I love the atmosphere here. It seems so chill and you can look out to the water while eating. We came in and was expecting a long wait but the food came out pretty quickly. We got the pasta with clams and a lobster rolls. You cans definitely tastes the freshness in the seafood. A must go!

I am fine with rustic food, but serving whole cilantro with stems exactly as you bought it from the supermarket and not putting any salt on my tacos is a bit too rustic for me the place is below average and a bit overpriced

OHMYCOD!!! I should know not to come on a weekend, especially on a nice Saturday in Sausalito. I braved the huge line and tourists. Many were from the Bay Area, escaping the crazy crowd in SF due to Super Bowl City. I was craving my usual fish & chips and ordered fresh Alaska True Cod, amazingly delicious and fresh. It’s definitely on the high-end, fresh seafood isn’t cheap. The ambiance is bright inside, plenty of seating outside, but I dislike all the birds coming for the food. It’s cash only, ATM available. Not a huge menu for kids or desserts. This is Sausalito, just walk downtown, there’s a plethora of dessert and coffee shops to choose from. I will definitely avoid coming on weekends.

The roommate’s brother’s family was in Sausalito and asked if we wanted to meet up for lunch. Since I never get out to Sausalito, I automatically thought, yes please! We decided to go to Fish on Sunday, January 24th, a little before 1pm. We didn’t know how the restaurant worked before we walked in. All I knew was, they didn’t take reservations. Turns out, you order what you want at the register, they give you a number, you find a table, and they deliver you your food. Originally, we picked a table outside with a view of the water, but we ended up moving to a table inside before they delivered our food. I was a little grateful as the birds were freaking me out. *Oysters on the half shell($ 3 ea): Sweet water, ca(x2) & Drake’s bay, Baja(x2) *Fish And Chips: Battered with anchor steam beer and seasoned flour, crispy and golden brown. Served with chips, lemon wedge and house made tartar sauce.(Fresh Alaskan true cod $ 22) x2 *The Saigon King Salmon Sandwich: Grilled marinated wild king salmon with a blend of carrot, jalapeño, cilantro and house made vietnamese ginger-scallion sauce atop a acme torpedo roll. Served with Organic greens.($ 24) *The Crab Roll: A west coast rendition of the east coast favorite. Sweet dungeness crab served atop a toasted acme torpedo roll with clover organic butter and chives. Served with shoestring fries.($ 36) *White Chowder: A traditional new england white chowder with surf clams, bacon, potatoes, onion, celery and a special blend of dried herbs.(Bowl $ 9) x2 *Garlic Sourdough Bread: Panorama rustica baguette with garlic-butter and parsley.($ 5) The oysters were good. Creamy, sweet, briny and fresh. I’d been craving fish and chips so this was perfect. The fish batter was light, crispy and perfectly fried. However, the bottom of each piece got soggy as it sat on the plate. So the fish kept slipping out of the batter. The crab roll was good, but it didn’t have much flavor. It needed more butter. I loved the shoestring fries though. The roommate’s sister in law enjoyed the salmon sandwich and garlic bread. I had a bite of the garlic bread. Flavors were good, but it was a little too hard and crunchy for my liking. The clam chowder is very brothy, so if you like thick chowders, you probably won’t like this. I enjoyed it cuz I’m not a fan of the potatoes in clam chowder. This made it easier to pick them out. Plus, I love brothy soups. I can’t have meal without a drink, so I got the Villa Terresa Prosecco NV: Veneto, Italy(Glass $ 10). It worked well with everything we ordered. I would have had another one, but I was too lazy to wait in line again. Great place to get seafood dishes while taking in a nice view.

Came here after a day in Sonoma for a Lavender event and thought it would be nice. The prices and the quality of food didn’t match. I thought I was at Fishermen’s wharf getting crab at these prices. And like Fishermen’s Wharf it was hard to find a place to sit. We had to hover around spotting groups that were about to finish so we could take their table. We had a group of 6 people but every time a few walked away to get water or restroom someone would take their spot. And being so close to water at night it gets cold outside and near the doors.

