Love this place. My food is done in 5 to 10m and everything I’ve had is great. All of the employees are friendly. Highly suggested.

Finally made it to the Honey Tree, hoping for a place we can frequent and often. Hubby had the BLT and coleslaw, both given his«approval» — very good from my very finicky partner. Corned beef on rye with fries for me, the best corned beef so far in Sarasota, even surpassed the purported NY deli on Main St. Simply furnished but bustling. Atmosphere suits us to a T. Can’t wait to return so I can try other items on the menu and partner can have his usual BLT. Wait staff attentive and efficient. Aaaaah, we’ve finally found a small place we will be happy to visit with regularity :)

The Honeytree has recently become my «favorite breakfast spot» just over the past couple of months. I am from Naples, but my boyfriend lives in Sarasota, so whenever I am in town this place is a must for breakfast or for lunch! We tend to go here often for breakfast, always a hit! We both like their omelettes, I love the farmers omelette and there’s even an omelette covered with sausage gravy! If I’m not feeling something in one of the omelettes they let me customize one to my liking, big plus! I’ve tried their eggs Benedict once, it was good but their sauce is a little lackluster. But home fries are AMAZING! So crispy and good! The portions here are always just enough or more than. We’ve been in a couple times for lunch and yet again it didn’t disappoint. The food is really simple here, nothing fancy, but super tasty and hearty! Their lunch pItas and sandwiches are always rather large and satisfying, don’t forget to get their french fries! They always come out hot and crispy! The service can sometimes be hit or miss, but usually pretty friendly. I like that the staff is mostly female, feels more like a mom-and-pop diner and I love that. In several of the reviews I’ve noticed people mentioning the«old décor», ok so what? It may be a little outdated but it’s neither ugly nor dirty… Just plain and could use a new coat of paint and some wall art. When I’m there I’m not really paying attention to the décor anyways, I’m enjoying my food with the people I’m there with. Great prices, comfortable atmosphere, good service and filling, tasty grub! Stop in for a bite!

Solid breakfast place. Clean, and friendly. Very generous portions. Everything was fresh. Wasn’t a huge fan of the biscuits(too dry), but everything was solid. Solid go-to local breakfast joint.

The ambience is quite outdated and could use a visit from Robert Irvine. Old décor, leaning on the dingy side. The place could use a good cleaning as well. I ordered a veggie omelet minus the shrooms and onions. Food came out fairly quickly and after one bite, I see it was heavy on the shrooms. Waved down server and she got my order quickly replaced. Next one came out perfect and she apologized for error. Food was ok but as I’ve said before, really hard to mess up on omelets. Prices are reasonable and service ok, but wouldn’t make this a destination to run to. Just a-ok.

I do come here often for lunch. It’s a family owned restaurant with great food. I have had their breakfast sandwich when we would order for work and everything I’ve had has been delish. It does seem like there are not enough employees. Waiting to be seated, service and even paying. Outdated décor but that doesn’t stop me.

It was my wife and I’s first time here and we walked in with moderate expectations given other reviews and the appearance. It’s a diner made up with old décor and outdated booths and tables. We both ordered the chicken breast club with the request of no tomatoes and mayo on mine. The waitress came over and told us that the chef had accidentally put mayo on mine and that he was making a brand new one. This was a big win for me personally. Being allergic to mayo, I have seen plenty of restaurants try to wipe it off as opposed to making a new one. This could cause major issues so the fact that this place owned up to their mistake is a huge positive. The food was actually really good, the fries were crispy, and we didn’t have much to complain about. Given the fact that we didn’t try anything else and the restaurant is clearly outdated I can’t give it a 5, but a 4 seems reasonable given what we were dealt. Overall, well done!

Lined up out the door on weekends for breakfast. Numerous omelette choices from this huge 4 egg serving. Biscuits and gravy a big hit. They will make changes to accommodate you by tweaking the menu. Service is swift and cheerful. Prefer this breakfast joint over Peaches which is across the parkway.

Good place to get a delicious gyro. Good menu and nice waitstaff but the décor is seriously lacking. The price is ok. Overall it’s a little Greek food in an area that has no Greek options.

