Their selection is thoughtfully put together and emphasizes quality over quantity. A decent number of bottles, not a huge number of taps but all of them are upper level beers. One place they really shine is in showcasing local beers that aren’t available for bottle/can purchase, such as keg-only offerings from Cigar City etc. Being a Cigar City fan, I was really happy to try some of the draught-only ones like Vanilla Maduro and Patio Tools Irish Stout(the former was ok, the latter will make you forget the name«Guinness»). I also tried something from Green Flash called Cosmic Ristretto which was I can best describe as a Kahlua stout, recommended. They have several weirdo beers on special every time I go in but the regular rotations are also great such as the epic Stone Russian Imperial. The jukebox has a pretty limited selection, but they have a number of games like billiards which I’m pretty sure are free to play. Ample seating, bartenders are nice and pretty quick with service. Nice place to get some craft beers and to explore some obscure Florida kegs.

Mediocre at best. The place only had a handful of overly priced beer. The bartender was f-bombing and had a terrible attitude the whole time we were there. Maybe he was having a bad day but don’t take it out on the patrons, they’re his bread and butter.

Unreal beer selection and Reubens delivered from HH&DD next door. Staff is cool and the prices are reasonable.

Cool craft beer bar in the Gulf Gate area of Sarasota. If you are tired of the scene at the other local watering holes, this can be a nice alternative to tiki and biker bars. They have a nice rotating selection of brews and they also offer growler fills and flights. They have different specials and events along with regular comedy nights and live music. The bartender appeared to be pretty knowledgeable and was friendly. I will definitely be back when I’m in my hometown and appreciate that there is a craft beer bar closer to where I stay when I can’t make it out to Cock and Bull.

A beer lover’s dream! Located in the the Gulf Gate area of Sarasota, this place is just one of many bars and restaurants in that commercial area. But Mr. Beery’s stands out with about 20 beers(or more) on draft – many of which are hard to find. In addition to multiple Florida breweries on draft, there are many from around the country and abroad. Their slogan is «No Crap on Tap,» and that definitely holds true. Beers are served in the proper glassware to be enjoyed in the relaxed atmosphere. The music selection is always great and there are plenty of games to play. Games include: skee ball, darts, pool, large-size Jenga, and board games. TVs are all around to also keep you entertained with everything from sports to Discovery Channel documentaries to Food Network how-tos. Customers place orders at the bar ensuring that you’re never waiting for a waiter to make their way back to your table. The bartenders are super attentive and very knowledgeable. I can say I have never waited longer than 15 seconds to order a beer! There is no food service here, but you are allowed to bring in your own food from home or order out from any of the local restaurants. Pricing may be a little steep for Sarasota, but be sure to visit this place for happy hour on Monday’s – any beer served in a pint glass is only $ 3 all evening long. I live about a 1,000 miles away from this bar, but every time I visit Sarasota, I make sure to visit Mr. Beery’s.

A great place to stop for a drink. Excellent beer selection and even better people. While they don’t serve food themselves a number of excellent local places will deliver right to the bar for you.

Great bar with great atmosphere. Super relaxed and chill but in a modern and nice setting. It’s hard to find«chill» bars that also are not trashy or overpriced. Awesome bartenders and always has great Ciders which is my personal favorite!

Love this spot. Incredible beer selection, clean taps and lines and hard working/knowledgible staff. If you can pop in while Ferro is working behind the bar you are guaranteed a good time and usually pretty entertaining as well.

Coming from Chicago where the selections of craft beers are abundant, moving to Sarasota was a challenge in the craft beer department until a friend turned me on to Mr. Beery’s. I love this place! The staff are super knowledgeable, and helpful, and the beer selection is excellent! I’m not a total beer snob, however I do enjoy craft beer, and trying new craft beers. Thank god Mr. Berry’s exists!

One of the more enjoyable craft beer bars in the area. Mr beerys was one if the first to introduce infused beers to the region. The inventive array of entertainment and beer helps enforce this bar as the premier location for good beer and great times.

I had read such great things about the beer selection here so I decided to give it a try. I had just moved to the area when I first went here and was elated to see how many great craft beers they had on tap. The bartender… I think his name is «Meat» was really friendly and helpful and seemed knowledgeable about the beers on tap. He also didn’t hesitate to let me sample one or two before I settled on a beer.(Also, he wasn’t a pretentious jerk which can happen at craft beer places, sometimes.) In Florida, you’re allowed to smoke in certain bars so I was relieved to see that there was a no smoking policy here. The prices are reasonable for the selection that they’re offering and they seem to have deals certain days of the week/times of the day.

