My friend and I ended up getting out a little later than we expected from work and were unable to make our appointments at my favorite go to nail salon(Forever Nails on Rte 1 South). We made a stop by Trader Joe’s and noticed A.J. Nails & Spa was open a little later than the other salons in the area. So, we figured we’d give it a whirl. Upon entering there were no other clients which was pretty great for our walk in adventure but a little off putting when I saw the other Unilocal reviews. The place looked really clean and the staff seemed friendly enough so we still pushed on. There was a female and male technician on staff. I was lucky enough to get the lady. She really didn’t speak much to me and never introduced herself. She did gesture to pick a color I noticed there wasn’t a huge variety. The majority of available colors were all red so… guess what color I picked? Yep, you guessed it… Red. The pedicure was ok but the massage was nothing to write home about. I will say she took some extra time at the end to clean up the edges of my toes which was nice even though she applied the polish very carefully My friend was a little dissatisfied because she said her technician was rushing things, really rough, and it even hurt at times. We both started our pedicures at exactly the same time and my friend finished a good 5 minutes earlier than I did. The service seems to be inconsistent from technician to technician but for $ 24+ tip each at 7pm on a Wednesday night when most salons are closed it was pretty good and ok in a pinch. This definitely won’t be my new spot for pampering but definitely ok for second(or third) string option. FYI– bring cash for a tip. They don’t allow you to put it on the card and this info is not posted anywhere…

Will not be back again. My friend and I went in for pedicures. The water was ice cold. The girl that worked on me was extremely rough. She scraped my legs with the pumice stone and I was scorched by the blazing hot towels that were supposed to be relaxing. My friend had an awful pedicure, as well. The whole experience was more painful than pleasurable. I agree with the other poster, we felt very rushed and were the only customers in there. The customer service was non existent and I did not feel welcomed at all. I have had many a happy experience at Garden Nails on Rte 1 South and shouldn’t have strayed. I only came to this salon because of sheer convenience and I learned my lesson!

located in a plaza right off route one, but there is no sign indicating that it is in the plaza. happened to stumble across the place while stopping at Starbucks. very clean place with a lot of chairs. was not that busy but felt rushed. also did not enjoy that the employees were all speaking in their language instead of English. made me feel very uncomfortable. found the price to be high $ 14 for a regular manicure. try one of the other salons around the area. this place does not seem to care about keeping customers. they just want to get people in and out as fast as they can.
