Best bartender! Great service and good food. Half the experience of a meal is the service and ambience. They have a great bar and still family restaurant. I love the Texas style Rita’s on the rocks… at happy hour. Ask for JOSH the bartender. Tell him Tardevil sent you.

Favorite Mexican on the Island. Food is seasoned well & always yummy. Never had a bad experience with dive in or carry out here. Restaurant is loud do makes it more kid friendly. Taco salad is my favorite from here. Large crunchy shell filled to the top with food.

Great food great service as always. I tried the molcajete and it is amazing. We usually go with the margarita chicken, but I just had to try it after out waiter raved about it. We always bring our friends and family there when they come to the area.

This place has steadily gone downhill. The food used to be good, now it’s barely edible. I think they need to get new kitchen people.

I was surprised to find a 20 minute wait on a Tuesday, however it became clear that the inexpensive prices were really drawing a crowd. The food isn’t unique or largely portioned like other Mexican restaurants, but it was good and I was glad to receive ripe avocados with my vegetarian enchiladas verdes. I would say this place is pretty standard Mexican-American food.

Reminds me of a glorified Chili’s. Don’t expect real Mexican and really, just don’t have any high expectations for this place.

Perhaps the only time in my life that a taco was actually inedible. Soup was good. Salsa was OK. Seasoning on their meat was horrid. WAY too salty and overpowering. Worse still the waitress didn’t ask why I only took two bites.

we used to love going here for halfway decent Mexican food. Last night the service was horrible and the food was tasteless. We had our 4 year old son with us and waited 45 minutes for our meal. We had to ask the waiter when our food was coming. People who came in after us were served and left before we were. Ridiculous. Don’t think we’ll be going back

I enjoyed my dinner here at Jalapeños. The service was good. Our waiter wasn’t very chatty, but she was nice and the service was very fast. We got our food very quickly, and it was quite good. The burritos had a very good cheese on top of them that I loved, and the rice and beans were tasty as well. All in all, it was a good experience and I’ll be going back.

Beware of this place. I’m a local twice a week customer and tonight one of the busboys named Jimmy stole my Iphone. I did leave it on the able but realized when we drove off. In no more than 5 minutes my phone was gone-tracking gps turned off . management allowed my wife to view security cams and saw the waitress take my check the busboy moved in and cleared table most likely shoved my phone under some dishes and away he went. He claimed not to have it. Watch your phones and kids for that matter – they’ve hired a bunch of thieves there!!! non-swimmers of course! Sorry you won’t have our business again!

Food is ok, service was horrible… Bestie and I were purposefully ignored by our waitress, as we politely brought this to her attention she copped a major attitude and refused to wait on us for the remainder of the time… It’s was beyond rude, needless to sy despite its close proximity to mi casa I won’t be going back

I have been eating at this place for two years now. And the food is good and cheap. The service used to be fantastic, but now they have all these skinny white kids that don’t know what they are doing. I miss the old staff and wish they didn’t just disappear. Because frankly their replacements suck and make the whole experience awful now. Bring back the old staff! My rating is based on what I have known of this place in the past not what it is turning into. Maybe if we all complain things will get better because this was my favorite restaurant and I don’t want that to change!

We go to Jalapenos often, about once a month, but tonight was AWFUL. The food itself was fine, well cooked, good flavor, even if there was a little too much sauce on my enchilada. The service however was TERRIBLE. I know they were busy, but there was a ton of staff on hand, and our waiter sucked. He never introduced himself, so we only knew him as the skinny gay white boy. When my order came out, which didn’t take long, they had screwed it up and given me a tostada or something I would never order instead of the rice and beans my meal was supposed to come with. When I pointed this out to the waiter(who was not the person who brought us our food) he was very quick to say«Ugh, I swear they are doing this to me on purpose!» Just fix it, dude! He said he’d have my rice and beans out right away. Fifteen minutes later I’m waving him down like an air traffic controller, trying to get his attention, because my rice and beans still have not arrived and our drinks were totally empty. Of course, we’re eating spicy Mexican food, so we could really use some beverage! We waved and waved and waved at this guy for another 10 minutes before he finally came over. He was shocked that«they» had not brought me the rice and beans, as if it wasn’t his fault. He brought us our Cokes back 5 minutes later, which is an eternity, and the whole time we’d been sitting there not eating because we needed more to drink and were very thirsty. The whole thing was ridiculous and took way too long. The waiter said it was his first week, but dang, bro, get on it. He walked past us and even made eye contact with us probably 6 different times while we were flailing our arms at him, trying to get his attention. Needless to say, his tip sucked. It’s a wonder I bothered to pay the bill at all, because I was ready to just walk out of there. Next time I want something quick and easy, I’ll just go to our favorite Chinese take-out place. They might not speak English, but they always get our order right and it’s always ready in 10 – 15 minutes. :-P Jalapenos!

If you are truly looking for Mexican food… me thinks not. If you want generic americanize pseudo Mexican sure why not.

We are new to the area and heard some comments from the locals(good and bad). We decided to try this place, and what a huge mistake. My wife ordered the steak salad. Their idea of steak was some shreds of beef look-a-like that may have barely filled a teaspoon. I got a combo. I couldn’t even stomach the slop. Everything was soggy, cold and bland. I couldn’t tell where one combo item started and the other ended. The best description for the salsa was pureed tomatoes with way too much black pepper. My suggestion is to stay away, far far away from this place.
