee since we just moved out this way. We went here a couple weeks ago and my experience has not left me. I ordered a Philadelphia roll, but with crab instead. The waitress we had didn’t like that I guess, because she then began a 15 minute push to get me to order the«spicy crab roll, because it’s the same thing!». Not only was she upset I said no, when we ordered other items with spicy mayo on top, she kept mentioning it makes no sense to her. We waited and waited for our orders, at one point she began talking to the sushi chef about me and what we ordered very loudly. I was very uncomfortable here. When our order did arrive, I didn’t have a Philadelphia roll, no. She gave me a California roll and walked away. The service was very bad and we definitely will not be coming here in the future.

Been coming here since it opened and the short Asian waitress has always been rude as hell but I still go back cause the price is good and it’s close. My last trip to takka has me thinking twice about going back. I went in on a Saturday and it was busy, they sat my wife and I at the far right corner of the bar, the whole time we ate the waitress kept going behind me and spilling water and tea on me and to top it off no one came to refill out drinks, no one came to take our second Oder and we got our rolls before we got our appetizer.

First impression was good. The ring of fire has me hooked. I’ll be back for that for sure.

Ive came here quite a few times. The waitresses dont really speak very good english so it lacks in customer service. Last time I came here we ordered edamame as an appetizer. It tasted like lavender soap. We call the waitress over to let her know. She talks to the kitchen… They admitted to dropping them in a soap filled sink… Still thought it was okay to serve this to us??? They still charged me for the edamame. No tip for the horrible service and you lost several customers!!! We didn’t even get an apology! Never again!

Waiter was rude. Never in all of San Diego have I ever been told that the chef can’t make a roll without the seaweed! He told me it was impossible. I had to suggest to him that he use soy paper, an item listed on their own menu!

The rolls are good and an awesome price ! I only gave them four stars because of the service. We got our first two rolls very quick, after we were done with those we had to wait about 10 min for the last one. Which was after I tried to get the waitresses attention and she just kept walking by. She also seemed very stressed and disoriented!

My friend and I ordered five rolls: Spicy Tuna Roll, Pizza Roll, Shirmp Tempura Roll, and a Philly Roll and a rainbow roll. All really good. Very well made. Super fresh. The Pizza Roll was the best. However what this place REALLY lacked was service. The staff there was very attentive to our drinks, sometimes too attentive, but it took them over an hour to get our Pizza Roll out. We had to has the waitresses there 3 separate times about our Pizza Roll. Also one of the waitresses there was very snooty and gave us a dirty look when we asked her about what the wrapping was on a particular roll. Good food, but honestly, we will not go there again simply because of the service.

This place reminds me quite a bit of Sushi Deli — it’s more about quantity over quality. If that’s what you’re looking for, then this place is great. If you’re looking for flavor, you’d do better to try something else.

This place used to be great. I was tempted to get up and walk out today, listening to the lady taking a phone order. Apparently, they do not like people making custom orders. Instead of displaying patience, the worker was being extremely disrespectful. After hanging up, she continued to complain loudly about customers. She apparently has a problem letting go and moving on, as she continued to complain off and on for duration of our visit. No staff bothered to stop it. If this treatment of customers is tolerated here, I do not suspect they will be around much longer. I am not easily offended, but this made me uncomfortable enough that I will not be returning.

So on the menu miso soup is included in your order. Unless you order Togo and they won’t include it in your order but you can order it on the side and pay extra. No military discount either

So high hopes for this place cause it has a 4 star rating… idk where those ppl ate but it wasn’t here. The Miso soup was watery, had a hard time getting the Miso flavor. We ordered the salmon teriyaki… salad was super over dressed, the sauce they put on the salmon made it impossible to taste the fish itself. Honestly, it could have been chiclen. Gyoza was pretty good though. I am suspicious that they might be frozen. Next came sushi, Sakki Maki which was good simple sushi and Hot Lips which was also pretty good. Crazy bombs(yeah our appetizer came after our meal and we had to ask our waitress about them who told us it took longer like 10 min… yeah we got our dish and sushi already… its been more than 10 min.) But in the end, they were spicy and delicious. Service is seriously lacking and so is food quality… we might come back and give them a second try but definitely not for a while.

My wife and I got dinner to go on a Saturday night. The place wasn’t too busy. My ramen was good but not spectacular, but my wife loved the sushi roll she got.

Half off Classic rolls and a third off some Special rolls all the time. Nice clean environment and clean bathrooms. Ok service, that is the reason for one less star. Rolls were really good. I especially liked their eel sauce, it was sweeter than most. My husband really liked the Spider roll. My fave was the Crunchy.

I love going to this place! The prices are reasonable. My favorite roll there is the salmon skin roll, the salmon is super super super crispy and they top the roll with some sweet teriyaki/oyster sauce. Their regular rolls are always 50% off and their special rolls are always 30% off. I prefer this place to Domo Sushi(which is another local Santee sushi spot) because there’s never a huge wait and there’s plenty of seating available.

Takka is my go-to sushi place. They’re always really quick with bringing out your food or making your to-go order. Never too packed in the restaurant. Great food at a really decent price! It’s not exactly gourmet dining but it’s still my favorite place to eat If you want to try something different, go for the Spanish roll. Has lemon on top and it’s my favorite roll of all time.

The décor of this restaurant is nice but the service was just okay. They took kind of long to get all of the rolls out to our table. They offer a 50% discount on cut rolls and 30% discount on speciality rolls so the prices are very cheap. My friend and I ordered the eel roll, Mexican roll, tempura sake roll, and spanish roll. The spanish roll was good except the slices of lemon on the top were very large so it overpowered the taste of the salmon. The eel was not very good and did not taste fresh. The tempura sake roll and Mexican roll were very good.
