It was great food! Only problem is. We were rushed out by the owner… He seemed to want to flip out table super fast. Even though three other tables were open and nobody was waiting. Wasn’t very pleasant to me. Good food. Just ruined by a rush.

Went for lunch at this busy place, short wait and host quickly seated companion and self. Fairly extensive menu with small plates/bowls to larger fare. We chose spring rolls(2 per order), 2 kinds — shrimp and shredded pork, companion had Thai soup(slightly spicy, she said«just right») and I had the shrimp rice noodle soup(choice of rice or egg noodles. all the choices were tasty and service was very good. a little pricey for lunch,$ 32 w/o tip and no drinks, worth it for«on occasion». would definitely go again! happy trails

We absolutely recommend Phở Cali. Whether you’re in a hurry or have plenty of time, and you enjoy Vietnamese food, this is the place for you. If you haven’t tried it, then I would highly suggest you come here and try it. All of our meals were excellent. They also offer special times to come in for better prices on the menu. We’ve been wanting to try Phở Cali and we’re very glad that we did.

One star deducted. Thai tea too sweet, mopping with Clorex while we were eating, and wilted side dish for phở. I will still go back for my favorite lemongrass phở.

Always a great meal. Hubby and I came here for lunch today. It was about 1pm and the place was almost full but they have good and fast service so tables turn over quickly. We started with the app sampler, 2 fresh rolls with shrimp and pork, 2 crispy eggrolls and 4 crispy shrimp it comes with 2 dipping sauces and a pile of of pickled cabbage and dicon. We also ordered the pancake with tofu and veggies and a pile of shredded dicon and carrots. All were DELISH!!! We also ordered the beef phở with rare beef and meatballs. It was so so good. Lots of veggies, bokchoy, broccoli, snow peas, bean sprouts. A good amount of beef and 3 meatballs. Great broth flavor! Can’t wait to come back.

I am a Phở snob. I love good Phở. I visited Phở Cali for the first time as recommended by a friend. The place was packed with a diverse group of Asian food enthusiasts. The place was clean and the service was good. I ordered the basic beef broth Phở and summer roll. The summer roll was good. The phở came in a nice big bowl. The meat was tender, the noodle was fresh, soup was good. I tasted a little hint of sweetness. I think a little MSG. The price was a little high(in NYC, large Phở is about $ 7 – 9).

What a serendipity! Didn’t expect to find a great Vietnamese restaurant in this part of the town! We were craving some Vietnamese food after being on the road all day, and this place was more than fabulous to satiate our needs. It seemed like a local favorite, considering we were the only apparent tourists in the restaurant. :p We ordered several dishes including grilled pork &rice, vermicelli, phở, etc. And every dish we had was very delicious. And the staff were very nice and prompt. If you want some no fail Vietnamese place, this is it! Highly recommended!

So glad they are back open! Love this place and eat lunch there once or twice per week. Owner and staff are great and remember us. I would love to have seen some new décor after being closed for like 2 months but hey its not the décor its the food which is still fresh and good.

Fantastic Vietnamese food, We have tried the crispy tofu, Spring roll & Various phở & everything is top notch, the best by far in ManaSota area!!! Great quick friendly service at good prices, parking can be a bit troublesome depending on the time of day & day of the week.

HURRAY!!! PHOCALI has finally reopened. It has been a long three months, but the wait is over and the food is even better than ever. The Phở and Tapioca dumplings were absolutely delicious. And Harrison is always so welcoming. Patty Miller

Phở Cali is open! After 3 ½ months without our favorite Vietnamese food, our taste buds were reborn tonight! Our favorite waiter was glad to see us and we were glad to see him. Life is good — Sarasotans can rejoice — Phở Cali has survived the Orange Avenue/Main Street«round-a-bout» construction! Enjoy!

The Phở was perfect! So fresh and even had a TON leftover to take home for dinner. The spring rolls were excellent as well as was the service. Very fast, courteous and efficient.

