Usually empty, especially at night, which makes it great for shopping. Never runs out of products and employees are really nice. Especially one who usually moves carts. He always says hi and smiles even at the craziest times. Better than the safeway near Bollinger but lines for checkout are long, as only a couple of registers are open at one time.

One of the cleaner Safeways that I’ve been to, but the customer service was absolutely frustrating when the deli workers took a bit too long doing their job. There was a line of about five people and only two workers at the deli. Now, I don’t blame the short amount of staff members at the stations, but I was a bit disappointed in their work ethic in terms of trying to serve a huge amount of customers at a reasonable pace. My friend and I were in a hurry and dropped by the deli area to grab one sandwich and a bag of chicken strips and expected this visit to be five minutes or less. Unfortunately, our expectations weren’t met when the employee took over five minutes making my simple sandwich. I also swear there was a policy that said that you can get a sandwich free if they take above a certain amount of minutes to make one. The female employee probably took four minutes putting the ingredients in my sandwich and an entire minute to cut my sandwich — I swear that I can make three sandwiches in the time that she made mine. Also, while she put my sandwich in the oven, she could have helped my friend with her chicken strips. Instead, she decided to stand next to the oven for over a minute and wait for my sandwich. Way to help the other people in line! Anyways, I just never felt such slow customer service at any deli station at a Safeway and I will probably never come back here if I needed a quick lunch stop.

Always a looonnngggg line!!! I’m standing in the freezer section again. No threes a crowd here. I often go to the Los gatos and Campbell stores and there is rarely a line. What’s up?

8:30pm on a Monday night, only two registers open. Line extends over 20 people. Overall, everything else is fantastic, people in line are patient and friendly, but they are just understaffed or do no utilize their manpower well this evening.

This review is for the deli sandwich counter. Attitude is everything in customer service. The woman who helped us was very rude and you could definitely tell she did not want to be working this morning. A simple smile would do the trick.

I come here often for groceries since I live only a mile away. I kind of have a love-hate relationship with this place. The lines can get crazy long because they usually only have 2 registers open(at least whenever I go there). It gets so annoying especially when people are in a rush and if people in front of you have a shitload of groceries and you only have a few. This Safeway needs to advertise more on job openings and hire more people! Another annoying thing is that I noticed that they sell expired items and put them on sale. For example, they were selling Oreos that expired 6 months ago that I almost bought. Umm… really now? On the brighter side, I like how I usually don’t have a problem finding the things I have on my shopping list and that the store isn’t too big. Sometimes I find large grocery stores overwhelming and harder to find things. However, I purposely avoid coming on the weekends because of how crowded it gets. I would advise coming here on the weekdays, if anything. Even coming here during the dinner or lunch rush won’t be as chaotic as any time on the weekends. But honestly, if I didn’t live so close to here, I probably would prefer shopping somewhere else.

Just about the worst managed businesses ever — they have no clue on how many checkers to have. Would help to at least put in a self check stand instead of the 25 people in line at the only open stand.

I used to work at this safeway but had to move 3 years ago. I agree they need to have more cashiers because almost everyday I worked they only had 1 unless someone complained or one of the managers noticed. I loved working with Susan, Shanae, and Yvette who were cashiers. I’m not sure if they still work there but they were really good at customer service. I also miss Sharlette who was the assistant manager. The nicest and best assistant manager they had. I did like that the store was well organized and they tried to keep it clean.

Worse store ever. i live nearby, and things have gotten worse in last 6 months. 30 min lines filling up the entire alley are routine here. Very bad customer service

Amazing customer service. I bought beef jerky here and it turned out to be expired for a WHOLEYEAR. I came in to return it and they refunded me and gave me one free beef jerky.

The management at Safeway needs to hire more checkers. I went there last night at 7: 53 pm and there were nine people in line and only one checker. I tried to call Safeway from my cell phone to speak with management while waiting in line — no one picked up. This same scenario has repeated for at least seven times in the past. I always tell myself: You should have gone to Gene’s Market. Gene’s Market closes at 8 pm. The workers at Safeway are great but the management doesn’t care or is inept or perhaps both. 8 pm is not that late. Management needs to have at least three checkers on site at all times to cover when things are busy. Until then, I recommend going to Gene’s where the service is top notch. You just have to get there before 8 pm!

