Very clean, well organized. Everything about this supermarket has a new feel to it. Great produce and good prices. Very friendly staff. I really enjoy the bakery. Convenient with easy access. Plenty of parking. Highly recommended.

Being a Market Basket shopper it’s been difficult having to shop at other stores these past several weeks. I finally made my way to Hannaford’s on Saturday(8−9−14) but, it wasn’t at all what I expected. I found the store setup confusing, areas like produce and meat are small, crowded and difficult to maneuver. Price-wise, Hannaford’s isn’t bad but it’s not great either. They’re a bit cheaper than Stop-and-Shop but not by much. I challenge anyone to beat Market Basket’s prices and selection of fresh produce any day. For instance, I purchased a hank of bananas and a few nectarines which looked perfectly fine but barely made it past a day before they began to go brown and soft, the produce section left a lot to be desired in my opinion. Everything was so overpriced and just looked overly handled. All in all I did my complete shopping as I would at Market Basket(with meat and paper goods included) and paid $ 15.74 over what I would normally pay. WOW! I’m definitely not a happy camper knowing my grocery budget will be costing me more every week. Note to Market Basket: hurry up and fix your issues, get back to business, the consumer at large is counting on you. As for my 3 star rating of Hannaford’s Yes the store is clean and the employees were helpful and friendly but, their product prices and selection just didn’t do it for me.

Shopped here for the first time today. I used to be a loyal Market Basket customer but with all that is going on I chose to go somewhere else. This store is cute, very clean and thankfully has great prices which is super important! Im very happy with everything I bought and will continue shopping here.

Really like this place. The meats are reasonable and if you get the Manager’s Special stock up. No problem with their meats or produce. Always like going here. This place is always shiney clean.

I like this store. They have daikon radish and sometimes the best cut of meat ever– Chuck Eye. Its like ribeye in flavor & marbled like crazy at 4 bucks a pound. Grills Beautifully! Nevermind, forget it, its mine all mine and you can’t have any!

This is a nice grocery store. This is the closest Hannaford to me. I live in Everett and this is on my way home from my job in Lynnfield. There aren’t too many around the area. The store looks nice and clean. Good selection of food. The prices are cheaper than Stop & Shop, but not cheaper than Market Basket. If I never need anything, I stop here on my way home from work.

Clean, decent stock for a smaller store(this is a benefit when in a hurry), fish & produce always fresh. Staff is helpful and knowledgeable. Prices are comparable to larger local chain(MB) without the«madness». Prices are much cheaper than S&S and its expensive counterpart. Always a pleasant experience.

I routinely go to the Hannaford locations in Raymond and Derry, New Hampshire and find their prices to be on the high side. This location was surprising with relatively low prices on quite a few items. The selection is also diverse and well organized. All in all a convenient and inexpensive shopping destination easily accessible from route one or Walnut street.

Perhaps a refresher course in customer service is in order for some employees. To be specific Chrs who has been working there since 2012. Its usually customary to not be a complete d*ck to customers. How about YOU know the prices of your products not ask the customer. Why not wait until the customer is finished paying before tossing everything in a bag and holding it out midair like some dog waiting to grab a snack. and how about just maybe a friendly remark like Thank you for shopping, Have a nice day, come again soon before moving on the next customer and giving them crappy service. I know Hannaford’s like to think its like Trader Joes or Whole Foods but you’re not. You’re just another grocery store on Rte 1 in Saugus. You have all the pretentiousness without any of the quality. All of this under the watchful eye of a less than observant manager or perhaps he’s merely following what he’s been taught.

Great prices and selection on produce and organic items. This is my number one grocery store. You never have to wait long in line since they use a single line system.

I drove here even though it’s far from me because I was sick and wanted my favorite brand of healthy soup. It’s hard to find, but the companies website said they sold the exact kind of soup I was craving, at this store. So I called to make sure they had it and they were nice about checking. Remarkably, they did have it so I made the drive. I was able to buy two cartons of organic corn soup, which is all they had but at least they had it. I was very impressed and happy to have my favorite healthy comfort food.

This store is a great find! Although I live much closer to Shaws, I do all of my grocery shopping here because not only are the prices way cheaper but the service is much, much better. You almost NEVER have to wait in line at the checkout. You stand in a single line and someone then tells you which checkout to go to. And miracle of miracles, they have plenty of checkout help! The cashiers are always friendly too, which is great! Also, I like the meat and produce departments. The meat is very tasty, even the stuff from the meat deli(where you can buy prepared chicken, etc.) The store is also always very CLEAN. I like that. This store inspires you to want to shop. And on several occasions, I’ve actually left saying, «I got all of this for only that amount?» Only drawback is the parking lot, which it shares with several other large stores, and which is kind of icky to navigate in and out of. But, on the plus side, I can almost always find a place close to the store to park. I sure hope this store sticks around for a long time because it beats its competitors hands down,

If it’s possible to be a fan of a supermarket then count me in. Way better than Stop & Plop or Shaws. And better prices. And no stupid member card required to get the better prices.

As far as grocery stores go, this one is awesome. It’s clean, the people are friendly, the prices are waaay cheaper than Shaws or Stop and Shop, and they have a great selection. This time of year, you can find all sorts of random fruit. I love trying something new, and Hannaford never disappoints. They have a pretty big selection of organic produce as well. I love the self check out lines! Parking is a breeze and it’s very conveniently located off of Route 1 next to Kohls. Just don’t get yourself killed trying to pull back out onto Route 1…

This is a good supermarket, with lower prices than those found at Shaw’s and Stop & Shop. Had some very decent produce, and if you make pizza the Portland Pie Co. dough that they carry is very good. I found that the prices here ranged from competitive with Shaw’s and Stop & Shop to MUCH lower on some items. The store isn’t huge, but it is new, pleasant, and very clean. I’ll definitely go again.

Hannaford in Saugus has the best prices in groceries on the Rt 1 strip. In addition, the bulk items mean I don’t have to run to Wholefoods for oatmeal or rice when I want to buy in bulk, which is often more economical. The way Hannaford queues lines is incredibly effective and a time saver. In addition, there are no frequent points cards to have to deal with. After trying Shaw’s and Stop & Shop on Rt 1, we have definitely settled on Hannaford.

I have come to despise Stop and Shop. The gross lights, the bad produce, the miserable employees. I can’t take it. So we suck it up, drive to Cambridge, and pay a premium to have an enjoyable shopping experience at Whole Foods. But sometimes we need to pick something up mid-week or something, and we would prefer to stay close. And Hannaford fills that void. In the location of the former Wild Oats, this store is clean, has a lot of nice produce and extensive organic offerings, and offers a pleasant shopping atmosphere. The prices are quite good, too. I’m a fan.
