I found this place because of a friend’s recommendation the day before I moved away! I’m so upset because as a lover of France it was wonderful to see a legitimately French restaurant. The sandwiches are delicious and were exactly like the ones I had in France. The owners and chefs were clearly French. Such a lovely, genuine place. I hope I can return one day!

An unexpected pleasure in a strip mall. I’ve always been a fan of French food, but I hadn’t heard of Rick’s’ until a friend took my wife & I there for dinner. We had a variety of dishes, all were excellent. The place is small and décor is not fancy, but it really does have the feel of a small café in Paris.

What a gem! Boucher Royale was the special tonight: chicken and shrimp over a puff pastry with mushrooms, peas, and creamy white sauce seasoned perfectly. Red Snapper was wonderful! My new fave restaurant ! Shhh… Oh, just tell everyone! This food needs to be shared! Tucked away on Siesta Drive at the end of a strip. Don’t be intimidated by location. Wonderful! big food bang for the buck.

Wonderful food and service was excellent. We had two couples so we tried a good sampling of the menu ranging from the pâté to warm Brie and salads to meat and fish and finally desserts. Each one was better than the last and delicious. The service was timely but never rushed and always with a cheery smile. This place has been in business quite a while, and we’re only sorry we hadn’t gone in sooner. It’s a well kept secret that is definitely worth becoming a regular stop.

If my review was for food only, this restaurant would get 5STARS… my husband and I decided to skip an appetizer after taking a peek at the dessert menu. We think we made the right choice. We both ordered the snapper that came with a nice salad with great dressing on the side. The fish was expertly prepared with wonderful spicing. the cheesy potatoes could have been a main course for me, and the veggies, a nice fall blend were so tasty… We ended our meal with excellent quality coffee and profiteroles… highly recommend. Now for the not so good side. The service leaves something to be desired. Once we decided our main course, we ordered a bottle of wine. We waited… Rick seated other diners, chatted with other diners, served wine to other diners but never made it back to our table with the wine. Not until our dinner was served did he come back to our table. We told him he forgot our wine. He never apologized, nothing. We then ordered 2 glasses of wine, a small pour that arrived 5 minutes later. We would have liked more coffee with our dessert but only after finishing our dessert and waiting for our tab did his wife ask if we wanted more coffee. Not now we didn’t. We waited 10 minutes and finally had to stand to get Rick’s attention. He was busy chatting again. We will definitely go back, hope they get a real waiter during season. If it wasn’t for his wife cooking and assisting in the dining room, who knows what would happen???

Beautiful pâté, french onion soup, and main corses to die for. Lovely little place filled, with amboence of a true french bisro. Cassoulet was superior specially with beautiful hand crafted sausages.

Absolutely fabulous dinner! All of the dishes were cooked to perfection, with high quality ingredients. The location is quaint and quiet. Service is very friendly and professional. Deserts are out of this world! Skip all of those high-priced pretentious places and get some delicious, authentic French cuisine prepared by real French chefs. I only wish they could open one near where I live in Texas.

I am a fan of French cuisine so after I spotted this bistro it was on my list to check it out. First impression — quiet and clean. It is tiny but cozy. Friendly service was a bonus from a beginning. Small family run business which opens his place only for dinners and closes before 9pm and also they are not open on Sunday and Monday. I ordered Le Canard du Chef Michele(Duck Cassoulet) with White Beans, Sausage, Cognac, Onion and White Wine Sauce served with Salad with Homemade French Vinaigrette(on the side) for $ 25.50. My boyfriend had Filet Mignon de Boeuf Sauce Bordelaise — Beef Filet Mignon with Bordelaise Sauce for the same price. He loved his meat — well prepared, just to his liking. My meal was more homemade than restaurant style, large portion of healthy meal. One dislike — it was somewhat on salty side probably due to the presence of sausage. Freshly baked baguette was yummy and salad served as a part of the meal was freshly prepared and dressing was great. I may come back to try another meal one day.

There is something just so cozy and familiar about Rick’s French Bistro. It kinda feels like you walked into your BFF’s(Best French Friend’s) house and their mom(who just happens to be an amazing chef) whips you up a rustic French feast. Yeah, you DO have to pay at the end, but, if you’re like me, you’ll have to hold back from giving Chef Michele a hug on the way out!, she’s just so sweet and endearing! We found the ambiance charming and the food expertly prepared: After we shared a plate of pâté(very rich and rustic), I had the lamb chops; so tender and flavorful. My husband enjoyed the mixed grill(off the specials board), which he devoured. Stuffed as we were, we could not resist sharing an order of profiteroles. So good! If you enjoy smaller ‘chef-owner’ restaurants which are big on character and low on pretensions, give Rick’s a try.

Authentic intimate little French restaurant reminiscent of my favorite Parisian bistros. Excellent escargot, Fr Onion Soup, and beef bourguignon. The house salad and homemade dressing is yummy, warm fresh baguettes come with the meal. Owners very charming!

This is a great cozy place with awesome French food. Everything my boyfriend and I had was delicious, especially the brie appetizer and the filet.

You wouldn’t think this would be a gourmet place, in a tiny store front in a strip mall, but it’s excellent. The guy who own’s it, Rick, takes your order and there’s also a Japanese cook. The food is delicious and the restaurant very cozy and authentic. Great place for a romantic night.

The name is actually Rick’s Bistro. Been in business for years. Ordering off the special board is the way to go, though the menu has tried and true staples. If you speak any french you will really enjoy the experience. Nice little hideaway.