Great craft beers, friendly service and awesome atmosphere. Location in gulf gate sucks but once inside Beerys doesn’t disappoint. Plus life size Jenga! Prices are a bit high.

So I recently came back into town and stopped into my old fav microbrew spot, Beerys. The night’s I have had here in the past, learning about new beers, tasting with friends, and enjoying the overall vibe are invaluable. Beery’s was once a place of great respect for the product and staff alike. I work in the industry and everyone who knows Beerys knows that it is one of the best places to get rare brews and widen your horizons… Unfortunately, a lot has changed, my friends… Recently I was in and the beer has definitely taken a dive. I dont know who is doing the orders but I remember having some on fire craft beer here a year back and it seems to be sinking to status quo. Apparently under new ownership, Beerys has lost something in the exchange that I sincerely hope it can make back by the next time I bring my friends in to visit. I witnessed a guy WHISTLE at one of the bartenders, then demand beer rudely because he «Knew the owner». I did some asking and apparently he actually DOES. Other people in this owner group were being real jerks to the staff and I just couldn’t handle it so I left. Later I was told by my friends who stayed that it went on for some time… Not only has the selection gone down a bit but it seems that this new guy running the place just lets his buddies abuse older members of staff. Not cool.

One of the best craft beer bars in town(also see Growlers). I refer to it as the less douchey«World of Beer». Lots of daily specials and activities. Liberal samples allow you to try before you buy.

Call me a beers snob, but I was not impressed. They had a few unique beers, but not as great of a selection as I was expecting. Pretty girl with short hair behind the bar was super-friendly and knowledgeable.

Great service, best craft and Belgium beer selection in Florida, great special events, this is what a neighborhood bar is all about. The clientele here appreciates craft beer and that’s what makes this place gel. Other bars, take note: This is how you run a great business. Great craft beer, amazing staff that had superior knowledge of all craft beers. Unpretentious atmosphere. If your hungry they have all the menus of all the great restaurants in the Gulf Gate area and they will deliver to Mr Beery’s. Also, Mr. Beery’s is active in the local community with a Mr Beery’s running club and Wednesdays and a Cycling Club on Thursdays. Add to that all the special events like Beer and Cheese pairing party’s, Trivia parties etc. This is what keeps customers coming back.

My husband and I have had Mr. Beery’s on our radar for more than a year, since we saw that it – along with our local Redlight Redlight — made the top 100 craft beer bars in the country. We got there early, since we were on vacation and didn’t have anything better to do. There were a few others at the bar, and we immediately sat down and told the bartender we were from Orlando. They were thrilled to hear that we’re close to Redlight, since they know all about the place and have wanted to visit. Immediately we started reviewing the menus. They have their draft list on the chalkboard, as well as an extensive bottle list. My oh-so-observant husband noticed a very rare item: World Wide Stout. We’ve seen this before, only a couple of times. The 12-oz bottle retails for $ 9.99 but it’s nearly impossible to find, and if you see it at a restaurant you’d typically expect to pay about $ 18/bottle. To my surprise, they only wanted something like $ 14 which is extremely reasonable for a 20% alcohol RARE bottle! So my husband sipped on the World Wide Stout while I ordered a cool collaboration of two drafts — Evil Twin Yin and Evil Twin Yang. It’s a blend of an Imperial IPA and Imperial Stout which equals near-heaven status. The rest of the draft and bottled list was so impressive that we actually completed a 2nd round of drinks — seriously, when you down these high-ABV drinks, just one will do you in. But we couldn’t leave. Aside from excellent beer selection, terrific prices, and great service, I have to note that the staff here are so enthusiastic about what they do. They’re total beer nerds and aren’t afraid to show it! They share their knowledge without any layer of prestigious snobbery or stuffiness. If you want GREAT beer, go here. And if you’re a newbie and want to LEARN about great beer, GOHERE!

Beer drinkers, casual folk, pool players, and non-smokers, this is the place for you. Lots o’ craft beer here, fun theme events, relaxed atmosphere, darts/pool tables/ring toss/giant jenga, couches and coffee table, cool staff — all the makings of a great place to drink and hang out. I don’t drink beer, but the beer drinkers I know are happy with the selection here. What I like most about this place is that it’s comfortable and there is no smoking. There’s no pretentiousness at all and you can play pool without a smelly smoky pillow in the morning.

Simply put — the BEST beer selection in Sarasota with the most knowledgeable staff. It is a non-smoking bar(yay!) with food delivery available from most of the area restaurants. Games– Pool, Darts, Foosball, SKEE ball — collect 40 skeeball tickets and get yourself a free beer! Excellent happy hour until 8pm, and special events galore. Beer Schools, trivia, 5K to name a few. Stop in, you won’t be disappointed.
