We tried Basil’s for the first time today and it was awesome. I had the Greek pizza very good, my son had the spaghetti and really loved the kids room they provide, and I loved the fact that you can see what’s going on in there because there’s a camera in the room that’s linked to a big flat screen near where you sit. Service was great, and their sweet tea is actually sweet, which I’ve said in other reviews that’s kind of a big deal to me. I also really appreciated the fact that the kids spaghetti was a big serving and only $ 6 which is a great value compared to an Italian restaurant on Wilmington that we did not have a good experience with only a few days ago. If you have kids it’s great, but even if you don’t they have a nice bar area for just the adults. And their deserts are really yummy too with lots of choices, they get a five star from me for great service, atmosphere and price.

They have great live bands. Today… the service just SUCKS! Normally the waitress does a great job. The problem is that the bar is showing college football games and I understand she wants her tips. #PeopleListeningToTheBandMatters

Have been going to Basil’s for years and used to rave about it to my friends. However, the last several times we have been there it was anything but impressive. Particularly since they opened the bar. Never seem to have the same staff and service is consistently poor. Visited yesterday and ordered the lasagna. Canned would have been better. Served Luke warm and burnt on the edges. Obviously left over from the day before. Could not eat it. When mentioned this to the waitress she just giggled. No offer to compensate. Will not return anytime soon.

Been here several times and it’s consistently good. The wait to be seated area always seems to have slow service but it doesn’t stop me from coming back. I’ve had a wide variety of dishes and all are good. No great but good. Live music is played some nights. Fun, clean environment. I’ll keep coming back.

Being a pizza place they are a bit on the pricey side. Nonetheless, this place grows on you and I do not mind paying a little extra for a local, family owned restaurant. They have a large dining room for dining with a family and a bar area for grabbing drinks and apps with friends. The food is always very good and the draught beer selection is by far the one of the best on the island. If you have kids, they have a kids room to keep them occupied while waiting for your food, drinks, etc. Not to mention, they also have a wonderful Fro-Yo dessert bar with all the toppings a 3 year old can ask for. If they feature live music, be sure to sit outside to enjoy the music and weather.

One of our top Pizza, Calzone & Appetizer Spots for years. Always great service, great attitudes & fair prices. You must try the Snickers Pie. Nuff said. Basils has renovated over the last 5 year’s I’d calculate. They have a bar and liquor licence its safe to safe. Walking in there’s a total different atmosphere from what Frank n I are use to in this establishment. The games are playing and from what I see that left side area is really nice with a touch of class tho I didn’t walk over inside. Then there’s the right side that has has booths and regular tables, unlike the left they have high tables and some booths. I do not know if its smoking on left with bar. Tho I personally would rather not choke from someone’s nicotine kick. Play room is still in the back for children with large open area to see. Will of course be back to visit the newly improved Basils which was great b4 but even better with a more upscale twist. What a delightful place. FranknKimm. Over & Out Y’all

3.5 stars Pros: good craft beer selection, friendly enough staff, excellent white pizza, nice location and vibe Cons: bad hummus(like.really bad), unreliable service*, and a check that was higher than it should’ve been* First visit: We ended up getting charged 19.99 for a pizza that should’ve cost 16.99, and my husband didn’t get offered a refill on an empty beer for almost 20 minutes. Service was bad and I’m very patient. Second visit: We had different bartenders this second time and the service was WAY better. That being said, our order was wrong. Being only our second time we ordered a wedge not knowing what to expect. We ended up getting a calzone according to our check. The bartender graciously fixed it after realizing there was a miscommunication. Still an odd coincidence that the check was higher than it should’ve been on both visits. We’d be willing to return for the food for sure.

Love the food! Love that they deliver! I think they have the best desserts! The baklava is always yummy. They still have the yogurt bar, and fabulous cheesecake choices.
