The gluten free pizza had amazing taste and it was very chewy. The waitress did not serve water until we asked for it. Loved the food but not so good service.

I went here for dinner altering reading reviews on a gluten free website. This diner has so many different gluten free options it’s amazing. I had the Reuben on GF toast. I saw they had gluten free mozzarella sticks!?! For desert I had a GF muffin to go. Very clean place and food was on point. also they have a separate fryer for French fries which the waitress assured me was a different frier. I’ll be back, highly recommended!
Had breakfast here awhile back. The server was totally not into her job. Dropped the plate in front of me & that was it. She wasnt busy but never bothered to come inquire if i needed anything. Just dropped my check off & walked away. No thank you or eye contact. Tried an omlette– pretty unremarkable. Sadly the toast scored higher. Gave it another try when a friend suggested meeting there. Wish i had read a previous review re the panini. I ordered the steak panini. Disaster! Hardly any steak, wasnt spicy as described & worst of all the Avacodo was so unripe i could barely cut it! I asked the server if the avacado could be replaced since it was unripe but she said there were no riper ones. The fries were almost albino. This server was very pleasant & i think she actually felt bad that my panini was awful. My friend said the best thing on her plate was the large crunchy pickle. She had a tuna melt that wasnt very melted. So skipping this place from now on — not diner worthy, just mediocre processed food.

Ordered steak wrap with fries and steak panini with salad. Wrap was disappointing, small, and some fries scattered on large platter. Panini had few small pieces of marinated steak, avocados and onions, flavor was good, but on the small size. Salad was plenty as a side and dark leafy lettuces. 2 iced teas and the bill of $ 35…totally ripped off! Cross this one off the list for sandwich menu items. Breakfasts have been a lot better!

A handful of limp cool fries scattered over the plate. Waitress shrugged, host shrugged. And now they’ve raised their cc minimum to $ 15. Go to Village Diner, they’re very nice & the food is much better

I’m sorry. The pasta smelled and tasted like dish rags. Manager gave us a $ 5 credit instead of letting it go or replacing it. The other stuff was OK, but not very good. Figured it was co-located with a pizza place, so the Italian should have been better.

After reading a review on this diner, I had to agree that it was bright and clean. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The food and selections were great for a diner. We also were looking for an easy off and on the NY Thruway. This location was right. Glad we stopped.

Stopped in yesterday on my way back from the Catskills. We checked out the menus at a few local places and wound up here. I avoid diners in general because the menus are ofter greasy and I try to eat well. I was very surprised when we went in. We were greeted by a friendly hostess, seated immediately, and were quickly attended to by a friendly waitress. She answered all of our questions and there was no hassle at all. Place was clean and comfortable. What blew me away was the food. I am from NYC and eat out a lot, both locally and during business travel. I ordered the salmon(the special was blackened but they made it grilled with no hassle), mashed potatoes and sauteed veggies. Came with a salad and a roll. Salad was standard iceberg. Vinaigrette dressing was very good. Sourdough roll was also very good. The real surprise was the main plate. The salmon was excellent. Grilled to medium perfection. Still moist inside. Together with the good mashed potatoes and properly cooked asparagus, it was a great meal. Most restaurants kill salmon by overcooking it. This was great. Quality and taste as good as any other I have had. My girlfriend had the cup over chili, which was served over rice, and was very happy. Bathrooms were quite clean. No ick factor. Mints are great. Negatives: Waitress became inattentive when she was given a table of 12. Minor inconvenience from my perspective. When the waitress saw that my plate came with asparagus, she immediately got me the sauteed vegetables. These were overcooked, but flavorful. No baked potatoes until after 4:30. Weird.

Traveling through the Catskills, and stopped here because given a choice, I always choose mom and pop joints over fast food chains. Well, it was definitely serviceable as far as diners go. Nothing to write home about, but still better than a Big Mac any day.

