Arroz Chaufo de Pollo must be spiked with something because it is addictive. There must a twelve step support group for people who have tried it. As a previous reviewer mentions the portions are generous. During other visits I ordered the Corvina which was also good and I’m not a fish fan. However I do like shrimp and the jumbos in the Cerviche de Camarones are superb. Did I mention how good the Arroz Chaufo de Pollo was? The place is clean and the people are friendly. Get down here before the snowbirds find out about it(wink, wink)

We’ve been here twice so far, and I’m not sure why it’s not absolutely packed. The food is so wonderfully delicious, my mouth couldn’t be happier. Super friendly service too. I want to go back every week.

My second time at Cevichef. Our waiter Pierre was very friendly and did an excellent job. I tried their pescado ceviche served in a stemmed glass which was excellent as well as their ceviche mixta which was also very fresh and delicious. The grilled corvina fish was amazing and their lomo saltado tasted very authentic. Also tried their red sangria with a plentiful amount of fresh fruit, very refreshing and made with quality ingredients. Overall great cozy atmosphere with salsa music, recommended A+

Came in around 5:30, there was no one visible anywhere and we stood around for about ten minutes before grabbing silverware, menus and napkins and setting our own table. Eventually someone came out. I had the drink«Chicha Morada» which was a purple corn and apple drink unlike any beverage I’ve had, sort of like a non-alcoholic sangria combined with Christmas cider. I recommend it for the experience, I’d like to have it again in bottled form or maybe make it myself sometime. I got the Leche de Tigre ceviche, which a large 6 – 8 ounce glass of ceviche, hard to tell exactly what fish was in there and how much of each, since all were chopped the same and looked the same visually. But it was tasty and they didn’t skimp on the seafood, the hot sauce on the side was legitimately HOT which I appreciate. I also had a side of fried plantains which were cooked perfectly, a nice fried carmelized shell with steaming hot insides. My date had chicken breasts which seemed boring in the description, but were well seasoned and came with 4 – 5 sides including beans, plantains, rice, salad and another I can’t remember. Kind of a funky atmosphere and the service was so-so, but the food was pretty good and decently priced. I would recommend it for the experience or if you want to try some Peruvian, not sure I’ll go again but it’s a decent value especially if you like this kind of food. I defer to the experts on whether or not it counts as «authentic» since that’s all anyone seems to care about.

These people know ceviche. made with corvina. a good portion for $ 10.50. The side salad is wonderful. Beef stew peruvian style is excellent, also. had the anticuchos as an appetizer which is grilled veal heart and it comes with peruvian corn and potatoes. it could have been an entrée. We’ll be back

A little gem of a place. Dropped in here for a quick lunch and to satisfy my ceviche craving. WEWILLDEFBEBACK. The house Tigre leche ceviche was delicious and a generous serving. I also enjoyed a side order of sweet plantains which were piping hot and precisely the right caramelization. Hubby had the seafood soup and was suitably impressed also. Very flavorful and a tender selection of mussels, calamari, shrimp, fish — the broth was fabulous. One of the best sangrias I’ve tasted and service was personable and very pleasant. This chef can cook! We already have plans to go back for a full dinner experience. Excellent value.

My girlfriend and I went for the first time last week and loved it! Service was great and the food was cooked just right! The portions were big as well. I would definitely recommend Cevi Chef to anyone who loves Peruvian cuisine. Fantastic! Also the place changed hands back in January, so disregard any older bad reviews. I know Peruvian food and this place is TOPNOTCH!

used to recommend this place, sorry but the chef cook anything but Peruvian. I went there,(after long time) with two Peruvians friends and we were very disappointed. The Huancaina sauce was spoiled, The Arroz Chaufa was over seasoned, The Lomo Saltado was marinaded in Aji Panka, really??? since when. For the Causa, you have to smash the potato, ok? The service was bad and we were charge for the soiled Huancaina. But I have to admit that the Leche de Tigre was good. I tried to reach the owner before this post but they weren’t there.

Oh, boy, what an awful dining experience. I am familiar with this ethnic cuisine, and this place presents a sorry example of it. There was nobody else in the place at 6 p.m., which is an indication something is amiss, but the restaurant had been recommended. We each ordered the same items, a seafood chowder soup and the house recommendation specialty of Tiger’s milk ceviche, plus cake and coffee. Everything was bad. The tables are small, the seating is cheap uncomfortable banquet chairs. The water was served at room temperature, with no ice. The soup was not served first, the cool ceviche came out first after a long wait. It was supposed to have different types of seafood and herbs, but what appeared in a glass goblet was a very watery glop of cold puke. There was one small, overcooked curled up rubbery salad shrimp in this mess, which was almost completely just little chunks of generic imitation krab type stuff in a bath of bitter watery milky lime juice. Really not fit to serve a cat, or even as chum bait for sharks. I could not eat any of it. The soup came out a half-hour later, boiling hot. It was described as seafood chowder, but it was just cloudy salty broth with more generic imitation krab stuff cut into cubes, just one little rubbery shrimp, one empty mussel shell, and a few rubber bands that may have been calamari at one time. I could eat about half of that, skipping the mystery chunks. Because we were with companions, we had the recommended cake for desert, which was an ordinary cake soaked in milk, like eating a wet kitchen sponge. We ordered a coffee which was so bitter, it couldn’t even be sipped. There was a choice of «Inca coffee» or «American coffee», so we went for the latter, foolishly thinking it would be drinkable. When we asked the waitress why it was so bitter, she said the Inca coffee and American coffee uses the same grounds, cooked in the same pot. The waitress was a disinterested lump. For all this inedible mushy slop, the bill for two ended up being about $ 60. We could have got a decent steak for that in a good restaurant. Instead, we went home hungry and nauseated, and missing our dinner money. They couldn’t get anything right.

Why people get pizza next door is a crime and a mystery! My husbands churasco and my tacu tacu was literally butter knife tender! I had mine pobre style. The navi beans and rice were also amazing. Caffè Cubano was spot on and delicious. Eat here once, and you’ll be back.

This was my first time to the restaurant and I think it has very good selections and prices. Right when we walked in we were seated and the staff treated us like family. I had«Lomo Saltado» which was very good cooked to perfection and they made a substitution for me with no up charge. I would recommend this place to anyone interested in trying a new cuisine although Peruvian/Cuban cuisine has much of the same base foods as american so it’s nothing you can’t handle. I went out with my family and the waitress seen I was trying to take a picture and politely asked if we wanted her to take the picture of all of us together which I thought was nice. I think they have a family atmosphere and treats everyone that comes in as family which is nice as well. The desert was delicious I had«Tres Leches Cake» and enjoyed it. I gave it 5 stars for the tremendous staff, cleanliness of the restaurant and bathroom, food and desert, and price for what you get. I think you should definitely try it out!
