Such a nice, quaint ice cream shop in Siesta that I would definitely recommend to anyone! The ice cream is absolutely delicious and flavorful(I had pistachio in a waffle cone), and the staff keep the lines moving fairly well. They also have fudge which I didn’t partake in but they do more than just ice cream! Will absolutely be coming back!

Ice cream was quite good but 2 things hurt the experience for me. 1. Peanut Butter Fudge was terrible. Bought a square to take back to the hotel and I’m tossing it out. 2. One of the young employees had a bad attitude. Kid was probably just having a bad or sarcastic day, but as a dad I’m not interested in paying to have an emo teen scoop up my ice cream. Contrast that with the also young staff at Sweetberries who were polite & friendly. Their product was better too

Great homemade ice cream! Rich and creamy and they give you a lot for the price. I liked the«garbage can» flavor. If it’s summer expect a line but it’s well worth the wait!

If you can get past the hordes of screaming, sugar-high kids and harried parents on the front porch and steps(seriously, it was like a daycare center out there), this place doesn’t disappoint. Lots of different ice cream flavors to choose from, and they give you a lot… even the small was LARGE.

Can’t beat this place when you want ice cream. They have so many flavors from lychee to vanilla. The ice cream is creamy and home made tasting. It made me want more though I was full from their generous two scoop serving. You can have your ice cream in a cup, small cone or two different types of waffle cones. Their waffle cones are freshly made and stay crisp till your ice cream is gone. They only have one table in the store so plan on eating outside or as you walk down the street and window shop.

Big Olaf’s is the best place in and around Siesta Key for ice cream. Don’t be turned off because of higher than usual prices($ 4-$ 7). The portion size and quality make it worth every penny. There is homemade fudge that is so rich and so yummy. You can even ask for a free sample. Over the course of my vacation I kept going back for the birthday cake in a waffle cone and every night it delivered. One of the best ice cream places I’ve been to!

Great ice cream. Very busy but staff is very efficient. Nice to eat your ice cream outside to do some people watching.

Awesome local ice cream spot! Not über cheap but the scoops are giant! The flavors are unbelievably magical(toasted coconut khalua krunch) and the little outside porch makes it a cute spot to visit after a long day at the beach. Highly recommend you check it out! No complaints.

Delicious! Amazing! The line looks intimidating but the employees know how to keep it moving! Plus, while you wait you can look at all the amazing flavors and just dream of what you’ll want to try on your next visit – because there will be a next visit! We went four times when we spent a week in Siesta Key and now we are home and just craving Big Olaf’s!

Out of all the times I have been coming to Siesta Key, I have never been to Big Oalf’s. It is in the Siesta Key Village which isn’t a far drive at all. What scared me was the huge line that was outside of the store. But surprisedly the employees know how to keep the line moving. So whatever their system is, it’s great! I had the fudge brownie which of course I loved. Now I know why it’s the most popular ice cream place in Siesta Key.

After my massage, just in time to spoil dinner, the crowds of people outside with huge waffle coned filled ice cream silently convinced me I had to have some. With everything from your standard chocolate and vanilla to unique flavors like trashcan and blueberry cheesecake it was hard to pick just one. I typically would take advantage of the special flavors, but I was craving the classic mint chocolate chip in a waffle cone of course. I ordered one scoop and wow! It was more than I expected, but man was it good. The waffle cone reminded me of the Belgian waffles I had for breakfast. Yummo! In order to both prevent a stomach ache and save room for dinner I left some in the cone, but believe me, I definitely could have finished it. There is just something different about homemade ice cream that makes it that much more delicious.

Don’t let the lines out front chase you away. They move very fast. There is a reason this place is packed all day everyday! This is a must try every time you come to siesta key!

Very good! Almost always a long line in the evenings, but well worth the wait. They usually have a number of people working, so the line goes fairly quickly. Definitely a place to stop for dessert after any dinner on Siesta Key.

The ice cream is tasty, and not too expensive. I’m not a huge fan of the physical layout, as it’s designed to move customers through efficiently. It’s not easy to just hang back and make a decision since space is limited. Overall a decent ice cream shop.

When my 15 year old cousin visited for a week, we walked here EVERY night after dinner(and sometimes dessert) to indulge in delicious ice cream. It is our go to place for ice cream on the Key — and we have never been dissapointed. The serving sizes are HUGE. I like that I can get a junior serving and be happy with my 2+ scoops of ice cream. Try it — its well worth it.

I don’t know about you, but when it’s hot out, I want ice cream. And I won’t stop craving it until I have it. The biggest selling point for this place is it’s location. It’s right in the heart of Siesta Key Village, and it’s super close to the beach. So whether it’s a cloudy day and you want to hit the shops, or you’re coming off the beach for a bite to eat, this place is conveniently located. When I went, the line was rather short, but I can easily see how it gets packed during peak times. I had the mint chocolate chip ice cream in a sugar cone. Smooth and creamy. $ 3.85 for one scoop. Definitely enjoyed it, and definitely better than some places I’ve been, but then again you can put any type of ice cream in front of my face, and I’ll eat it(ask my friends). Limited sitting area inside. We chose to walk and eat(you can get a cup with the cone if you’re a mess like me and are afraid it will spill all over the place). Cute place. Lots of other touristy shops in the area, as well as restaurants and bars(some with live music). Reputable place that’s been in business for years.

This is your typical ice cream shop except for two things. It’s right down the street from the countries most beautiful beach and they offer a ton of homemade ice cream flavors that are wonderfully unique but not bizarre. Prices are about average($ 4 – 6 mostly). I’m took off a star because I wanted a cup with three flavors and without warning or even seeing it on the menu I got a giant cup with three flavors for over $ 7. Don’t get me wrong I gladly ate the whole thing but I wasn’t expecting to eat that much ice cream or shell out that much. I like that they have a bunch of seating inside and a few places to sit outside. I wished they had a parking lot but the one across the street worked in a pinch. I see many people mentioning long lines. I came on a partly cloudy weekday in July and didn’t have to wait for anyone. I tried the cinnamon roll, key lime pie, and birthday cake. Each was perfect. Very flavorful, smooth, and with the right consistency. I love that they make their own ice cream and would definitely come back given the chance.