Stopped here on the way to Montréal. They have gluten free surprises! The food was fantastic and the waitress was adorable and attentive. What a gem

Nice people, food ok. Just what you would expect from a suburban diner. No news of the world yet clean and efficient food with no surprises.

Second time eating here, this is my favorite eatery on the way back from skiing Hunter or Windham or when we’re staying near Saugerties. I didn’t experience any of the issues with the hostess or staff like other reviewers said, so keep in mind staff comes and goes. The hostess was friendly, we were seated quickly and our orders were taken promptly. The menu is quite extensive, although not quite as huge as a NJ diner. I always feel at a diner the best bets are sandwiches and burgers and I typically avoid the full dinners or pasta(too much food). My daughter order the french dip, I had a cheeseburger, food came quickly was hot and tasty. Good coleslaw. I would not say its the best diner food anywhere, but its the best in that area, and we had a great server. I was having a problem with my car and she actually called a couple places for me to see if they were open!

I was a little unsure about this place cuz the reviews were all over the place. We tried it anyway and i’m glad we did. The breakfast was great for all four of us and as for the service that was even better maybe we just got the right waitress but she was great and wish every waitress could be that good. Sorry we didnt get her name but we did hear her say she was in the navy. Maybe ask for the ex navy waitress. But definitely give um a try.

Stopped in here randomly with my Dad on the way back from Albany for a bite. It was nice. But Im not sure if that’s because of the restaurant or because of my Dad. He’s nice.

This is a big, ugly and rather depressing Upstate NY diner. Mediocre food and slow service. Worth driving over to the mall next door and ordering from Giordana’s pizza instead.

Stopped for a breakfast on the way home from camping. So you know anything will taste awesome at this point, but the food looked good and tasted good. Nothing fancy, but good for breakfast. The desserts looked yummy in the case, but it was breakfast and we weren’t there to gorge. Service was not speedy and our waitress was less than happy to be working. That was not the case with all of them — some looked happy and weren’t short with their customers. When service is not speedy that is my sign they are actually cooking my food and it’s not pre-done so that is a plus. I would say it took 15 –20 minutes and that’s more than acceptable. The extra star would be earned for having something more than just basic breakfast on the menu. And a happy waitress. What I did see coming out of the kitchen looked great. And we did clean our plates. I had the blueberry pancakes and my husband had the eggs, ham and potatoes. The coffee is VERYGOOD. And I’m not just saying that because I hadn’t had any in 2 days — it was the good kind.

Definitely the best diner in Saugerties(there are 3 or 4), and above average overall. It’s a very large place with a large menu; most items are adequately priced(there are cheaper diners, but IMO they are small, old, and have slightly worse food). I’ve ate here at least 20 times, and only once had a bad meal(it was some pasta dish with huge chunks of prosciutto or something, I can’t exactly remember). Plenty of choices less than $ 10 — breakfast, gyros, paninis, salads, burgers, melts, and large entrees for more than $ 10(chicken, steak, clams, fish, etc.). Gyros are tremendous, breakfast items(especially french toast) are good, and the coffee is hot. It has a pizza shop, called«Pizza Star», attached in the back(you can reach Pizza Star via a hallway through the diner as well), and the pizza is recommended. Service is OK — not super friendly, but received adequate attention and quick service. Plenty of coffee refills. As an FYI, you take your check up to the front to pay.

I decided to give this place another try but it still didn’t go well. The hostess needs to SMILE and greet the customers. Honestly such a put off, almost made me not want to even sit and eat. And the fact she did that o every customer… no. She didn’t smile once the whole time we were there. My boyfriend got a chicken finger basket for $ 10.99. Came with 5 chicken fingers that were probably the size of your index finger. Also to say the chicken noodle soup he got the last visit made him sick. My chicken wrap… I’ve had better. Also lacked in fries. I’m sad because this should be such an easy go to place in Saugerties, instead I’ll take that extra 10 min drive to Kingston.