In short this place is awesome! The long of the short is that I have been here several times. The décor is very basic and nothing very special. The room is moderately sized not too small and not too large. The service is always fast and efficient. Last week I ate here and there was some construction going on on Main Street and they STILL had a full room of people eating delicious viet food. Their spring rolls are always delicious along with the sauce it comes with. I got the Thai tea with tapioca pearls which was sweet and very rich. It was a nice contrast with my Pork Buhn with egg rolls and shrimp because the homemade chili paste on the tables is an absolute must if you love spicy food. I absolutely love this place. Editing 2÷17÷2016 Still the best Vietnamese in SRQ.

This place is so good! So far I’ve had the crispy shrimp rolls, crispy egg rolls, shrimp vermicelli, and the special combo fried rice and all have been delicious. Portions are huge, service is super fast and friendly, and it’s cheap.

Phở Cali is one of the places that we are always sure to get to when we are in the area. My family and I ate lunch there yesterday and as usual the meal was fantastic. The service was as efficient as always and the food was served quickly. Although I always feel a bit rushed to order, I can tolerate it as I understand that they like to turn the tables over quickly.

Something to explore before the classical guitar concert in Sarasota. We have decided to stop by the downtown area of city of Sarasota. Follow by Rachel M review 2013, we decided to visit this place. The location is great in the downtown of City of Sarasota. We have sat down and order our food. We have inform our server we have concert on the way and we have 40 minutes to dine. Our appetizer came with less than 7 minutes. we have ordered the house special appetizer. It contains 2 fresh rolls with vermicelli noodle wrap with broil shrimp in the rice skin roll, 2 wonton skin wraps and deep fried, and 2 fried shrimp spring rolls. the appetizer is great and tasty. The material is fresh. Our main course came in 5 minutes after the appetizer. We have order the quail fried rice and Vietnamese Phở with different type of slice beef and tripe and tendon. The phở is delicious with the broth prepared correctly. The quail fried rice is delicious and they are prepared in the high BTU wok. The Quail is deep fried with sweet soy sauce. Although they are not as the standard we have in Tampa, but they delicious enough to eat. It is finger licking good. Overall the service is fast. We are in and out the restaurant within 40 minutes and arrive to the concert with 3 minutes to spare.

This is my favorite phở place in Sarasota. They are always busy during lunch and service is not too great. But I continue to come back because the food is great. I like their bun xeo, phở tai, and bun bo hue. I usually get my orders to go since I am not a fan of the atmosphere.

Places like Phở Cali have no need for Unilocal! Owners of restaurants turning their tables three or even four times per lunch service, every lunch service, are too busy cooking and serving to bother with written reviews. All the critics they need are standing in a line at the front door waiting to eat. Dissection is pointless in the face of appetites with cash. Pointless and unnecessary. Whether Phở Cali is an authentic Vietnamese experience makes no difference, although it is close to the real deal. The food is sufficiently exotic to wake the most jaded punter, so that if your palate is fatigued by endless bland-o burgers and fried mystery meals, your choices are clear: go Vietnamese, go Indian, go Thai — go anywhere without a ‘grille’. Or ‘American cheese’ for that matter. Fast food be damned, get Phở-ed.

My mother and I were craving for Vietnamese and boba tea, and only one place had both. It was Phở Cali. Service is mediocre buy their food is delicious. The image of dish #76 caught my attention when we passed by the restaurant and that was what I ordered with the shredded pork skin spring roll as an appetizer and a Passion fruit boba tea. #76 is mostly a cold dish but the pork bbq is cooked well and the flavoring is done well too. The Rice noodles were sweet and so were the sliced carrots. The orange thing, I can’t remember if it was the shrimp paste but I didn’t have an allergic reaction to it and it was slightly spiced. The only thing I didn’t like was that there was a young male server who brought out the meals and distributed silverware. He had dropped a pair of chopsticks on the floor and still served it to a table across from us. Ew! And people skills are needed.
