I’ve been ordering from Nick’s for about a year now. Could be longer. But honestly, I’ve never had a bad meal here. What’s not to like? Great food, Great Portions, Great Price, FAST Delivery. The owner/manager who takes my order never got it wrong and is to the point.

I love Nick’s, they have great, consistent food. The only thing that’s a thumbs down is the prices. Small calzone, small pizza(and I mean small) and small sub, $ 38.00. I think they are a dollar or 2, too high. Other than that I recommend Nick’s for pick up or delivery. I guess you have to pay to get good food!

I have been ordering from here for about 1.5 years now. There has to be someplace better but I’ve been a little lazy and the food was always adequate. I have been able to get passed the piss-poor attitude of the guy on the phone. He answers the phone like I am interfering with his day. Last night was the tipping point. I ordered the fisherman’s platter(fried). Listed on the menu at $ 22.00. The kid(not the surly ass) tells me it will be $ 29.05. I asked why and was told that the clams are more expensive now. Granted the clam plate is listed as market price but everything else has a set price. So for the nine or ten clams I got on my platter I paid an additional $ 3.25. There is also an additional $ 1.50 delivery charge that is not listed anywhere on the menu. So enough about the price changing and hidden fees. Let’s talk about the food itself. The platter came in two containers. One had the fish and the other had the fries and onion rings. In fairness the portions are more than adequate. The onion rings are home made but under cooked. The fisherman’s platter has white fish(cod maybe but should be haddock for the price) which was clearly frozen. The clams were actually pretty good. The scallops were bay scallops and were like eating pencil erasers. Cooked waaay to long. The shrimp were really rubbery as well. Overall, I feel as though I got a two start meal for a five star price. Gotta start really looking around for another place.

I love this place! Great food and great portions, the staff is always friendly. When your a regular like my self they know your name, your usual and ask how the family is doing! Which I find great that they take there time to know. Whenever I order lunch at work or am too lazy to cook this is my go to! Thanks for being awesome guys! Angie

The best thing about this place beside’s the food is the value. Nick’s is one of the favorite places to eat when we all want to eat luch, most likely because the portions are huge, everthing on the menu is delicious and the people working here are fun, personable and tend to joke around often. The owner is a great guy and really love’s what he does, you can tell how much passion he has about what he does just by talking with him, he will go over and beyond to make sure that you have everything you ordered and then some. What more could you ask for. Try them out, I garuantee you will love them!

The food was great, went to shit, then I tried again and the food isn’t bad. I ordered their steak bomb calzone and it’s always full and never skimpy. The only thing I can say bad about this place, and that’s why I’m giving it 3 stars, is the unprofessional staff. Mainly, the only people working there seem to be 15 year olds who don’t give a shit about the food. I went in recently and there was everyone rushing around with a shift manager SCREAMINGLY down everyone’s throat, while on the phone with a customer!!! He had to apologize that he was«just talking to my guys». No. You were screaming in the most unprofessional manor I’ve ever seen and you should be fired!

I love this place and always get quality food but beware of the 28 dollar small steak kabob calzone. It was the size of a small dish, mostly cheese, and at ‘market price.’ I was shocked and honestly thought it was a miscalculation but it wasn’t.

The pizza is OK — used to be better under different management. Nothing exciting, nothing terrible. It just is. Better than most of the other pizza in town. I wish that was saying a lot. It isn’t.

This place has the best food. Their subs are always stuffed. I usually get a turkey club and some asian chicken fingers. They are daughter loves the pizza here, she always gets 2 slices and the owner,(who is a great guy), always gives her a small pizza. She loves it there. You can’t go wrong with anuthing on the menu. Try the house dressing you can put it on everrything.

As i read the post correcting me i too will be happy to point out a few facts upon review i will say i wrote my review a bit hasty you are correct you were NOT the manager in charge when it was closed for health violations as for me saying anything about your staff ive read my review several times over NEVER did i say anything about your staff nore would i everyone of your employees is very hard working and professional i however can’t say the same for you hard working yes professional no i as a paying customer should not have to stand there listening to you rant about someone who calls and asks a question about your menu i as a paying customer should not have to listen to you raise your voice at me because i say in a regular tone of voice that i feel its wrong to ask for my. number everytime i call. what if my number was unlisted what then u would not take my order? And further more to call my boss over a post and rant and rave was beond ridiculous since you demand a phone number you should have called me not my place of employment that had NOTHING to do with my post again unprofessional i worked in a restraunt for 20 years the former full of bull restraunt so i know its not easy however customers deserve respect wich is what i get from nicks place revere.

The food is good, but the owner is a jack a$$. He’s very rude on the phone to the customers. He hung up on me, when I had a legit question about an item on the menu. I ordered from his competition, Charlie’s instead.

5 star when the bathroom is nice and clean(if ever) Food is good. Clam roll fantastic. And they have Pepsi, which is better than coca cola. Speedy order and speedy service. If you eat in, be ready to hear the manager yell at the employees– it’s funny cuz he doesn’t really yell, it’s just the way he talks lol.

Aside from Stella’s this is the best sub shop in Saugus(which is the capital of sub shops lol) I’ve never had a bad thing from nicks. They are exactly what you want in a sub shop, local, great tasty food, fast and relatively cheap. The house dressing is to die for. I love dipping my fries in it, my wingdings, my pizza, my fingers… okay I might have gotten a little carried away but the dressing is very good! My dad says the shrimp scampi is very good but I haven’t tried it yet. I love the chicken kabob salad with you guessed it the house dressing. They also have great deals on different days of the week. Damn I love this place and often crave it while I’m away. Hometown favorite for many. Gosh sub shops are a way of life. I grew up on them and I wouldn’t change that for the world!!!