So I recently moved to SF and realized I must do the obligatory ride of crossing the GGB via bike. Nothing like the wind in your hair, dodging pedestrian tourists, and the loud traffic ringing in your ears. But really it was spectacular. To get to Fish. from The City you can definitely come by car or ferry but I really recommend biking if the weather is nice. Sausalito is completely bike friendly and a great way to work off the fish and chips from this joint. The front sign says no bikes on the patio but if you enter with your bike look to the right and there’s a bike parking area. My friend and I cozied up to the corner indoor fireplace and shared the fish and chips, Portuguese red chowder, a side of slaw, and the BBQd oysters. I’ll admit, I’ve never been an oyster kid but these BBQd oysters were so tasty. Idk if they’re always that expensive at $ 9 for 3, but they definitely tasted fresh. The red chowder was just okay, good to help warm ya up but next time I’ll forgo trying to be healthier and just get the creamy clam chowder. Slaw has a vinaigrette so I liked it better than the typical heavy mayo-based slaws but it was a tad wilted. Our bill was close to $ 50 for two at lunch so it’s not cheap and keep in mind that they are cash only! However, I think there’s an ATM nearby. This place is a little further down the road, away from the main shopping area but worth the visit.

We got there around lunchtime(weekday of a holiday week) and there was plenty of parking. The line was out of the front door — but it gave us enough time to figure out what to order. We got the fish and chips, and Monterey squid, grilled over pasta. The latter was from the market of the day menu. The pasta was amazing — garlic, olive oil, whatever they put in was perfect. The squid was also perfectly cooked. The fish and chips were as expected — flakey and greasy because it’s fried, but that’s just how fish and chips are supposed to be cooked. It was good and we finished all of it, but in comparing the two dishes, I would opt for the squid 100x over the fish and chips in the future. Tables — they seem to turn over pretty quickly. If you have kids, please don’t let them feed fries to the seagulls. Reviews on this place was really mixed so we took a gamble and decided to check out this place to see if we can prove the naysayers wrong. Stick with the basics and the menu of the day! Rants of cash only: Get over it. There’s an ATM.

The food was absolutely amazing. I had the white chowder, BBQ oysters, and pasta con vogole. Everything was absolutely delish. The white chowder, for some reason I thought would be a clam chowder, but I was wrong… I think, or there were no clams present in my cup. But still the soup was a chunky soup with lots of minced onions, garlic, and potato pieces. Slightly creamy with a hint of sweetness from all the onions. The BBQ oysters were steamed, poached, whatever you want to call it. But it was served warm with their famous BBQ sauce. Very fresh and could taste the ocean all throughout each oyster… but the BBQ sauce just tasted like warmed cocktail sauce. The organic pasta was cooked to perfection, sauce slightly bland, but nothing a little lemon wedge and parm couldn’t fix. My friend had the albacore taquitos(spelling?) and the shrimp bisque. Would highly recommend the taquitos, but not the shrimp bisque. Overall had a wonderful experience. The seating is limited, but wonderful outdoor seating available for those less chilly days. Small parking lot, but fills up quickly. Will def be back to try everything else on their menu, as some items are seasonal. They are cash only, so hit up the ATM prior to stepping in for this palate enticing experience. Enjoy!

Fish. is an awesome seafood place in Sausalito right on the water near the ferries that run to San Francisco. We came on a Saturday afternoon and parking was free and plentiful. If you come on a weekday, I imagine parking will be more difficult and might be paid. This place reminds me of a classier version of Phil’s Fish Market(Moss Landing) where you order at the counter, find a table and you food is brought to you. Make sure you bring cash because credit isn’t accepted here. I would advise to look at the specials board in addition to the menu. I got the Grilled Monterey Squid Tossed with Fried Blue Lake Beans, Roasted Garlic-Pumpkin Sauce, and Fresh Pumpkin Parsley Salad($ 23), my girlfriend got the Black Cod Collar with a Salad($ 20). The squid was perfectly cooked and delicious, I really enjoyed the pumpkin sauce as well. The Black Cod was buttery and amazing, my girlfriend thought that she would get 1 collar piece but was so surprised at getting 4! I am not sure why I see so many people complaining about the prices for a seafood restaurant. Maybe the idea that you order at the counter makes people think it should be cheaper? Anyways prices are reasonable for what you get which is delicious and fresh seafood. Pro tip: bring cash and order off the daily specials menu hanging from the ceiling. try black cod if you have never had it!

