Rented kayaks here this weekend. It was awesome! Cool to see all the very beautiful boats. Employees were nice as well.

Visited Saugatuck, MI in mid July. These guys set us up with a great boat at a good price. JB took us out to Lake Michigan and was a fantastic captain/​host. We had a great time doing some drinking and fishing on the lake. Also just pleasure cruising and taking in the views from the river and lake are well worth it. We recommend these guys to anyone looking to rent a boat to get out on the lake for a day.

Nice staff but the bikes are poorly maintained. First bike we took out had a wabbly rear wheel, second bike had the chain popping off 6 time when we were a mile out of town. Had to stop at two shops to find a wrench.
Returned the bikes early with «sorry about that» response.

Nicest staff! Friendly, focused. We had a great time on the pontoon. Shout out to Travis.

We rented a pontoon boat from Big Lake Outfitters for the July 4^th weekend. We had 12 people on a 25′ pontoon and had plenty of space! The check-​in/​check-​out was easy, and the staff were very laid back. The boat was in great shape, clean, and easy to use. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was because I ended up getting charged $ 25 more than originally quoted. However, I still felt that their prices were fair and we got a great value for what we paid!

I posted a picture of their website that advertises moped rentals. The reviews are positive and the prices seemed reasonable — so I took a brisk walk into Saugatuck and walked to the counter, only to be told:“Oh, we used to rent mopeds but we don’t anymore.” I know modern technology can be challenging to some, but please — hire a grade school student to update your website to reflect your current policies. This is the era of instant communications.

Terrible !!! This describes the condition of the pontoon that we rented and the service we were provided. I have NEVER written a bad review but I was so disappointed that I was willing to take the time to warn others. Rented pontoon for a 50^th birthday party. The kids checking us in we’re very unprofessional. Boat was very dirty and covered in mold. We had to cover every seat with our towels just to be able to sit on it. Radio did not work and I was not able play my IPOD as promised when I booked. Boat stalled every time we shifted into neutral making it very hard to dock the boat when we returned. Instead if helping, staff sat their lazy butts in chairs on the deck bellowing out instructions and even calling our driver very inappropriate names. Will not return.

WoW those guys are great… They treated us like we were their neighbors and made us feel very welcome!

The staff is great, John and Matt were very informative of things to do in and around Saugatuck. The rentals they provide are great and priced very reasonable. Great Place!!!

My family was excited to spend some time together on a pontoon in Saugatuck. My young son really wanted to do a little fishing. Made reservations 4 days prior to scheduled rental and filled out required paperwork. Showed up on scheduled day and time and guess what… They couldn’t find our paperwork anywhere and all the pontoons had been rented to other people! Really? It’s not rocket science people! My son was devastated and family disappointed. Thanks for Nothing Big Lake Outfitters! We will never return. I wouldn’t even consider them if I were you!

This place was next to the B&B (Bayside Inn) we were staying at and it was great! We rented a craigcat which is like a mini pontoon boat for two. The 2 guys working there were very friendly, professional and accommodating. They were especially understanding when we got stuck in the mud by the bridge and thought we were going to need to be towed out. Luckily we were able to push ourselves out, so thankfully no harm done (oh the funny things that happen when city people try to do nature stuff!). They also rent kayaks, bigger pontoon boats and bikes. Their prices are very reasonable and we would definitely rent from them again… if they let us! :)

Amazing experience all around! Great rates– easy booking, and fabulous staff! We went out with Captain Mike & he was a gem! He is following his passion with this job & it shows. He was friendly, knowledgable & very helpful. Oh & patient because we were quite a crew:) we caught a lot of fish & had a great time! Captain Mike even cleans the fish for you. My group of friends decided to make this an annual outing. Looking forward to next year already with Best Chance Charters & Captain Mike. Tips– go out early for best results & beautiful sunrise & don’t forget the Dramamine just in case, lastly give a gratuity to your captain & mate for all the hard work.

The Big Lake crew is outstanding. We’ve used them to rent bikes, pontoon boats, scooters and kayaks. The staff is great, always helpful and totally service oriented. I even went in with a flat tire on my personal bike and John gave my tire special attention with no charge other than the price of the new tube. Great place and great people. Next we’ll be doing charter boat for fishing — I’ve heard nothing but great things and witnessed the results of many happy customers returning with some great catches. Five stars!

We came to rent bikes for an hour and it was a great deal! $ ¹⁰⁄₂ hours per bike. The guys working were nice and seemed helpful. A laid back experience, not a lot of fuss. We got in and out no problem. The bikes were in fair condition and I like that they had a basket to put your stuff.

Four of us rented a pontoon boat for four hours from Big Lake. The boat was old and in desperate need of reupholstering, but it ran fine. What MADE our experience was Wyatt; this guy was so, so friendly and such a huge help — a true professional in every sense of the word.
