We went there to enjoy lunch a couple of months ago and our waitress asked us to move to another table because someone said our child was too loud. This is not a good place to bring your family and we have not been back since. I’m disgusted and offended that she would have the nerve to ask us to leave. Maybe it’s because we were young and black. Either way if you have children or if you are black I suggest you take your business to a place that does not discriminate against young minorities with families. B tillman makes me sick. Great food though.

Excellent food and the service is top notch. They are attached to a famous cookie store Byrds since 1924

All I can say is YUM!!! And the décor is very hip. Great spot for a date or with family and friends. My only issue is that they do not have high chairs for kids so obviously it’s not kid friendly. Although, the staff were all VERY friendly and accommodating! I highly recommend

I am a local and have eaten at B. Tillman(Waters) before. My previous experiences were great. The food was delicious, the service was excellent. I decided to eat here yesterday with a friend for lunch. The experience was a bad one. There were six tables occupied upon entering. One was a party of 5 or 6 and the others were two-tops and all but two tables had their food. There were two waitresses. Our waitress took our order quickly. She came back after 35 minutes and said the kitchen lost our ticket. She apologized and stated that our food would be out soon. Once the food arrived, we had been there for 55 minutes. The hamburger was not cooked inside. The waitress took the plate back and had another cooked. As I sat with my food getting cold, we waited another 10 minutes for the second plate. When it came, the manager stated that our lunch was«comped». As my friend cut into her burger, it was cooked the same. After nearly 75 minutes, we left. We did eat some food but will never go back. As locals, we need good food, fast service, and a chance to enjoy. Good luck.

I ate here yesterday for lunch. The last time I ate here it was called the Cookie Bar. It’s still owned by the Byrd family, just the name has changed. First the positives: the staff was friendly, the restaurant was clean, and well lit. The negatives: they had 2 servers for their lunch service. The food was over priced and not worth the money charged($ 12 for a grilled cheese sandwich.) As long it took my server to get to me, I almost left. She apologized and explained they were busy. I don’t blame a server when the restaurant doesn’t have enough help. It’s not their fault. We placed our drink and food orders, and waited. I noticed there is no seasoning on the table. It will be brought upon request. Finally the food arrived. My wife had an under seasoned tomato soup that had a very acidic bite. I had a burger. I ordered it well done. I’ve had plenty of burgers that were well done and not as dry as the Sahara. It was also seasoned strangely. My grandmothers $ 12 grilled cheese, while good, wasn’t worth what we paid. When the check arrived, they brought key lime coolers from the cookie company. Those were good. I will continue to buy their cookies, they are good after all, but I will never eat at their restaurant again. If you go, I hope your experience was better than mine.

We have been living in the Savannah area for about 6 months so it has taken us some time to get around to trying B. Tillmans. We have gotten the cookies from Byrds before and always loved them so after church today we decided to go here for brunch instead of staying in the historic district. The thing about eating Sunday brunch downtown is that there always tends to be a wait at most places. We walked into B. Tillman and were seated right away so right away kudos! The inside is super cute and the staff was friendly. We put in our orders and then our waiter brought us some complimentary biscuits with homemade jam. Thank you for that because we were starving so that helped to tie us over until our food came. I ordered the Fried Chicken and Biscuit with gravy and breakfast potatoes and my fiancé ordered the CAB Burger. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I really liked their potatoes. Most of the time breakfast potatoes taste the same no matter the restaurant but theirs were slightly different and very enjoyable. Will definitely be back. Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is the price was slightly higher than we are used to paying for brunch(with tip, $ 40 for two with no apps and water to drink) but that is only a minor issue. Food, atmosphere and staff are all A+.

We have had dinner at this restaurant twice in the past few months. It is located in the Byrd Cookie Company building off Waters Avenue. The company owns the restaurant and it is housed in the area where the company previously sold its products. The ambiance is quiet, serene with unobtrusive background music. The menu, while limited, has excellent offerings and there are always a few specials added each evening. The chef is creative without being«out there» and we have not been disappointed with our dinners. We would highly recommend this restaurant.

Had dinner at B. Tillman last night and loved everything about it. Sat in a super comfortable booth by the bar, which offered the perfect amount of privacy AND the ability to do the much loved people watching. The lavender lemon cocktail was perfectly sweet and fragrant, and refreshing. Great wine list too. I could go on for days about the food. I was with two friends(who were equally delighted) and we shared several dishes. Spinach gnocchi — perfect texture, silky gorgonzola cream and perfectly earthy mushroom duxelle. Who doesn’t love pork belly? Especially when it’s crispy(and perfectly fatty) with accompaniments that offered just the right saltiness, sweetness and acidity. Frisee salad with poached egg, pommes frites and bernaise?! Yes please. Seared scallops with carrot purée, lemon brown butter and other lovliness, and braised pork with spaetzle and kale that tasted like my momma made it. Dessert was the blueberry crème brûlée — TDF! Friendly attentive service from both the server and manager. Loved it. Will be back soon. And repeatedly. I should add… I love downtown Savannah as much as the next person, but it’s so refreshing to be able to get this level of dining on the southside — finally! Keep up the good work. Next — on to BT’s in Drayton tower. Stay tuned.