A little good and a lot of meh. Tepid service. Weak watered down dirty tasting iced tea. Had to call waitress three times to get basics(refills, butter, silverware, syrup) — didnt check back once voluntarily. Corned beef hash FROM A CAN — disgusting. Why not just serve chefboy r d and hamburger helper? Asked for rye toast, got wheat. Asked for more coffee, told ‘we just threw the rest out’. Really? Opening hours were not even over yet. Good: eggs and ham perfectly done. Portions sizes very good for cost. Won’t be coming back, with all the inconsistencies.

Great bacon and cheese omelette(thin not fluffy my preference and 4 or 5 slice of bacon in it) grits were creamy and buttery, and thick Texas toast. Short wait for food waitress not much personality but pleasant

We have been going to the Honey Tree for a while now. They never get my to go order right. My husband is told to check it each time before leaving due to the fact that they always leave something out. Went one time when computers were down and let me tell you e staff had no clue what to do. The cooks screwed everything up that day. Not cool. You should know how to operate a business without computers. I do like their food and you do get good portions but they need to check to go orders before letting them go out. It’s very frustrating to order a meal and not get what you want when you get it home.

Great food, friendly service. Simone was fantastic. Super! We had the omelette, which was wonderful, and she didn’t give us any attitude at all about sharing one entrée. Lovely.

good/great food but TERRIBLECUSTOMERSERVICE i work near by honey tree and some one from my office orders something from there EVERYDAY. im officially boycotting along with the rest of my coworkers and any of our customers. first of all they rely completely on their computer and cant seem to figure out a human brain can override decisions of the computer. herers just a few instances 1. my boss(who orders 3x a week) once went in and wanted a large orange juice. they said«we dont have large oj, only one size» so he asked if they could please take two of the small servings of oj and put them combined in a larger cup and charge him for 2 ojs… WOWMAGIC, now it is just like having a large oj. and they said no, this process can not be done 2. earlier this week a coworker wanted the ½ sandwhich and soup combo. asked if they could get ANY other side rather than the soup(even things much cheaper than soup, like potato chips, a side salad, or a piece of bread) and they said no, because there is no way to ring that up in the computer. oh really? you have an open kitchen 40 feet away from the counter. i think you can probably just walk back to the kitchen and verbally tell them, «hold the soup, give them a cup of lettuce instead» not so hard. 3. a couple weeks ago I went in to pay for a grilled cheese and soup and handed the cashier my debit card to pay. she took my debit card and then chose the option on the computer that i was paying with cash. for literally the next TEN minutes she just kept saying«i dont know how to have you pay with this, i hit the cash button» over and over again. i reminded her i work a few doors down and asked if we could settle up later becuase i needed to return to work and she said no. eventually after getting help from not one, but TWO other workers at the café, they figured out how to run my debit card for my lunch. 4. TODAY i walked in and asked for a side of pita bread, its $ 1.59 and we get sides of pita bread from them most days of the week. i only had a debit card and they said i couldnt have it bc they«dont take debit cards for such a small amount of money» this is not even true because we have done it before. !! BUT even if it was true, its A FREAKINGPIECEOFBREAD and we buy things from here everyday! can u just give it to me? or say i can pay tomorrow when i order more food from here anyway? but no. she preceeded to wrinkle up my receipt and throw it on the counter and let me leave with no food and obviously frustrated. what a stupid way to run a business. no common sense and no customer service. i will never be going to honey tree again and i urge others not to either.

I have been coming to the Honey Tree Café since the first week it opened. I have never had bad service & the couple of times I had a problem with my order the resolved it right away with no hesitation! My boyfriend & I ususally go a few times a month for breakfast, he always gets the french toast which is great & I have tried numerous things. One of my favorites is the Greek omlet! Great family owned business, but be aware that on the weekends they are pretty busy for breakfast & might have a little bit of a wait.

A recent dinner at Honey Tree re-affirmed what a great place this is and how lucky we are to have a family owned and operated restaurant in the Sarasota sea of chains and fast food joints. Two of us had the«special» of liver and onions($ 9.95) and our friend the stuffed cabbage. Each came with a choice of soup or salad, a side and rolls for the table. My wife had the Gyro platter which looked delicious. Service was prompt and pleasant and the food hot. We commented to each other the fact that all four plates were completely cleared of food when we finished. There was not a morsel left on anyone’s plate. Honey Tree has no theme, no flat screens, no server uniforms, no food runners, and no canned welcome speech. It does have good food, fair prices, and pleasant surroundings.
