I tried the wine slushies and loved them. We ordered a cheese platter and relaxed on the patio overlooking the vineyard. It was simple but elegant presentation. We will go back again and hope to catch the entertainment.

This is a bit more of an intimate environment. It’s almost like tasting wine in someone house. The tasting room is small and can only fit about 6 people at the bar at a time. The lady that was working there was super nice and friendly. It does have a pretty view of a long field with a mountain rising in the distance and some rocking chairs and a lawn with tables to relax on. The wines would get a 3 of 5 stars from me. It was good but so many were heavy on the tannins. I like dry wine but the flavor of these wines just seemed too heavy on the wrong flavors. It wasn’t bad by any means but I also didn’t buy and bottles here.

We did the wine testing 7 wines, $ 10. Honestly we did not find anything special about this place. The person behind the counter was poring tiny amounts of wine with out even giving us any information about the wines we were tasting. Unlike other wineries he had visited before we did not purchase a bottle wine today

Enjoyed view, breeze sitting on porch, cheese plate & wine tasting. Really didn’t want to do anything today but so glad I «went for it». The drive was beautiful, winery quiet and peaceful and tasting good. Cheese plate — never enough for us but we are cheeseaholics. Sitting on the porch watching the world drive by was definitely the«mental health» experience I needed.

Six of us visited Helen for Octoberfest and visited this winery. We did the wine tasting and sat outside overlooking the vineyard and mountains. Beautiful view, great wine and awesome staff. We had a wonderful experience. YOUMUSTHAVETHEWINESLUSHIES!

We had the 8 wine tasting for $ 10 and enjoyed a cool breeze and the scenery overlooking the grape-laden vines. What a beautiful day it tuned out to be. Nice watching the horses romp around in the field below the vineyard. The wines were good. The one I liked the best was the Celebration 2011 but the Sautee White was very good too. The cheese plate was plentiful and the selection of cheeses was good.

We stopped here to try their wines. We were greeted and treated well. There is a small fee to sample their wines. I liked the Luscious Red. My husband liked the Red Headed Stepchild wine.

We stopped here during our engagement weekend! The owners saw us on their enclosed deck and went the extra mile to come outside and check and make sure we were comfortable(offering to light their heaters). They even offered a sampling of their limited Celebration wine to commemorate the occasion(it was not even on their tasting menu)! They definitely made us feel welcome and helped make this a very memorable weekend!!!

UPDATE: in August of 2012, Sautee Nacoochee Vineyards has moved their tasting room to their winery. I’ve stopped by Sautee Nacoochee Vineyards 3 times now and I’ve enjoyed myself each time. They are a small winery and I’m sure you’ll see the owners when ever you visit. This last visit, as I mentioned above, their tasting room had moved about 2 miles west of their original location. It’s now at the winery itself. I really enjoyed the new location. Great views of the valley and the mountains in the background. Top two reasons I liked my last visit: 1) A new and very nice outdoor seating area on a large wrap-around porch. It’s really quiet there and very relaxing. My friend and I happened to meet one of the owners /winemakers and she was a delight to talk with. I think we stayed for almost 2 hours! 2) We really enjoyed the wines. I’m not a wine expert at all but, I’m certainly not a beginner. They produce some very nice white and red wines that we found to be extremely well made. I really enjoyed their Viognier and their Cabernet Sauvignon. They have a wine called Nacoochee Red which I recommend you try as well. Bottom Line: If it’s time to get away from it all and take in the North Georgia Mountains; find a place to relax and enjoy a glass or two of wine that is really different and quite well made — try Sautee Nacoochee Vineyards. I think you’ll love it!

Tucked away at the bottom of the hill, we visited this tasting room with high expectations based on a friend’s recommendation. When we walked to the tasting counter, the young lady behind the counter without saying a word pushed a piece of paper at me. She sat silent looking at me as if waiting for some enlightenment. After a few awkward moments, I told her I wanted to try some wines. She pointed again to the paper on the counter in front of me without saying a word. Finally we get things moving when I told her I wanted to try the red wines if that wasn’t too much trouble and it didn’t cost too much. Not a good start. The wines themselves were okay. Very fruity and a bit sweet. This is a young winery and they are still buying a lot of their fruit from elsewhere including out of state grapes. The cab was very light as was the merlot. I like more earthy wines with a little more character. I think this place is a few years from that right now but they should improve the counter help immediately if they are going to succeed.

We stopped in this tasting room on a lovely Fall Saturday afternoon. There were a number of people enjoying the day on their deck with glasses of wine, as well as a few people inside doing tastings. There was a very capable young lady from Italy working the tasting area, and she greeted us promptly. We opted for the free tasting of their wines, which also included an intriguing wine«slushy», which was made in one of the frozen slushy machines — they had 2 types of slushys — a red and a white. The red one we sampled was quite refreshing, and would be awesome on a warm day sitting on their deck. The wines are tasty — nothing stellar, but some good examples of Georgia wines. The tasting room is tastefully decorated, and they have lots of wine related items for sale as well as bottles of their wine. We will definitely go back when we can stay longer and enjoy the deck with a full pour at a later date.

Saturday afternoon we stopped by the tasting room and there was a very pleasant young lady from Italy working behind the counter. We originally were going to buy a glass of wine and sit out on their deck but it was late in the day and it was close to closing time. However, Nice Lady(I should have asked her name!) offfered us a free tasting, so we decided to go that route instead. We tried about 6 of their wines, and bought a bottle of Red Headed Stepchild to take home with us. Its a nice little red blend and was reasonably priced at $ 15.95 There are a lot of neat items for sale in the tasting room that would make good gifts. We will definately go back and enjoy their deck, they have a great location in the Sautee Valley.
