Buffalo Tap

I work a non-​traditional schedule. I am done working at 10 pm during the weeknights. I have been looking to expand my dinner options after work and there are not many options outside of Applebee’s in Shakopee where I live. Went in with a friend to check this place out since the kitchen is open until 11pm. They didn’t have the same late-​nite app selections, but the full menu looked good. Not being too hungry, we split the seafood plate. It comes with fried and grilled shrimp with beer-​battered cod. We just ordered the plate and said we are splitting it. Where most places will bring out the order and a side plate, they nicely split the order into two dinner plates like two meals. Not only was that super cool, the portions were quite generous. I’d have to be pretty hungry to tackle that plate as a single on my own.

Always a great environment, and great wait staff. Hamburgers and wings are your best bet. Salads are HUGE! Cobb is the best, gyro salad-​iffy.

One of my absolute favorites in Burnsville! I really like the bison and elk burgers. Also the décor is so Minnesota woodsy. Love it!

Friendly service, cozy atmosphere, good beer, and great poutine.
I highly recommend the chili cheese fries (poutine) with pepper jack cheese curds AND cheese on top. Celery in the chili is a unique and tasty touch.
Good fish, burgers, desserts.
Excellent hot sauces.

Love, love, love the cheese curds. Not sure what else I even ordered but the curds are some of the best I’ve sampled in MN. The menu is quite large and there are TV screens all around — we even had one at our own table. Service was great.

Very disappointed… the wings were terrible and the buffalo patty melt was less than appetizing.
On a positive note, Our server was wonderful!
The food was overpriced.
We will not be back.

I’ve seen this place in passing so many time over the years and finally stopped to see what they had to offer. It’s your average bar/​restaurant with burgers, beer and sports. My husband and I came here on a Sunday evening during playoffs. It was busy and loud, but it was a fun time. Our waitress was alright she was quiet busy but did check on us from time to time. I’d come back here for sure.

This place is awesome. Best Juicy Lucy I’ve ever had, great wings, and some of the best service I’ve ever had. Plus the prices are hard to beat! I’ve been here multiple times and it’s consistent, which is hard to come by.

Great place. It was extremely busy, but the wait wasn’t bad, only 8 minutes for a table and food was an appropriate time as well. Large menu with lots of variety. Wonderful grilled shrimp.

This place does a pretty nice job. It is typical bar food but they do it pretty well. Kind of a fun atmosphere and not stuffy. Excellent place to meet a friend for a casual beer and some fries or wings

I thought the food was terrible, minus the cheesy bacon fries, but even those were mediocre! The food made my stomach upset and my significant other was pooping her brains out before we even left the restaurant.
The prices were outrageous for a couple of terrible burgers and some mediocre sides.
The servers were pretty friendly, but that doesn’t make up for food poisoning.
We will definitely not return to this establishment. World Famous Burgers my butt!

Standard pub offerings. Fun atmosphere. Staff is friendly and attentive. Portions are generous and pricing is fair.

After a 5K down in Shakopee, the group decided this place was a must. Having never been and being told they have a huge burger, and said huge burger could be elk or bison — lets go!
Service was good, but hovered on the annoying side. Some in the group would definitely say it was over the line and even beyond annoying. I had hockey to watch, so I barely noticed anything going on.
First, the curds were damn good. Got the original bucket, great stuff. Lighter batter than usual, and fried perfectly.
Burgers… I opted for the biggest sum bitch they had. A 2lb elk juicy lucy with sweet tater tot-​puff things. Ashley opted for a normal Cali elk burger. The rest opted for burgers and the like (I’m terrible with hockey on). The normal long wait for a stuffed burger made us all want to eat a chair. But, after some 40 minutes, they arrive, and then the normal wait to allow the molten cheese to cool a bit.
We did have an issue where her burger was entered as a lucy and that pissed her off. Even after confirming the order with the server twice.
My burger was very good. It lacked a little some-​some though, so I got a bit of their thai bbq to dip with it, way better. The sweet tater tots came out with a cinnamon dipping sauce which was fantastic, and some chipotle style stuff that again was really good. I thought the burger itself was really tasty. I’m a huge fan of game meats, and loved every bite of this one.
Not a disappointment around other than the burger mix up for the woman.

I went in there with my mom and we were greeted and seated right away. Our server took our orders right away which is something I like very much. My mom and I both ordered the big juicy Lucy with fries. The fries were delicious and so was the burger. It perfectly cooked but I wish it had more cheese. The server was awesome and was good at her job and was very easy going. Will go back again.

A variety of meats to choose from for your juicy Lucy! Beef, elk, buffalo with your choice of cheese. Ordered the shroom and Swiss juicy Lucy. After minutes of waiting for it to cool down we got to devour this delicious burg. Second time here and not disappointed. Just remember it takes a while to prepare your order and a while to cool down, so don’t go here for a quick bite. Our waitress was polite and attentive and the restaurant is clean with a hunting-​esque indoor décor.

A huge and extensive menu that offers burgers from a variety of meats. I love the cheese curds and that sort of thing. I know it’s a popular place and the food was decent. I’m sure I just haven’t been here enough to really give it a rave review.

Their sign states «Famous Burgers & Wings» so what else do you think the Gnaw is going to be getting to eat? :) Ordered a Juicy (check out the Juicy Lucy Challenge for ranking) and of course some wings. I went with their medium buffalo sauce and they labeled it «Screaming». Perfect! I like hot stuff, but not uncomfortable hot. I’m thinking I could handle their B.T. Original «Kiss of Death» just fine… The medium was not at all hot, BUT was very good and not just Frank’s Red Hot. In fact it had a nice buttery flavor similar to that of Hooters (but a different flavor all-​together). Definitely good wings and worth eating if you’re in the Savage area.
#6 on the juicy list
Decided it was time to check out the Buffalo for some grub and right on the sign… «Famous Burgers & Wings». Decision made I guess! :) Wings and a Juicy it was and they were pretty darn good, for the most part. The burger needed to be seasoned a little better or more consistently, because several of my bites hit me «Mmm, that was a good one!». The other thing I would do to make this a better Juicy, add more cheese! If you think it’s enough, it’s not!

Visited the Buffalo Tap tonight with a large group including three children under the age of 4. Service was exceptional even though we were a difficult group to handle. Ordered the buffalo chicken wrap and subbed grilled chicken for fried chicken strips and subbed onion rings for fries. Both were really good — an «American» meal is how I described it to my brother. It was exactly what I had hoped for and more.
Place was packed by 6pm on a Thursday night.

Now I know that everyone goes here for the burgers so bear with me…
My partner and I had fish and our friend ordered a burger. (Cheese curds also!) My fish sandwich was decent, my partner’s fish mediocre and nothing extraordinary from the burger. The cheese curds were very salty ! I’ve experienced better.
The wait was amazingly long and there is no waiting area. It was packed and very uncomfortable.
My overall experience was not grand and I see no reason to revisit. Our waitress was pretty nice, however.
Not a place for me. Especially not a place for vegetarians. I still always hope that a burger joint will know how to do something more than average.

Juicy Lucy! And always with American cheese cause it melts the best
Fries are just ok, but the state fair like sides and desserts are yum!