Do not come here after 6pm on a weekday during it’s busiest time of the day. Three registers open; 10 – 15 people in line for each one. No express lanes open. This is the third time in two weeks that I’ve experienced this. I will go to Gene’s from now on during this time.

This is a nice, clean Safeway. It has a spacious parking lot. Not very crowded at all. There were plenty of registers opened this morning when I went. There was only 1 person ahead of me and 4 checkers were available. The store is well stocked. Like all of the other Safeways around, not the most talkative employees, but the employees here seemed quick and efficient. Something about the Safeway employees and not being super customer service friendly like Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods. Maybe a shake up in top management to get their employees to become more customer service friendly???

I’m SO disappointed… Checkers who I’ve had personal relationships with over the years being transferred to other locations… Management obviously sucks… Miss my Safeway crew… Never the same… LAME x FOREVER…

I came here on a Sunday morning to the deli area, to purchase a sandwich. Angelina helped me. I ordered a turkey pesto avocado. My friend quickly reminded me that it was supposed to be a large instead of a regular. I apologized and told her it was going to a be a large. I asked for sourdough instead of foccacia. I could see the look on her face she wasn’t happy, but I didn’t ask in the middle of her preparing it, which is why I don’t understand her grumpiness. She made it for me, but it was a regular. I asked her to make me another half to complete my full large sandwich and she charged me two regular sandwiches. It was too early and I was feeling much too nice, but I couldn’t stand the service she gave me. Angelina turned to my friend, smiled and handed him my sandwich. Such lousy service won’t get you very far. Granted, I shouldn’t have expected much from Safeway, but I am just as human as you are.

This place is kept very clean and everything is stocked neatly. Employees frequently walk around doing their side work and they even ask if you need assistance. Only reason I’m not giving 6 stars is because they always have one cashier late at night and many big boxes are left laying around but not entirely in your way. Love that they have a starbucks here and a customer service counter.

Safeway Bakery at Argonaut is consistently helpful and is a good bakery for a chain store. Birthday cakes for kids special classroom cookies or cupcake-cakes. Kids love it! Special shoutout to LUCIA in Bakery Dept. You can call the bakery at 5:15am! Just don’t push your luck for one day turn around. It all depends how busy they are. However they always try. Lastly there are some very tough customers who I have witnessed demanding bakery & deli personnel to make them a fresh batch of potato salad or cupcakes at 5pm even though there is fresh from that morning. They treat the helpful Safeway staff like servants. If I hear any rude demanding customers I remind them to take their medicine and chill out.

So my fiancé and I came in for a wedding cake tasting and we met with Lucia. She was amazing! Her and the bakery manager walked us through the whole process w/loads of free samples and great service. We previously went by the bolinger Safeway where they blew off our meeting. Talk about rude! After that we went here and wow what a difference. They have a better tasting with better options and service than many higher priced bakeries. We were given little tips to like how to get a cake that will hold up for the evening and what options are more popular. All in all it was world class service!

I love this Safeway. 1. Easy to park. 2. The staff are very nice and friendly. 3. It isn’t a huge Safeway so even running in to grab just milk is quick. 4. The produce is fresh and clean. Not every Safeway can say this. 5. They have 2 redbox machines, bottle recycling machine, a Starbucks. 6. I also like that the Argonaut Mall has a CVS, another Starbucks, a bank etc.

I would say that a safeway is a safeway, but that is soooo not true. they have a few older ones in the area that are iffy. this one is ok, but not my favorite. service: slow. they never seem to have enough checkout lanes open. i went in at 5pm and there were only 3 open, all with pretty big lines. let’s just say there was nothing quick about the quick check. and they don’t have self-checkout… they need it. if they could get the service up, it would be a fine store.
