Tried the Toasted Mango because our friends recommended it to us and it was close to our hotel. Parking is a little scarce but there is additional parking near by. Service was quick and friendly. I was very pleased with my large breakfast of their house made corned beef hash. It is not often you find a restaurant that actually makes their own instead of using the stuff out of the can. I chose a potato pancake and biscuit for my sides, I thought the mango butter for my biscuit was a nice and delicious touch.

It’s alright. I’m not over the top impressed but not bad either. Just average on my books. Looked super promising. The environment is very good for breakfast and service is speedy.

Their food is not only beautiful, but also delicious. It is our first time here and we will for sure return. The staff is super friendly and attentive. This is a experience worth having in SARASOTA.

Thought I’d already done a review, but I guess not. Even though we live in Ohio, we’ve been here at least 15 – 20 times in the last 2 years. Before yesterday’s visit, it would have been easily 4+ stars each visit. This time it wasn’t up to standards. The main reason was the food. We were served old/spoiled/sour? potatoes and other items not cooked as ordered. Because of this, we are saving our $ 80+ for the next 2 – 3 days breakfasts and going to DailyEats. I was there twice last weekend and enjoyed the food. Hopefully Mangos gets their act together next time we are there.

I’ll be the first to admit that breakfast food is not really my thing. Granted, I’m allergic to eggs, so waffles, pancakes, muffins, donuts, and obviously eggs, are off limits. My wife however, major fan of breakfast. So every once in a while I’ll take the plunge and we’ll go for breakfast knowing that she gets to enjoy all the things I can’t have. Sad story folks. All kidding aside, on to the review! I’ll make this one easy. Let’s roll with the positives and negatives. Positives — The food. I ordered a plate with whole wheat toast, home fries, bacon, and sausage. My wife had the create your own omelet. She said it was fantastic, and that it was one of the better omelets she has had. — The large selection of options on the menu. — The casual, laid back atmosphere. — The mango sweet tea. Negatives — Wait time. Man, we must have waited at least 15 minutes for our server to come and take our order. We then waited another 25 minutes for our food. — The staff can be so busy that they forget to check back on you. — We got our food before another couple did that was sitting next to us, despite them ordering first. Summary — It was really good food, but the wait time really killed my high expectations given how highly this place is spoken of. I understand that they’re busy, but when you’re sitting there ready to order for 15 minutes and no one even steps outside to check on you, that’s a problem. We will probably give this place another go, but not before we try out other breakfast places in the area.

My family and I drove past here and joked about it… it didn’t look like much from the road, and the name is kind of goofy, but then my wife was like«Well, I do love mangoes…» so we checked it out the next time we drove past. And it’s a really nice dinerish-joint(and yes, with some good mango items on the menu). Lots of emphasis on breakfast(all day), with great pancake and waffle selections, but they had sandwiches and other lunch options as well. They’re big on smoothies, too. It was a little crowded/crazy and it took a while for the waitress to get to us, but everything was tasty.

A great start to my weekend I stopped in on this Saturday morning a little after 7, just after they opened. Advantages to arriving so early were it was not crowded and there was parking. I received a friendly greeting and could choose my table. Coffee was quickly delivered. For breakfast I went with their homemade corned beef hash and eggs. It has an option where you can include onions, mushrooms and peppers. I did and it was a very nice change to the usual dish. While I thought it was a little light on the corned beef, the overall mixture made for an excellent meal. It came with a side and I selected their potato cake with applesauce, another item that is uncommon. Service was top notch. Even though I was the first order in the kitchen it still took less than 10 minutes, so they were ready to go this morning. People checked on me a few times and kept my coffee warm. I liked the banter between the staff and customers, a friendly comfortable place. It has been too long since my last visit. I assume they still get busy on the weekends, I see no reason why that would have changed. Parking used to be a problem, might still be, but they did have a sign that there was additional parking across 5th St so maybe parking has improved.

When my friends sang this places praises, I was skeptical. I’ve driven past the Toasted Mango nearly every day for something or another, and its appearance is very unassuming. It’s nestled into a modestly sized building with a fairly small sign, so it’s easy to miss if you don’t know where to look. But boy do they blow you away. We had trouble finding parking because of the overwhelming amount of people waiting to eat there, and it wasn’t because the service was slow or anything. They just have that many customers. Our wait time was about 30 minutes, and it really took about that time. Once it was our turn, we sat down and were immediately attended to. We got our drinks within minutes, and they took our order promptly. It took maybe 10 — 15 minutes and then our food was with us, which was astounding considering how packed the place was. My friends ordered the Waffle N’ Eggs and the Fruit-topped waffle, while I ordered the Eggs Benedict with a bowl of fruit on the side. They both finished their waffles quickly, saying how great they were(I’ll have to take their word, I’m not much for waffles) and I was tentative to try mine. Eggs Benedict is something extremely difficult to make well. The egg has to be cooked by an extremely competent chef too not be too well done(with a yolk that’s hard as a rock) or too underdone(where it looks like someone hocked a loogie on your plate) and let me tell you, it was perfectly cooked. A nice runny yolk on each half of the(perfectly toasted) english muffin. The canadian bacon was alright, a little thick for my tastes, but still good. The only things in my meal that I can complain about are the potatoes served on the side. They were very dry, tough and flavorless. I would’ve preferred they just left those off. As for the fruit bowl, it was decent with fresh fruits(strawberries, melons, grapes, and ONE piece of pineapple) but there was some soggy cooked bacon bits at the bottom of the bowl? I’m not a vegetarian so I wasn’t terribly offended, but if I was, I know I wouldn’t have been too pleased. The waitstaff are all so friendly and make you feel genuinely welcomed. Will be returning to try out some more of their dishes.

