Saugus House of Pizza

After writing my original review and reading other reviews I decided to try this place again yesterday. I ordered the Ziti Combo which came with chicken, eggplant, sausage and mushrooms. It was very good and they gave a huge portion. The sauce was really fresh tasting and the Chicken Cutlet excellent. I would not order with mushrooms again since they tasted canned, but overall, an excellent dish and great price for the amount received. Either I caught them on a bad day with my first visit or maybe just don’t care for their particular pizza, but try the pasta, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

First off ,
To say the least for months my company has enjoyed the food from this establishment countless and countless times and to be treated so poorly after loyalty of business appalls me. We received a wrong order for multiple people and when expressed to Saugus house we was told at first keep the food they apologized took our correct order and had it re sent out once again the order was incorrect but before it had come out they called to say they would take back the faulty given food. We were received with attitude from the owner or personal that answered the phone. We were told keep everything and do as your please. We felt bad for the delivery driver because he felt bad for us after being so upset with the establishment. We as a company will not order from Saugus house again. This is what we get after being loyal customers ‚? You just lost at least 20 – 30 customers. Good luck selling your food we are sure to spread the word.

This is a great local pizza joint that has great take out and good prices. I probably wouldn’t go there to eat, because theres lots of other choices around but its perfect for take out. The buffalo chicken calzone is perfect.

Exelent, service and food. I had a very good time, with my family, eating, in this restaurant. I recommend to you.

Ummmm, how did anyone write a bad review!!! The florentina pizza is AWESOME!!! The crust is like a hand tossed, nearly thin crust. It was grossly delicious. I’ll definitely be back!

I arrived in Saugus and wanted pizza delivery. Their menu seemed most like a real restaurant than just a cheap-​o pizza place. I ordered the pizza without seeing the Unilocal reviews.
I ordered the Mediterranean pizza. It’s funny that the person on the phone couldn’t say the word. In any case, my pizza came hot within a reasonable amount of time. The delivery boy was chipper. I opened the pizza and it looked great. Smelled great. And, tasted great. It was cooked just right and had enough toppings to please me.
I don’t know why this place has so many low scores on Unilocal.I liked what I got. It’s much better than most standard pizzas.

Awful experience for me ! I just wish I knew how these businesses run… The lady who works there completely ignored me when I was paying !!! The food was ok just a typical pizza from everywhere but because of the way they treat customers I WILL NEVER go back

Pita bread that comes with the Salad is delicious and warm !!! :)
The chicken salad and steak tip salad were just okay. The chicken was tender (which is good) and the teriyaki steak tips was too dry for my likings.
The Greek dressing was decent.
Ordered a side of jalapeño and pickles, they charged us but forgot to put it in the bag when delivered.

Today I had the best experience at saugus house My food was awesome and Customer servise great I Just want to say thank you guys you Made my day

Very sad to say this place changed hands and I no longer get food from here. My last salad experience was awful and they changed their fries which used to be so good now just basic and boring. I didn’t bother getting pizza from here again because I figure my other favorites aren’t good so I don’t expect that to be.

Awful experience from start to finish took over two hours for one pizza and they hung up on me twice when i called checking in on it. BRUTAL. Spend money else where

Not to be sexist, but I’m going to make a guy analogy. Guys, remember when you were single. There was a girl that you wanted to show off to your friends, a girl you’d take home to meet the parents, and the one you spent a weekend with. Point is, a person can’t be all things to all people… neither can a sub shop. Most sub shops serve the same basic frozen, not fresh fare, but, usually, there are several items that they do well.
Such is the case here. First, they bake their own bread and the pita and sub rolls are great. The trouble is, the ingredients that are placed in the bread… not so much! I have found the hamburgers and chicken subs are very good. Steak subs are basic shaved steak and very greasy. Cold cuts are nothing special. Neither is their roast beef (with Liberty Bell and Billy’s five minutes away go there).
Their pizza is Greek style and is decent. The crust is flaky and they don’t skimp on the toppings. But the real winners here are the calzones. The dough is very well made, with a nice crunch and flavor. The calzone is absolutely loaded with ingredients. My favorites are the charcoal chicken, chicken kabob and steak tip.
As with any place of this nature, don’t expect all menu items to be great, or even decent. Sample a few, find what you like and don’t stray. Oh, by the way, they are one of the few places to offer fried dough!

This place is under new management again which seems to be an improvement. Have not gotten delivery so i cant comment on whether or not that has improved at all but ive gotten takeout a few times and its great. The owners are el Salvadorian i believe and they have pupusa and quesadillas and stuff! Its definitely worth a try!

We moved to Saugus from Malden back in August. We’ve ordered from various places for pizza but they were either fake tasting or gave us heartburn. We took a chane on Grub Hub after reading average reviews of Saugus House of Pizza.
It did take a long time, BUT, Grub Hub updates you on when the ordere will be delivered.
But, the pizzas were worth waiting for. The crust was perfect and fluffy and yet the pizza itself wasn’t oily. My mom had the cheese and I had the pepperoni.
We also ordered the fried dough, but haven’t eaten it yet. I’m sure it will be delightful.
I’m glad we finally found a decent place to order from.

Ordered ONE pizza from here. (Mind you it was a half cheese and half pepperoni, so nothing difficult or fancy.) it has been 1 hour and 10 minutes, and I still have not received it. I am still waiting. I will update once I receive it (if ever)
Update: I called and told them that I didn’t get my pizza yet even though it has been over 1 hour. The man said it should be here any minute.
15 minutes later, I got my pizza almost 1.5 hours later!
Never again will I order from here.
Pizza was just okay, definitely not worth the wait. It was soggy and soft. no crunch at all.

Ordered a large steak bomb with small fries to Malden and received it in a little over a half hour the day of a tornado alert! Food was great, serving size of the small fries was like a medium fries, delivery person was pleasant. I will definitely be a repeat customer and recommend to friends! Pricing is fair, definitely get more than what you pay for in comparison to similar places.

As much we enjoy the food at this place & really do feel like it is good quality, the customer service & food delivery time is a huge problem! On more than one occasion we have waited well over an hour for a delivery — just this past Friday night it was 1 hour and 40 minutes! It would be one thing if they told you this when you place the order but they DON’T! *warning if you are hungry — go somewhere else*

I ordered via grub hub and a hour and twenty minutes I had to call to find out where the food was. They said it was on the way. Pizza, chix fingers, and a salad from a place less than a mile away and it took that long? I also ordered on November 15, 2013 and the food never showed. They said they missed the grub hub order. I’m not sure who to blame or both, but either way, I have no food and grub hub didn’t as much give me a free soda. I hope you both go out of business real soon.

Subpar pizza shop at best. I got very sick to my stomach from their pizza (got a Hawaiian). My husband got a chicken finger dinner; the chicken was obviously frozen from a bag, fries were rubbery. 2 stars for quick delivery. Will not eat here again.

where to begin, the food is just delicious I dont have any other word for it. They make their own Syrian bread, they give you an outrageous amount of french fries and onions rings for a small order. The only mehh thing I can think of for them is that they take a long time to deliver sometimes. The tuna pocket is a must.
