I’ve been searching for the right blond color for a long time. The person before me was getting blond and I didn’t like the color hers came out (too ashy) and was afraid mine would look the same. I was a little concerned and told Scott pretty quickly what I was looking for. He listened to everything I said and totally nailed it. I think it’s the best blond I’ve ever had. Scott listens to what you want, is very entertaining to talk with and also easy to be silent with, and does a great simple cut (which is what I wanted because I’m trying to go out longer). Scott’s fabulous.

As a recent local to Sausalito I was really hoping to find a great hair stylist within walking distance, and that’s exactly what I’ve found. I made an early Saturday morning appointment without much notice and Scott was willing to give me a 9:30am appointment. I got partial highlights and a cut, both came to $ 130, $ 150 w/​tip and Scott did an excellent job. I’m extremely picky about my hair and he really did a fantastic job. Not sure about everyone else, but I really enjoy chatting it up with my hair dresser and Scott was able to fulfill my need for friendly conversation and of course advice about the area since I’m new.
In short: Great prices, really talented hair stylist, and relaxing professional atmosphere.

Scott does a fantastic job providing services such as hair removal, hair styling and salon related services. I have been a patron for over 10 years and he has always provided a great service. I always recommend him to my friends for styling, cuts and hair removal. Let’s face it, guys need quality haircuts, shaves and also nobody likes a hairy guy. Scott has been in business for a long time for a reason. He is talented, reasonable and his schedule is flexible. My husband started going to him first — after trying 4 other stylists in Sausalito. He is very picky and Scott was his hands down favorite. I made the big move over to him this summer and I am delighted. His price is much more reasonable than my old stylist on the Peninsula, and he does a better job! Beware that there are always cookies floating around, the widest selection of hot teas and magazines galore… what better way to spend your salon time?!

I have been going to Scott’s Salon for years with my mom and siblings and love how he does his hair! He is reliable, creative, and amazing at what he does. He will always take extra time to style your hair and give you beauty tips. Being a guy, my hair needs are REAL simple. Scott is near where I work, and I called him up to see if he could do a real quick trim for me.
Very friendly, and I’ve been going to him for a while now. My hair is short, so it’s always a real quick stop-​in, but he’s professional and courteous none the less.
He treats me as well as he treats his much bigger clients, who spend hours with him and pay him well for it. That’s the definition of professionalism if you ask me.

He is the only hairstylist I’ve used that actually knows what ‘to the roots’ means when getting highlights. For the first time in years, I walked out of the salon with blond to scalp, not an unsightly brown ring at my roots.
I also asked for pink highlights weaved throughout the blond, and he did a FANTASTIC job. This is a request that is easy to over-​due, but the placing and shade is perfect.
His eyebrow waxing actually pleases my husband, and I swear my husband is the pickiest man I know when it comes to a woman’s eyebrows.
His prices are half what I was paying in the city, with twice the care and service ($ 125 for a cut and ²⁄₃ highlights, $ 15 for eyebrows).
To top it off, his chai tea was delicious, and he has interesting magazines to read while waiting. Both very important indeed. ;)
I’m moving out of the immediate area, but I plan on making the trip back into Sausalito every time I need my hair done. Scott is def. worth the appointment.

Scott has cut my hair 6 times now, and each time has been great. I’m a man and don’t usually know what I want to be honest, and he does a good job of figuring out what would look best on me and just making it all work. He is pleasant, professional, and reasonably priced. And very convenient here in Sausalito.
Scott is a quirky guy and very sweet. I read the negative review from Rachel and asked Scott about it, and his side of the story was that Rachel had cancelled numerous times on him, and he felt that she did not respect his time. I thought his explanation was quite reasonable.

Scott’s is a hair salon right on Bridgeway in Sausalito. The first time I went there after moving to southern Marin, I went on the recommendation of a friend of a friend.
He did a fairly good job of cut & color, but like many hair stylists he hadn’t quite got the good customer service thing down. It’s not that they are disagreeable, the main problem is that they don’t listen to what you want and they believe they know better what will look good on you and just do it. Well, they are probably right, but if I want my hair blue and bobbed, then that is what I want and what I am paying for. Scott was one of those nice guys who just nodded and continued talking to someone else and then just did his thing with my hair. I looked ok when he finished, but not as I wanted. I’m a «shake my head and let it dry» kind of girl — don’t want to spend 20 minutes, 2 mirrors and a dryer to get it done, so it has to be cut well to keep from looking like the scarecrow from the Wizard of OZ. .. even so I do look a little disheveled most of the time.
Well, I gave him about a 5 on a scale of 10 when he finished. Enough to give him a second chance, besides I didn’t have any back-​ups, since I was new to town. I made another appointment 5 or 6 weeks out on a Saturday. Well, the morning of the appointment came and I woke up with a horrendous migraine headache. No way could I even get out of bed, let alone drive 10 miles. So I called to cancel. Didn’t want to just not show up. Figured he would be real busy and he could slip someone else in that spot whom he had to turn away. Also I wanted to reschedule. When I told him I was very ill and wanted to cancel and reschedule, he interrupted me and said I better make my next appointment somewhere else, because I could never return to his shop and he hung up on me.
Whoa! What do you mean? I can’t get sick? Was he having a bad hair day? A hangover? Now any of you who knows me knows that I was not rude or impolite — not in my nature, I was just sick. Needless to say, I have NEVER returned to this shop, nor have I ever recommended it. And I have never told my friend or her friend what happened. I just quietly slipped away to nicer folks. It’s been a while, maybe he’s mellowed out since then, but I’m not going to find out. .. I can’t guarantee that I’ll never get sick again. My advice: Enter at your own risk.
