The booze is cheap, the staff is friendly, the décor is chic and it’s open late in midtown. This place is great for a date or just to chill out. Order food if you’re really hungry, otherwise I’d pass.

2.5 stars really… but couldn’t bring myself to give it 3… while I was there I tried: the Nutty White Russian, Rusty Nail, dumplings, baked brie, brie and blue chips, ahi tuna(really crappy) and hummus. Nothing I ate was terrible, but nothing I ate was noteworthy. I’m not a bad review kind of guy… but underwhelming, confused, and cramped.

Wanted to try the food… But, since the«bartender» didn’t know how to make an old fashioned, I left after I drank the expensive bourbon I ordered with fruit dropped in to the bottom of the glass…

There are some tough reviews on Unilocal for Bar Food, however I wanted to give it a try and decide for myself. I’m SO glad I did! The food was delicious, my drinks were perfect… made my Josh(who was amazing)! Will be returning and suggest that you give this place a try!

Great drinks(thanks Josh) and fabulous food. We shared the bleu chips with bacon(of course) and I wished I wasn’t in public. They were SO good. Next we had Crab cakes which were the best I have ever had outside my own home. Since we had difficulty deciding what to order we also had the steamed dumplings which were yummy. We saw the Ahi as it was being delivered to another patron and decided we must have it as well… to say it was a decadent experience would not be stretching it at all. We will be back!

Way, way overpriced for what you get. It doesn’t make sense to have 10 dollar cocktails in a midtown stripmall. It just doesnt. The food, as others have noted, is unremarkable and also overpriced. The interior is decked out in ikea and a little cramped. Barfood tends to draw an older crowd of neighborhood folk. For me, I’d rather stay home and sit in my ikea furniture and eat my homemade unremarkable food. Much better value.

The décor was decent. An attempt to be modern. Our server was friendly. The martini I ordered took forever to come. My dumplings were fine. My friend wasn’t impressed with her sliders. Again, it took forever to get the check, and to run my credit card. When I received my credit card receipt, I noticed that I was over charged $ 10. They waiter did apologized, but it was never corrected on the receipt. They just gave me back $ 10 cash. No apology from the manager. I would not recommend this place or come back. Food is not impressive and service is awful.

Unremarkable well-worn French-Asian fusion menu. Bulgogi is well spiced but veggie accompaniment is a bit odd(broccoli and cauliflower?) Understaffed, so front service is slow during rush, but friendly when they have time. Located in a low-key upscale neighborhood with regular middle-aged and older clientele of a certain income bracket; a few younger folks from the nearby art college. No television which I find a huge plus. Safe selection of libations including wine and draught beer, but beer is significantly marked up. Quick kitchen service. Best to visit outside peak hours but nothing to go out of your way for unless you live nearby. Probably won’t make an effort to visit again unless friends want to eat here.

this is the Cheers of the neighborhood, but if you are a tourist, you can meet locals here because it is a very friendly place. Limited menu, great drink specials, rainbow friendly, nice wines by the glass.

Love this place! The bartenders are super friendly and knowledgeable, the beer/liquor/wine selection is really good(I had a tasty sauvignon blanc from Australia), the food is amazing(try the blue cheese chips with pulled pork!) —((btw«Bar.Food» is really not«bar food».)) Also the décor is good, good vibes here, they have live music some nights… I used to live close by and would go on nights when they had a $ 1 drink special, not sure if they still do that. Overall it’s a great place to go to chill with a date or friends, and have some good eats and nibbles.

totally overpriced and freakishly pathetic food and staff. 3 stars for imagination but execution is horrible. been twice, hoping third time is a charm. not vegetarian friendly but better than most places along this strip.

This bar is great! We have been here quite a few times and had a blast! Bartenders are fun and know their stuff. I had the ribs which were cooked perfect and whatever is in the sauce is totally amazing. I can’t wait to go back for more.

Bar. Food is the WORST, mostly b/c of the service. Steer clear of the female bartender with tattoos. We live only a few blocks from Habersham Village, so we have been here several times. After our last, predictably bad experience, we finally gave up on this place. As you can see from a number of reviews, our experience is not an anomaly; if you’re in the area go to 5 Spot instead, you’ll be glad you did.

Small but comfy seating. The Brie was good. The bartender was nice enough but covering too much so the service was a bit slow. The beef sliders left much to be desired… old meat… ick. Sent them back after the first bite. The bbq pork ok but not something I will ever crave. The bbq sauce was very good though. Overall not impressed so won’t be adding this to my regular rotation.

With a name like Bar. Food, you’d think youd expect jalapeño poppers and fried mozzarella sticks. Um, no. This is Savannah. This is a tad fancier. ;) Located off the touristy area of Savannah(thank god), in Habersham village, well away from the dregs of fanny pack wearing, camera toting, trolley riding fools. whoo hoo! I never miss this place when I come home. Great drinks, first and foresmost. However, the food is delicious. The Blue Chips. um, yes please! I am also a huge fan of the mussels – I lap up that broth like a dog. Sometimes you want a big ol plate of nachos. and they serve up some goooood nachos. The cheese platter is to die for. In all, come chow down.

I was really excited to eat at Bar Food for my pre-movie dinner. I was expecting a great experience. Instead I was greeted at the door by an extremely rude man. He looked at my boyfriend and I said«Who are those people?» with a look on his face like someone had just asked him to take a bite out of a shit sandwich. My boyfriend asked if they were open to which the man scoffed and replied in his condescending tone«Ha. Private party tonight… thanks tho…» and he walked off. I said«Oh there wasn’t a sign on the door.» to which I received no reply even though the owner was standing there within ear shot behind the bar. No apology for how rude the person who I’m assuming was throwing the party had been to us. I was shocked. Needless to say I won’t try to visit Bar Food again and I will be sure to everyone about my experience there.

Great appetizers for good price. Ultimately like Cheers. Tuesday night is $ 1/drink special and they have a DJ on the same night. Otherwise, they have a juke box for tunes. Not sure if they still have…$ 1 well drinks friday night ~6 to 8 pm. Also, sometimes they have plate specials for dinner. There is a few tables outside for smokers or pet lovers. Both are always friendly and not obnoxious about blowing smoke on you or letting the pet jump up, etc. One of my favorite places to sit unless I am in a big crowd. If you go and new to the area, see if Johnny or Paula are about and introduce yourself. It is a great place to have for midtown Savannah. Plenty of FREE parking. *They don’t accept American Express.