We took a trip on the day before Thanksgiving to both Muir Beach National Park and Stinson Beach this week and decided to head back after a somewhat rainy day(which later cleared up as we were leaving, go figure). I decided to Unilocal for a good seafood restaurant and Fish. came up. Had some good stars and reviews, so we headed over. The place is a bit difficult to find as there’s hardly any signage. It’s by the boat docks and has a nice view and patio. That’s about all we found redeeming about Fish. First, the person working the front counter was absolutely apathetic about being there. Not a smile in sight that day from her. We were looking at the menu when she lackadaisically handed some paper menus over the counter. The prices are higher than I expected. It borders $$$ for sure. And what made it worse was the quality of food. Now I expected much, much better quality and preparation by a place that touts that it sells sustainable seafood. But that wasn’t the case. My fiancé shared a fish and chips dish while my mom and I ordered a clam sandwich and I ordered a grass fed beef burger(I had seafood the night before). Let’s start with the beef: if these beef patties come pre-formed and from a processor, someone knocked over a 50lb bag of salt that day into the grinder and didn’t tell anyone about it. If they were hand formed, someone knocked over a 1lb bag. Yes, it was that salty. I was dying. Didn’t finish it. My mom’s clam sandwich… where do I start. Burnt. Hard. Too much breading. Too much grease. The only dish worth recommending was the fish and chips. At least it was cooked properly and it looked like they used fresh oil as the batter coating was light in color and crispy. Perhaps my mom’s clams were sitting there pre-cooked and refried. At least that’s how it tasted to me. And the bill. Wow. At least if the food was good, I’d feel better about it. But I recommend not going here if this is the standard and not the exception. And smile front counter gal. It’ll make the day go smoother.

Coming from Seattle, fish & chips and clam chowder are my jam. Naturally, I got just that at Fish. It was ok. Nothing special. The fish was heavy on the breading, so I felt like I was getting a mouthful of oil and crispy nothings. Bring on the cankersores! The clam chowder was a lot thinner than I would’ve liked it(you need that heavy cream, yo!). The meal was actually pretty expensive($ 21 for fish & chips is really steep…), so to me, it wasn’t really worth it. The lines are long and the place is cash only.

4.5 stars. This is my favorite place to go on a sunny day when one could sit outside next to the Harbour and enjoy some of the freshest seafood around. Things to prepare for: cash only; even though you have to line up for food, you pay for the freshness of the food, which is not cheap. Great wine by the glass. Especially dry crisp wines that go well with the seafood here. The white clam chowder is awesome — not as creamy as the usual one. Also the BBQ SweetWater oysters are pretty damn good here.

Really expensive, but if you know you’re paying for an experience and lots of food, then you won’t be disappointed. Arrived around 3PM on a Saturday. There was no line and lots of seating available. We snagged a table outside. Spent over $ 100 on three people, but portion sizes are VERY generous. Two of us order the Fish & Chips, the other order the Crab Roll. Fish & Chips were great; some of the best I’ve ever had! Batter was greasy and delicious, fish insanely flakey and fresh, chips were«meh”– they needed lots of ketchup. Crab Roll had a thumbs up. Aside from the food, the mason jars they have for water/beer/iced tea were adorable and added to the atmosphere of the place. Their chalk board menu did too. And the picnic benches. It was cute. The only MAJOR downside would be the cash only. Who carries cash these days? They have an ATM, thankfully. FYI: if you’re biking across the bridge into Sausalito, it’s about a 10 minute bike ride from downtown. Fairly easy ride, but you’re on the road and go through quite a few traffic lights/some scary turns. But it’s worth it!

What is everyone talking about? You get to the restaurant and you spend ½ hr looking for parking, then, you wait in a long line for ½ hr. All for what, a decent overpriced meal. I honestly wasn’t impressed. Everything was too salty and lacked the wow factor that the reviews raved about. Fish and Chips — large portions, but nothing special. I thought there was too much breading and lacked the crisp that you expect from fish and chips Saigon Sandwich — way to salty. I couldn’t finish it. Overall, I wouldn’t come back. On the plus side, the view from the patio was nice.

