we are sitting right now in the Café M while I’m writing this short review. A really nice place french bistro style — not by accident it’s operated by folks from Paris. Very, very friendly service — you feel very welcome. We are just having an espresso and a cappuccino and some pastry — so I can’t talk about the food — but the coffee is great. We enjoy just sitting in the bistro, drinking coffee and reading a book(after finishing this review).

The best part of waking up is of course being alive, but the second best part is the coffee. We eyeballed Café M while walking to the inn on Saturday. We agreed on having breakfast there Sunday morning. This little café had my name written all over it. The white walls, the rustic wood floors, the French style patio tables and the refurbished furniture is how I would describe the perfect café. This is why Savannah felt like a dream. Not only was the café super cute and filled with so many delicious options, but the staff’s friendliness was memorable and something that should not go unnoticed. I’m usually not a huge fan of drip coffee in a cardboard cup, which is why I normally order lattes when they are to-go. I was so happy when they offered coffee in a mug. I’m not ashamed to admit that I am a bit of a coffee snob, or just extremely detailed and picky when it comes to my coffee. That first cup is the best cup and it has to be taken seriously. I also hit the coffee jackpot since they had a medium dark roast brewed. I don’t waste my time with light roast. Everything was delicious. They had breakfast sandwiches, pastries, oatmeal and more!

Out of all of the restaurants in Savannah, this one was actually my favorite. It did’t hurt that the staff was incredibly upbeat and friendly, or that the café itself was decorating so clean but keeping to the French theme… the food. THEFOOD. The croissants were oh so buttery and so flaky. The melted cheese with the warm croissant was nothing short of sinfully satisfying. Also, the coffee is fresh and actually good. I also got a chocolate croissant to go(you should, too) and it was still just as yummy several hours later!

Great service, delicious food. The croissant sandwiches are nutritious and delicious. I thought it was very honorable that the waitresses don’t let you tip them, they always select the no tip option on the iPad’s when you are paying with card. Thankfully I had some cash to tip them with, they deserved it.

An excellent little French café. It’s very dainty, and the waitress was very sweet and attentive. She looked the part in a great Parisian dress. I walked in as they opened and the smell of freshly baked chocolate was divine. I got a ham and cheese melt croissant and a chocolate croissant along with a salted caramel latte. Everything was excellent quality. I would compare the prices to a Starbucks, and so to me it was worth it. I only go to Starbucks as a treat, and this was a treat for me. I will also say the quality of the food and the coffee far exceeded a Starbucks. But I use it as a comparison because of the pricing. It’s a great little shop, and a good place to cool off from the Southern heat. I enjoyed it immensely. Will probably be back tomorrow.

Cute little French bistro with a lovely atmosphere for a nice lunch or snack. Love their iced tea presentation! The baked goods are also fabulous. Will definitely be back.

I was in Savannah for a one night stop and as always there are too many choices for places to eat and not enough time or stomach space. As I have been visiting Savannah for many years, I have recently tried to only eat at places I haven’t been before. Not much of a challenge in a food culture city like Savannah. There are many cafes and breakfast stops around, but Café M stuck out to me for several reasons. The atmosphere has an European café feel to it, with small tables and wicker backed chairs, a beautiful french dresser used as a sideboard, and large almost floor to ceiling windows with morning light pouring in. I was instantly impressed and could easily imagine myself languoring over a cappuccino and croissant on a Sunday morning. The service was impeccable. We were greeted as soon as we walked in with warm smiles and an explanation of the menu. The food menu is small and limited to a few sandwiches on baguettes and a few croissant melts, but do not lack in quality despite the lack of options. I had the brie and walnut croissant which came warm, flaky, and filled with brie goodness. The flavors were rich and a little heavy. I would have preferred to share this croissant with someone for dessert and not have eaten it as my entire breakfast. My husband ordered the chicken salad croissant and I have to say, as one of my favorite types of sandwich, this was one of the best chicken salads I have ever tasted. Would definitely recommend ordering that if you’re looking for something a little more filling. We each ordered a different flavored latte that were made with Monin syrup. Excellently prepared with just the right amount of flavor, not overly sweet, but enough to make it a unique drink. Overall, the atmosphere of the café is 5 stars. The employees couldn’t have been sweeter or more accommodating, and the general ambiance whisked me straight back to a Parisian street café. The only downside to this café was the price. For our two croissants and two lattes, our bill was $ 24. We could have easily got two large plates of food and coffee for that price at another establishment. If you’re looking for a quick snack or latte, this café is perfect. If you’re really hungry and looking for a meal, I would go somewhere where you get a little more bang for your buck. Definitely a must try while in the city!

