Amazing food. Super cute environment. Would highly recommend this location for date night. Been here twice for dinner and each experience was flavorful and unique.

Small menu with great flavor. Even the oatmeal was fantastic. Everything tastes homeade. If you can catch rib night get some. The BBQ sauce is amazing!

Oops! It was so good I forgot to take a pic before. This left over creamy decadence was their biscuits and gravy(see pic of empty bowl). There was a dance party going on in my mouth the entire time I was eating. Super cool, old train depot turned into a breakfast place. Great food! We also had the California omelet(two thumbs up) and shared a rhubarb muffin(get it warmed up).

So worth going out of our way to eat here. I had the Steak & Mushroom, kids had the Biscuits and Gravy, California Omelet & The Gregory. I have never, EVER, EVER eaten a breakfast outside of my own kitchen where every plate was perfectly seasoned. Kudos to this place! If I could give ten stars on Unilocal,I would be happy to give you 20!

So all he 5-star reviews are right. This cozy former railroad depot is bright and tastefully decorated. The service is attentive and excellent. The food, the food where do I start. Biscuits and gravy were as good as I have ever tasted and the Mexican scramble satisfies the most discriminating California palate. :)

We are visiting MN and wanted a local breakfast. I am SO glad we stopped here. Everything is scratch made, even the sausage! My family of 5 had the pancakes(demolished by the kids), a blueberry muffin(oversized and FILLED with blueberries and a wonderful crisp sugar top), the mexican scramble w/a side of rosemary potatoes(fresh herbs, fresh guac, fresh salsa… filled with fresh and spot on flavors!), and the best for last… The AMAZING biscuits and gravy. Seriously people. This is hands down THEBEST gravy I have ever had. Ever. I could drink a bowl of it. Come here. You won’t be disappointed.

Went here for breakfast a little before 12:00 but was too late! Ha, was too busy this morning to eat right away. Anyways, we got the hot pastrami, and the kelly. The hot pastrami was alright. It is a huge portion though! Only finished half and brought the other half home to eat. Not too much flavor, but overall it wasn’t bad. Warning though, there is mustard! The kelly was good. It was a fresh burger, it had cheese and was really overpowering with mushroom flavor, but it wasn’t bad. Just wish there was more variety in the lunch menu.

Love this place. You see this cute little depot and you wonder what’s going on inside! Holy Crap! It is amazing. I’m not going to tell you about the fresh baked products, the care in preparation, attention to detail. This is one of the best kept secrets in Minnesota! Go and find out for yourself! Soon!

This is THE best kept secret of Savage, MN! A breakfast worth raving about. If a restaurant is gutsy enough to have an item on their menu called«Amazing biscuits ad gravy,» it better be good and it wasn’t good. It was amazing. The eggs and potatoes are a nice addition but the made from scratch gravy and sausage is what does it. I also had the rhubarb muffin — it was unique and tasty. I tried the Mexican scrambler as well and I could come in every day for breakfast just to have that. I will add the picture. The place is small and quaint, the service is personal, and the owners Paul and Cindy are worth getting to know!

We stopped in for breakfast with our two daughters(1 and 3) and had great food and even better service. When you go somewhere with kids, it’s great to feel welcomed! We love stopping in for coffee and pastries during the farmer’s market in summertime. Next up is dinner.

The best food I’ve had in Burnsville by far. Everything on the menu is great and really high quality for a reasonable price. Shocked there’s not a line to get in at all times but I’ll take it. The Kelly burger(no meat just mushrooms) is ridiculously good as are the other meat based burgers. Small, cozy, well decorated, and overall just awesome. Don’t miss out.

good. I had 2 fried eggs, rosemary potatoes, bacon and bread. Hubby had the mexican scramble. My eggs were really good, the potatoes were on the bland side & could be more robust, the bacon was thick and delicious, the bread was good. My Husband really liked his mexican scramble a lot. I think overall, his was better than mine… I had a taste. We both felt the menu was on the small side for choices. Haven’t tried the bakery yet.

We live super close, but only finally tried them since the new management last weekend. The hostess was super nice and told us about some of the different things on the menu. She genuinely seemed to love get job and the food there. I had steak & mushrooms eggs benidic, a rutabaga muffin and cold fire and ice tea. All amazing! My husband had sausage biscuits & gravy, a blueberry muffin and the same tea. Also very good, but I think we both thought my food was better. We will definitely go again.