Some random guy on a plane recommended Fish… and I’m sure glad he did. When you pull in the scenery literally looks like something from a relaxing movie. Its right on the bay and offers a fun environment with little birds chirping around the dock. I ordered out of my norm: pasta. They have this linguini with garlic white wine sauce and salty clams, topped with parsley. HOLYCOW. I couldn’t stop eating. My husband stole basically 1⁄3 of my meal. He ordered the squid tacos. They were super yummy and surprisingly not tough at all. Just a heads up: this place is casual but expensive. You go in and order at the cash register and its easily $ 25/person and thats without drinks. However, the food is amazing and you get great scenery. We wanted oysters but didn’t order them because is was almost $ 20 for 6 of them! You don’t have a server waiting on you, so you have to go inside and fill your water cups yourself. I’d definitely recommending Fish as San Francisco Experience.

Thought to give this place a try since a friend recommended this place during our visit to San Francisco. There’s a small parking lot in front of the restaurant and a bigger one to the left of it. There were signs saying they would tow, but we just parked in the bigger parking lot anyways. & nothing happened. There’s a few tables inside, but the outdoor view is amazing! Definitely recommend sitting outside, especially when the fog was rolling down the mountain during my visit. The price is a bit ridiculous, so we decided to share: Fish & Chips($ 24)– comes with 3 pieces of fried halibut & honestly smaller than I would like. I can practically eat each pieces in two bites! Probably the best and most expensive fish & chips I’ve ever tried. Other than the small pieces of fish, they gave us a whole plate of potato wedges. Definitely worth the try, but probably won’t be coming back for a long time.

I’m actually pretty disappointed with Fish. in regards to food. So many reviews, it’s Marin County, and it’s California? I really expected more. We decided to grab something to eat before a boat outing and Fish. is right on the marina(A+ on location). The service is really great. Everyone is really nice and knows what’s what on the seafood front. A pitcher of beer is probably one of the best values you can get here so my friends and I opted for beer and oysters. The oysters were pretty disappointing. Maybe I can’t attribute it all to Fish. as much as the catch of the day but the oysters were too sandy. The sauce didn’t work as well as expected either. Fries were solid but standard. The vibes are cool, it’s quasi cafeteria style(tip: get napkins before you sit down. Take it from experience). If you’re on the marina, swing through and get see what comes your way but if you happen to have a little more time on your hands, venture out.

Fish is a fantastic casual seafood restaurant in Sausalito located right on the harbor. My friend took me here for lunch on our bike ride to Sausalito across the San Francisco Bridge and it definitely met my expectations. The best part of Fish is the view of the bay and docked boats — just sitting by the water on a sunny day. The line was long during lunch — out the door, but moved pretty quickly. You line up to order, get a number to put at your table, and when your food is ready the servers bring it to your table. Seating is either inside on rustic tables or outdoors on picnic tables overlooking the harbor. Most people sit outside for the beautiful reviews. Prices are high for lunch($ 15 – 20) but reasonable since the quality of the seafood is great. The two of us shared the bowl of white chowder bowl($ 9), Fish and Chips($ 21), Saigon Salmon sandwich($ 23), and guacamole with chips. Portions are generous with a lot of fries. The food was more than enough for two people; we were absolutely stuffed. You can’t go wrong with fish and chips or clam chowder. They also have great choices for wine and beer. The downside is that there isn’t a place to lock up your bikes. It is also cash only, so make sure you bring at least $ 60 for a meal for two!

CASHONLY!!! Remember to hit up the ATM before coming here and bring a couple of Benjamins. I’m not kidding. This place is expensive. My friend and I ordered a half dozen oysters, a grilled sea bass salad, and a crab roll. My crab roll was just okay. Nothing in the sandwich stood out. The bread was a typical factory produced roll. The filling had little real crab meat. The oysters were fresh but nothing really special. Overall mediocre food and ridiculously inflated prices
