Best coffee around. Fresh coffee and comfortable, calm atmosphere. Love their coffee bar in Oxford Exchange — Tampa. And this place is just as nice. But with a different flare. Inside is small and simple with an industrial style feel. There are about 10 bar style seats. Outside there are wicker cushioned furniture sets with tons of seating. The shop is under the parking garage almost and offers a light breeze through the pass through and is shaded. Even on a hot day of 92 degrees I was comfortable. Next time I’m in the area I will be back!

Seriously good coffee. I don’t really care if the place is trendy or not(it is). The pastries are subpar. The Internet connection kind of sucks. I’ve had coffee here three times on my trip and it is really good. Two cappuccinos and one cold drip coffee.

Poor experience. The latte coffee was mediocre leaning to burnt tasting, and overall unpleasant. I asked if they had wifi, and they told me yes, but after troubleshooting for 10min they finally admitted that it wasn’t working. Luckily I had a hotspot, but the signal was poor. What waste of time and money.

I wanted to love this place based on the reviews and location but found it to be underwhelming. Pastries aren’t made in house. Instead, they’re from Louie’s Modern which is next door. Coffee is on the expensive side but my latte was lukewarm. Came back a second time and my vanilla latte tasted like I was drinking pure sugar despite asking for ½ the sweetener. It’s mentioned quite a bit but the WiFi is not reliable so I wouldn’t suggest it as a place to work. Lastly, the staff seemed more interested in carrying on conversations about their night out despite a long line of customers as if we were in their way.

This was an amazing find in Downtown Sarasota! Sadly, I’ve been spoiled by the rich flavors of everything city life offers, and coming from Los Angeles, you can bet coffee is no exception to this rule. Alex was manning the counter at rather-late-for-coffee hour of «sunset o’clock,» when we dropped into this gem of a place. We chopped it up a bit about the usual fair, talking coffee, crumby customers, the nuances of Florida living, and our hopes and dreams for the future. … I know! All that over a few sips of one of the most DELICIOUS latte’s ever! I’ve found that with most places that attempt flavored coffees, you typically get a surface layer of flavor and the underwhelming hint of the water that transports it all into your mouth. Rather than this, i was treated to the warm, enveloping caramel embrace of my … Well shoot, I can’t remember the name! It’s the one w the Spanish sounding name on the menu That aside, my girlfriend grabbed the latte, and was deeeelighted to find that she actually enjoyed a savory, sweet, flavored drink! … I think the in-house made caramel had something to do with it. Anyway, I could ramble on and ruin it all! Instead, you should discover this magical place yourself.

Don’t go here if you’re expecting to work — their WiFi is super slow, especially near the majority of their seating outside). Otherwise it’s a good place to hang, good brew.

HIDDEN location. Tucked back and between two buildings. Mocha latte was delish. I appreciate the ambiance and the philosophy.

Great coffee and pastries and a really nice relaxing area outside to sit and enjoy. The place is tucked under the stair well in a new parking garage in downtown Sarasota but gives you an open feel to there outside seating area.

I went to Sarasota last year to visit a friend and we stumbled upon Buddy Brew looking for a nice place to chat. I had a wonderful experience. The place is nice and quiet and the staff is super nice and love to talk to the locals. The coffee too was heaven.

Beautiful space. great outdoor patio area, adjacent to a fine restaurant. Very good, bold americano. A bit pricey(about 1.5 $ over average price)

Quality coffee, delicious. Cool little spot, with funky destiny outside, but tight for space inside. Overall good little downtown spot to emerge in 2015.

Great tasting iced latte! Well worth the stop off I-75. The barista was terrific. She mentioned the flavored syrups were made in-house while the coffee was roasted close by. I believe they use organic milk(or grass-fed), which is always a plus. We’ll be back.

CAFFEINATEDHIDDENGEM Literally… hidden gem. Driving by the road you’d probably easily drive by since Buddy Brew is tucked UNDER a staircase next to a more eye-catching busy restaurant however the plethora of comfy couches and tables scattered around that spacious area surrounding the stair case does attract people. Buddy Brew made good use of that covered space. HOWDOYOULIKEYOURCOFFEE? Minimal fuss inside but I was thrilled to see they offered pour overs, cold brews, French pressed, and even aero-pressed coffee… who does all that?! Loved that. Besides talking the talk Buddy Brew also walked the walk… my selections from there(as well as from my party) emitted a beautiful Espresso aroma. Not too much sweetness(they also had agave!) or creamer. Just right. I’ve experienced Buddy Brew Coffee from places around Tampa Bay that offer it and I’ve never been disappointed.

A toast, to new friends and great coffee! Buddy Brew SRQ is a little bit of paradise in a place where craft roasted coffee is hard to come by. It doesn’t matter what you drink or brew method you choose, they always«brew good.» As for the staff, they are hospitable, genuine, knowledgeable, and friendly. In regard to cost, their drinks are remarkably well priced. Cheers!

This charming, unassuming coffee shop in downtown Sarasota is definitely worth your time. When inundated with so many choices for coffee or coffee houses, this one is a satisfying solution. Barista Jordyn provided me with one of, if not the best iced caramel latte I’ve had in recent memory. As far as price, Buddy Brew is done competitively with a better quality of ingredients. They also offer a great range of sweets and savory eats that are actually pretty tasty. Thanks, AE.

I have had a variety of drinks here. From the frothy cappuccino, the punchy cordato, to the satisfying cold brew, all of the drinks here are simply top notch. I just love the coffee. It is so fruity and smooth. I most often get a simple yet satisfying coffee to which I add a splash of cream. In addition to having such tasty drinks, all of the staff are super friendly and amiable people. The type of people who make you feel like you are great friends, even though you just swing by for a coffee from time to time. Top notch staff. Top notch location. And top notch product. Let’s face it, some of us would drive hours for a cup of brew such as they pour here. If only I lived 15 more minutes closer, then I could walk out my door to that delicious scent… We can all dream!!!

Service is always spot on, the staff perky & good for light conversation in an attempt to wake up. Glad to see more independent coffee options coming to town, as that the standard pastrybux either lacks flavour while the other burns holes in your stomach from over roasting. Buddy Brew is the locally roasted alternative.

Snobbery derives from the instinct to exclude. Those who fetishize wine, for example, don’t want you in their club. You will be either too poor, too gauche, too mainstream or too eager. You will be rejected because you don’t know the rules. Snobs live to deny your membership application. Coffee snobbery comes in a few different flavors. We must tolerate our *bucks snobs, the«green» snobs and the plain old«I just wanna prove how much more I know than you» snobs. Ach. It’s a bore, but what are we to do? One idea is to go to the new Buddy Brew, grab yourself a coffee and contemplate life and snobs. In what used to be an appallingly run joint in what should be a lively nook of downtown, Buddy Brew is waking up the place. Ashleigh(our Sunday baristrix) was wonderfully interesting as host, talking about the coffee biz and how BB fits. Non-condescension plus knowledge is a powerful brew. The coffee’s good too, as if you’d know. /kidding