Do you like breakfast? Do you want something unique with a small town feel? Do you not like the chains? Well, I think this is the place for you! My girlfriend and I were looking to try a new breakfast spot, something close to where we lived and wasn’t a chain. We of course looked to Unilocal to help us find such a place and Flavor at the Depot popped up. Flavor is located in downtown Savage; yes, there is a downtown Savage :-P It’s inside an old train station building, with décor to match the roots of the building. As you walk in, you’re sense of smell is hit by fresh ground coffee and your eyes make your mouth drool as you eyeball the fresh made blueberry muffins in the bakery case. We were quickly ushered into the seating area, which was up a handful of steps. The dining area isn’t huge, but has a cozy feel with a fireplace and windows that look out to the main road. Just about everything on the menu is under $ 10; so, not a bad way to start the day with fresh made breakfast. Here’s what we ordered up… * The Usual(eggs, meat, toast, roasted rosemary potatoes) * California Omelet(bacon, tomatoes, Monterey Jack, scallions, avocado) * Blueberry Muffin * Cappuccino I love breakfast and I have to say, this place has the stuff to make breakfast that is on point. The rosemary potatoes definitely steal the show… I could simply have that as breakfast! The bacon was crispy, toast was done right and came with tasty jam on the side. The omelet was a winner(and seemed like a new item), fresh avocado balanced a Siracha crème and spicy cheese; decent serving size and cooked right(not over/under cooked). The muffin, seriously you need to order a muffin or 2 or 3, perhaps 4 like we did; hey, we got 3 to go… don’t judge us!!! #needisaymore If you live in the southwest metro and want something different, give this place a chance.

Went to Sunday brunch with my boyfriend and his mon and was not disappointed. It was a gorgeous morning to sit on the deck and enjoy our food. My boyfriend had the biscuits and gravy(the eggs on top were a nice addition), his mom had the California omelette, and I loved the Mexican scramble. The pico de gallo was fresh, the homemade guacamole was so delicious we asked for another fried corn tortilla to make sure it didn’t go to waste, and the proportions were large but not excessive. We also ended up taking a rhubarb muffin home that was incredibly moist with a crunchy top

You have to try this restaurant! The food is phenomenal. We had salad with homemade balsamic dressing, green chile burger recommended by our server(fantastic!), and chocolate salted caramel bread pudding. Try the iced teas as well! Great service, delicious food, ample parking!

We stopped in randomly while doing some furniture shopping down in Savage and we loved it! We are planning on making a trek back down there just to eat here again! The food was delicious and fresh. I also had a great latte, and I am kind of a coffee snob, so anyone who makes a killer latte is good in my book!

Delightful setting(in an old train depot), delicious food(I had the herbed turkey dip sandwich on ciabatta with a beet salad) and friendly service. The side doors of the depot open wide to let the summer air in… almost like everyone has a patio seat. They also have pies(like fresh rhubarb and chocolate), but get there early or they’ll be out. An assortment of pastries will satisfy your sweet tooth, too. This place is a gem. 5 stars without a doubt.

Amazing food. Don’t miss the rosemary roast potatoes! Service was rather slow/disorganized, but it’s a great place to go if you’re looking for fantastic brunch at a leisurely pace. Just be ready to check in with the staff if you think you may have been overlooked.

The best muffin I have ever had. Chose the rhubarb and it did not disappoint. The breakfast special California omelet was perfectly crafted with generous amounts of tomato and bacon topped with fresh avocado drizzled with a sriracha sauce. And service was definitely«Minnesota friendly».

Biscuits and gravy rock. I came from Atlanta to get them. I really like the décor and atmosphere. They seem to have a good take out traffic, but the restaurant wasn’t that busy.

I’ve eaten here a few times under different Owens and I really enjoy the aesthetic of this place. Is old, small and quiet. The food since its reopening has greatly improved. The menu is small but so is the place, so that works. Biscuits and gravy is a dining staple of my life at breakfast places and this place has by far the best and uniquely flavored. They use Rosemary in their gravy and Rosemary is by far my favorite herb to cook with. This is not standard café food. If you’re in the savage area or just looking for some thing nice stop in and support a small local place like this one.

5 stars — great food, friendly staff, and local! You will definitely find something that you like on their menu for breakfast, lunch, AND dinner. When it was the Savage Depot and now Flavor at the Depot — they’ve been consistent in the quality of their food and service. They really enjoy and take good care of their customers –whether you’re a regular or stop in from time-to-time. Yesterday and today I was communicating with them via Facebook message with a few questions and I received quick responses which was great. I purchased a gift card here and they even offered to drop it off at my home if I lived close and wasn’t able to pick it up in time(due to work). I was able to pick everything up myself but the fact that they were willing to go above and beyond to make sure my holiday needs were met was really great. My parents love this place for the live music they have on the weekends. It’s a good spot to sit down and enjoy a meal with someone close to you — no TV’s, intimate setting, and great food. I highly recommend stopping at Flavor at the Depot for breakfast — even better is during the summer time when the Savage farmer’s market is going on since it’s in the parking lot! Thank you Flavor at the Depot :)