As a foodie and an aspiring frenchie I can say it is rare that I absolutely love a place that serves French food. I lived in France for four months so I have pretty high standards BUT this place hit the ball out of the park!!! It has the best croissants and pain au chocolat I have ever had outside of France. My boyfriend who is a coffee snob says their espresso is the best he has had in months. This place is so good we went twice in one day. I would say it’s a must stop!!! Plus it is so not touristy which in my opinion is wonderful. Plus, if you speak French you will have friends there.

As good as I heard it would be! This is a cute and cozy little café with AMAZING customer service. I ordered a smoked salmon croissant and it was melt in your mouth good, along with a cappuccino. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

I came here with my parents looking for a quick bite to eat. I ordered the brie, honey, walnut croissant melt. My dad ordered the smoked salmon croissant sandwich. And my mom ordered the Parisian baguette sandwich. I really enjoyed the croissant melt, especially with that melted brie! The baguette sandwich was on the dry side for me. My mom and I also ordered an iced chai and iced latte. Wish we didn’t ordered them; they’re not stellar. Iced latte tasted like cheap espresso and the iced chai was watered down. Overall, the place is mediocre and I’m sure Savannah has other great bakery/coffee shops.

Really enjoyed this place! In town for a mini vacation and looked up somewhere for brunch and stopped here. It’s a quaint little Parisian café style set up. Friendly staff. Relaxed and quiet inside. I got the mozzarella tomato and pesto croissant melt with a latte and I cleaned my plate! My boyfriend had the bacon quiche which he devoured. We leave tomorrow but will be back for more breakfast before we head out!

Stopped here for lunch on our recent weekend in Savannah. Very glad we did as we had a great lunch. Offering a small menu, your choices are limited, but don’t let that deter you. I had the Normandy Baguette Sandwich. Brie cheese, with ham, pears, walnuts, and spring mix leaves on a crunchy baguette. Yummo! My husband had the Normandy as a salad, with a side baguette. My teen had a smoked salmon croissant, and loved it. Seating outside as well as inside, and the staff is terrific. Will definitely be back on our next trip to Savannah. We have to go back to try the chocolate croissant as we heard it’s excellent!

Absolutely love this place. The decors are so cute and chic. Despite that it was raining, we still felt wonderful and really relaxing when getting coffee and lunch at this place. The service was exceptional. They were so friendly and welcoming. After we placed our order, the staff brought our food to where we sat. They even came back to check on us several times and took the dirty plates. I ordered the croissant melt with mozzarella, sundried tomatos, pesto and prosciutto. It was so delicious. The cons are they run out of baguette sandwich very quickly, tables and seats are also very limited.

Very cute little shop. The chocolate croissant is so good it feels like you’re sitting in a Paris café. We also had the Brie, honey, walnut and turkey melts, also wonderful. It is on the river side, street level, set back, next to the River Street Inn.

Stopped into Café M while waiting on a table at Huey’s just around the corner. Great atmosphere when you enter with an eclectic assortment of tables, most with wicker backed chairs. We choose a pink praline croissant and two black coffees. The set up is a little odd, no signage to point out where to sit or order, but don’t make the mistake of sittings before you place your order. Order from the cash register located up front and whoever is helping you will plate your order and walk you to a table(I saw a couple asked to move that had seated themselves before ordering, can get a bit confusing when busy). The pink praline croissant was just okay on my visit but the coffee was great(hard to get it wrong). I loved all the windows and the assortment of antique furniture around the shop. They have individual cream and sugar packets at each table, although I’m a fan of chilled, non-packaged half-and-half, so they didn’t win me over on that one. I’d go back for a coffee(the lady helping us offered a refill at one point, we declines, but there *might* be free refills on coffee) and to try the pastries again, I loved the atmosphere and feel of the shop, with French music playing in the background, however the layout and pink praline croissant left me feeling underwhelmed.

Ok, I am sorry but not worth five stars. My husband ordered a ham and cheese croissant which was good but nothing original or to wow about. I ordered a butter croissant and yes it was good but, again, not much different than other French bakeries. Now about the Lattes, again, they were good but a bit small and pricey. The café is tiny so it can get overcrowded. Not many tables. We had to clean our own table. The staff is not the friendliest either. Overall, I enjoyed the food and coffee but would I return, probably not