I come here for breakfast each year when I visit Sarasota for Spring Training. The food is a 5⁄5. This trip we had: French Toast 5⁄5 stars. So good! Omelette 5⁄5 The only reason I give this a 4⁄5 is because the staff are so busy they barely have time to be cordial to you. I still go back because the food is worth it!

Three of us came in for breakfast after the Sarasota Half Marathon, around 9:30, and were seated right away. I have Celiac’s, and they were able to accommodate my meal with their delicious gluten free bread. The mango butter was tops.

My friends are always raving about this place and it’s a favorite at my office for breakfast and lunch. It’s okay… that’s it. I have yet to have a spectacular breakfast or lunch there, so I’m not sure what all of the fuss is about. The parking is horrible, there is almost always a wait, but service is consistently good.

I was there Sunday morning with my husband. This place was highly recommended to me by my friend. The food was really good ! My husband ordered their amazing French toast, and I had«build your own wrap» with potato pancake as a side dish and freshly squized grapefruit juce . The only thing we got disappointed with, is when we got our bill. My husband notices that we were charged 4 time $ 2.50 for something it didn’t say for what. So, we asked a server«why, and for what» she went to the cashier and came back apologizing. They thought I had 4 glasses of grapefruit juce instead of one !! Wooo! I hope it was an innocent mistake … So ! I warn everyone. CHECKYOURBILL!!!

We drove out of our way for a Sunday breakfast based on the restaurant being highly recommended as her«go to» breakfast place. We arrived at 9am ish, and had to wait shortly outside for an inside table. To say the pace inside was frenetic would be an understatement — there appears to be lots of servers and they are all busy. Ours was no exception. Breakfast was on the table much quicker than either one of us expected. 2 eggs over easy — turned into 2 eggs runny — too runny for my taste.(Similar feedback from my companion). The sausage patties were good, and if you like mango, the mango butter was good as well. I’ve had better at lower prices with a bit less crazy activity. Won’t be back again.

I came here on my weekend get away to visit some college friends. The first time I came I got the Sarasota omelet. It was delicious! Service and super friendly owners made this place inviting. Second time I came they were busier and wasn’t that impressed with the meal. Eggs were runny and we waited a while to get served. I would go back next time I’m in town. Get the omelet!

Seems to be that all reviews are either very good or very bad. This in particular is very good and for a good reason. It is simply the best breakfast in Sarasota. Interesting dishes, very friendly staff and Sandi and Kim(owners) are the most engaging. Consistent and tasty dishes are their mainstay. Been coming here for years and they deserve all of the praise of running a fantastic operation. Keith(the Bloody Mary guy)

A local told us about this place. So glad they did because while staying at the Hyatt Regency we were happy not to eat in the hotel. Anyone staying at the Hyatt and Hotel Indigo in downtown Sarasota can walk here easily. You can also walk from the Ritz buts its a bit further. Toasted Mango had a lot of options but we chose their breakfast special for $ 7 coffee extra. eggs potatoes bacon. Its typical breakfast fare but the restaurant is fresh and beachy Sarasota style. They even have mimosas. Open for breakfast and lunch only.

I was tempted to bestow a 3 start rating but considering I’ve been here before and always really enjoyed it, I’m hoping my last visit experience was just a fluke. I was excited to take a friend to Toasted Mango who had never been there before so of course I talked it up and bragged about how awesome it is first. When we walked through the door there were 3 ladies behind the counter shuffling papers around and doing whatever people behind the counter do. It was the most awkward reaction and vibe that we got. I was not paying attention because I was reading the drink/smoothie specials and being that my friend had never been there, she didn’t know you seat yourself. So they all just kind of stared for a few seconds until one responded in a half annoyed tone, «Ok, you can sit wherever you want.» I would expect that to be an automatic direction given to everyone but instead it made is feel stupid the way is was said. The food was great. I had the smoked salmon platter. The portion was huge and I could not finish it. My second round of frustration was that we were there for an hour and after our food was served, no one came back to check on us until they brought the check. Super frustrating when you look around and see people doing nothing around you. I’ll be back though… great food at great prices!

It’s well advertised and decent breakfast /lunch grease spoon. Open ’til 3pm and now some eves for dinner. Funky décor but they accommodate just about anything you want to eat. It’s over-rated but serves unpretentious honest food. Definitely worth a visit if you want some breakfast.
