Amazing store. Huge selection of liquor beer and wine. Also amazing cigar room. From the outside looks small but when you walk in it’s the whole building.

The store looks like hell inside, seems disorganized and everything is stacked to the ceiling which makes it hard to see and navigate. However… they have EASILY the best selection in the entire Sarasota area and decent prices to boot. You can find all manner of old rums, whiskeys organized by origin, a crazy deep gin selection, every kind of beer and carbonated booze under the sun(including this amazing hard root beer that is bottled perfection), and like two full aisles of vodka. They have wine too. Probably the most impressive is the liqueur selection, every section is great but they have every kind of weird liqueur you can imagine. If you want St. Germain for example, they have 4 or 5 different elderflower liqueurs you can try. They also give free samples when you walk in. Also there’s some papaya and banana growing in the parking lot, which is cool. If you can get past the packed-in craziness of the store’s appearance, definitely give Norman’s a shot because the selection is super intense. Also there’s some rare items behind the counter, including some Jefferson Reserve which I haven’t seen in ages, probably goes for at least $ 200. Anyways, happy booze hunting!

Well, yes, some(not all) of their prices beat the competition but shopping here has been for this wine/liquor aficionado not very pleasant. One walks in to be totally ignored by the staff, except for the young woman at the cash register; she at least has a smile and a greeting. Wander the aisles, run into a fella ticketing bottles who succeeds in ignoring one. Does anyone say«May help?» I’ve found myself on my own here twice now and the only thing I needed was a reply to «where are the French white wines» and«do you carry» such-and-such a brand of vodka. No chance. Why shop among these aloof people when there are so many pleasant staffers elsewhere?

The service at Normans has gone downhill. They are not as friendly and helpful as they used to be. Also, while the prices remain very good, it seems that their selection of fine wines is lacking — not as extensive as it once was. I advise to buy liquor and beer here, but to shop elsewhere for better wines.

Normans liquors is wonderful family owned and operated liquor store! Normans has everything you are looking for and more. I love going there because the customer service is amazing, they are always happy to help you with anything you need and are extremely knowledgeable on the products. Normans also has tasting most all of the time so you can sample products you might not normally try. I wouldn’t take my business anywhere else !!!

Norman’s has a wonderful selection of wine and specialty beers at a great value. Just as important, the owners are knowledgable, friendly and helpful… a much better option than the«warehouse» wine stores creeping into Sarasota.

should’ve written this a long time ago . Yes they do have good pricing on certain items but not all and it’s not worth it(considering how rude the owners are). The few times I did go in I was treated like I just walked off the worst street in a bad neighborhood(and I was wearing my scrubs). The owners don’t give any respect to their consumers, especially when you ask for help in locating a specific item. The younger owner looks at u like you’re an idiot for asking him a question and one time he actually did call me an idiot(under his breathe but loud enough for me to hear) and thats the truth, I live in Palmer Ranch area and I can’t wait for Total Wine to open.

Great selection of wine, liquor and beer! Don’t forget about the cigars as well! I always find exactly what I’m looking for! They have a wonderful sales staff also. If you ever need suggestions on wine or need to know what goes in a specific drink just ask! They are always willing to help! Best liquor store in Sarasota!

Norman’s is great for not only having the best prices in town but for also having the most hard to find liquors. There are also $ 1 high end liquors in the tiny bottles. This is the place for stocking a mini bar at home or buying cigars or fine spirits.

We went to Norman’s twice while visiting my boyfriend’s family in Sarasota, and both times were a flaming success. A friend who was traveling with us needed cigars(for nights in the hot tub) and found the exact kind he enjoys in the extensive humidor. We found every kind of alcohol we could ever want or need among the towers of booze, and the staff was friendly, albeit a bit suspicious of the three of us in our sunglasses and pasty white New England skin. Not a great place to go if you’re clumsy and knock things over frequently, as the aisles are narrow and piled high with bottles and boxes. Yay Norman’s!

Excellent selection of booze and cigars! It’s a must! This store has everything you need in the way of booze and cigars in the greater Sarasota area. If you are a cigar and single malt fan, as I am, then you have to see the selection at Normans. They have great prices and an even better selection.

Love it. A half gallon of Absolute Mandarin for $ 27.99!!! Yes a half gallon… Best liquor prices I’ve ever seen. Walked in and a girl was giving out free tasters of the 12 yr Baldweinie.

I don’t give out a lot of 5 star reviews any longer, but except for the tiny aisles in this place — it’s a 5+! After several days of trawling ABC, Superbay and WalMart liquor sections, I was definitely jonesing for a decent selection of beer. It’s almost as bad today as it was when I left here in 1998 — Anheuser Busch still owns the place… But we saw Norman’s on one of our trips and decided to return. What a success! This place has a fantastic selection of beer — even Dogfish Chicory Stout for under $ 11! A fantastic selection of wines, including some great cellar selections. A walk-in humidor that actually had some Acid Krush, tremendous selection of single malts(Balvenie 17 anyone?), and what a large selection of rums from everywhere that Zane Lamprey has ever Jim the Copped! Definitely worth a stop, or two… Please keep this place in business so it’s around the next time I’m in Sarasota!
