Buyer Beware. Unhappy with business practices of owner (s) and employees.
I went to the store, since I just moved here and prefer to shop local. BIG MISTAKE. THESE PEOPLE TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU AND TRY TO SLIP EXTRAS INTO THE SALE WITHOUT TELLING YOU THE COST AND THEY REMOVE THE PACKAGING BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE STORE SO THAT YOU CANNOT RETURN THE PRODUCT. They have a whole game going and it stinks. It is very deceptive and they are unreasonable to deal with.
I told the clerk I wanted comfortable shoes to support me during pregnancy. I picked out several pairs. Before I even tried on the first pair, the sales clerk (Charlene) said, «Let’s start with these,» and slipped some inserts into the first pair. The shoes were close to $ 300 and she treated the inserts like they were basically a gift or if anything, a nominal amount. She continued to go through the shoes I picked, saying how the inserts go from one to another. They didn’t have the color shoes I picked in my size, so she said I could pay for them and pick they up at the other store. I did, and they took the inserts out of the box at the register and handed them to me. Within 15 min I arrived at the other store and realized that the shoes I was picking up had too high a heel for me. They exchanged them for me and I bought 2 other pairs. When I got home and looked at my receipt, I realized I had been originally charged over $ 45 for the inserts AND I WAS NEVER EVER TOLD THAT I WAS BUYING $ 45 INSERTS.
I went back and tried to return them, in original condition, without the box (because they kept it). They refused to take them back because I didn’t have the box. I said I wanted the box then, and they refused to give it to me. I’d like to know what I bought, how to use them, instructions, etc. but they wouldn’t give me the box to return the inserts, or to have so that I may know what I bought. TOTAL SCAM.
It isn’t about the money– meh $ 47 big deal. It is about the tricky business practice.
BOTTOM LINE– THEY WOULD RATHER MAKE A SALE THAN MAKE A CUSTOMER.
