Support your local papery! The only bad thing about Pinestreet Papery is that it SO makes me wish I could be a Martha Stewart type. They have beautiful ribbons and all sorts of other accoutrements to create with… but I didn’t inherit the crafty gene. Luckily they have a great selection of unusual cards and gifts as well. Or perhaps unluckily, as it’s near impossible to leave without purchasing something. A great place to get inspired. Friendly service too.

This is a fun store. I love gift wrapping, boxes, paper, and ribbon. I like that you can buy ribbon by the yard and paper by the sheet. They have a nice selection of cards as well. I went there today to buy a pretty box and some ribbon for a bridal shower, and everyone commented on how beautifully wrapped my gift was. So, I’m quite happy.

When I was planning my wedding, I became a paper snob. I had to learn about GSM and tooth and various whatnots to select the right paper for my letterpress invites, line each envelope carefully, etc., etc. I could care less about it all now, but playing paper sleuth for a time took me to my share of card and paper shops. Pinestreet Papery is one of the nicer shops. It has unique items and is a friendly, warm, large store on Caledonia Street. They have great window displays with the changing seasons and holidays, little gifts, and a great atmosphere. I took a star off because(like everything in Sausalito), it’s too darn expensive! I can get a lot of this stuff cheaper someplace else… and I think we all have our hands on our wallets these days. I also wish they had a frequent shopper program, like one of those punch card thingies. I’d go more often if I knew it would save me a little now and then.

I LOVE this store and often wander in even if I don’t need anything. All of the ladies who work there are so nice and welcoming. I always have my dog with me and she gets the royal treatment — kisses and a biscuit. I try to buy as much as I can at this tiny store which has been in business for something like 30 years now. Cards, gifts, holiday things and wrapping paper — they have it all! Plus, it’s fun to see their cute seasonal displays.

I love stationery stores and Pinestreet is my favorite(tied with Paper Source). After visiting four other stores looking for decent Father’s Day cards, I finally found some here. Though they don’t have the best greeting cards, they do have a better than average selection. The cards aren’t the reason I love this store so. They probably come in second only to the Ribbonerie in terms of their ribbon selection. Stacks of ribbon spools, organized by color, dominate the wall to the left. They have an amazing selection of favor boxes, tissue paper(sold by the sheet) in every color, gift tags, gift wrap(organized by color), party hats, and floral embellishments. If you are obsessed with wrapping gifts or preparing for a wedding, this is your store. Also, I love stickers. The back of the store is sticker central. Spools of stickers are organized by theme and they even have new furry stuffed stickers from Mrs. Grossmans. I love notebooks and note cards and they have great designs from elegant to simple to offbeat. They carry soaps, small toys(e.g., sushi and Japanese rice and noodle bowls wind up toys, cake wind up toys), Japanese sushi magnets, sushi staplers, baskets, chocolates, cupcake candles, napkins, letter sets, paper sold by the sheet, books, stamp pads, rubber stamps, sealing wax, fancy sticky notes, and more. It’s packed to the gills with the things that I love. Note: There are two places inside the store where the level changes. They’ve indicated these spots with red and white tape. Watch your step.

Very cute store. Wonderful cards, papers, stickers, little gifts, etc. I wanted to wander around in there for a good hour. A bit pricey, but that’s the area.

They have black paper available by the pound! I’m sold. I love this place. Everything from quirky cards, guest soaps, little notebooks that fit in your back pocket, stickers by the yard, stickers by the sheet, local interest books, woohoo!

I would like to rate this store poorly. I thought… this is a lame store. expensive uppity paper products. But every … single… damn… time… I go in there with one of my co workers, I find some cute thing for my neice, or nephew, or pop, or mom… or me! It is a cute little unassuming store with lots of cool paper in the front, and a wild assortment of random kitsch and old school toys and books and stickers to the rear. It is a bit foo-foo? Shee — shee? And whatever the hell that means, it is a great flippin store. This is a review by a man’s man… and I approve this store.

They had animal puppets in this store that make the noise of the animal when you move their mouths. It’s really cute. Also have biking books, books for dads, journals, and lots of neat cards and paper. This store is great — I really enjoyed poking around.

Single cutest store in all of Sausalito. Full of little, pretty things: books, ribbons, boxes, toys, stationary, cards, pens, kits, clips, bags… Just about anything that isn’t essential but makes life a little bit nicer. I always buy thank you cards at this store, always unique and beautiful. If you’re in town it’s a nice place to spend a few minutes but otherwise I’m sure there’s a ton of places in the city(think Fillmore) that are basically identical.
