So yummy!!! And the two guys there were just the nicest. Stopped in for the first time on my break from work, and they were quick and great at their suggestions. The guy, Don I think his name was, he convinced me to try the lemon cheesecake and I ended up having to get some because it was absolutely amazing! This salad although a little bit more expensive than a normal salad was huge. I wasn’t able to finish it and it filled me up perfectly. Again, they were so friendly and asked me lots of questions about myself. It was nice and I will definitely be back.

The food and customer service were incredible!!! I man met us at the door and all of the tables were taken so he gave us menus and offered conplentary coffee while we waited. Not long later a table opened up. The BBQ sand which was awesome & I don’t generally like coleslaw but this stuff was made with some kind of sorcery!!! Good job Joe!!!

My husband and I’s favorite local café in Savannah! Their food is so fresh! Although there’s not a lot of room to sit down and eat inside, it is our Favorite place to grab lunch to go and take to Forsyth Park. The staff there is such a pleasure as well!

This is the best soup, salad, sandwich place ever! My Greek salad was to die for. And wife kept saying how ridiculous her Silly Goose panini was. The pimento cheese that was on the panini was even better than her best friend and Mississippi chef’s specialty. Then she raved about the bread pudding and said it was better than her favorite bread pudding of all time that she had eaten at some fancy restaurant on Hilton Head in 1994. Don and Ted were amazing hosts! We will be driving back to Savannah soon, just to pay them a visit and eat their outrageously delicious food.

I used to come fromhere every day when I had a break from working my second job right before class and get the«roasted pork and cheese papi, «I think it was called, any ways if you’re looking for a good Jamaican style place I would definitely check out Joe’s, they have a great one right next door to them. My only quarrel is that I saw some of the workers«smoking cigarettes«at least that’s what they told me it was, even though it smelled like something slightly more illegal

Joe’s is a delight! The service is truly stellar and the food yummy. We had soup(corn chowder(try it!) and panini(very good) but the desserts stole the show! We tried 4 — and each one was worth having again. Little tip — there’s a great spot for a picnic not far from Joe’s at the Bonaventure Cemetery, right on the water. That’s where we took our lunch.

This review is for«CAFEJOZEF» which is right across the street from that other«famous» restaurant that a lot of people flock to Savannah to dine at. Believe me, this café will soon be equally as famous. This place is simply amazing! We decided to have lunch here right before we had to fly back home and we were all so sad to be leaving. Our spirits were immediately lifted upon walking into this place. We were greeted by a very friendly staff. The menu was not typical southern fare although upon dining, it is actually southern fare with a European twist. There were three of us and we all had something different(I cannot remember all the dishes). I had a tuna salad sandwich that was laced with curry and I ordered a side of grits. Best grits EVER!!! I am a southern girl and have eaten grits everywhere and these were extremely good. So good, in fact, that the cook came out and shared her secret for preparation. The sandwich was equally delicious. My two friends both gave the thumbs up on their meals as well. One of my friends ordered green, fried tomatoes to share and they were the best I have tasted anywhere. I even make delicious green fried tomatoes and I reluctantly admit that they put mine to shame. Don(one of the owners) came out and chatted with us and was just so welcoming and friendly. The place has a cute patio too. Loved the décor. We will definitely be eating here again on our next visit to Savannah. Look out Paula, there’s a new chef in town!

Be sure not to even try to present your GPB(Georgia Public Broadcasting) Member Card to this merchant, they are listed in the directory but they refused to accept it to the point of being very rude to my wife and friend. Shame on Joe and Don at Joe’s Homemade, shame indeed for not supporting GPB. #shameonjoeanddon

For a place that only sits about ten people, I am just astounded by the consistently great food they Joe’s offers. I’ve been about 6 times so far and my favorite is the Silly Goose followed up with the NY style cheesecake. I don’t hesitate to say that the desserts here help me reach a higher level of transcendence.

Amazing lunch in Savannah! Loved everything we tried. We asked the waitress what was best and ended up getting pulled pork, chicken salad over greens, soup(not sure of name, it was vegetables and chicken in broth), croissant pudding(like bread pudding). It was all so amazing! The chicken salad over greens came with the best zucchini bread I have ever tasted! Their homemade bread on the sandwiches and with the soup was so delicious! Loved every bit of our meal as well as the wonderful staff! They were so kind. Oh and can’t forget to mention the raspberry hibiscus tea was so awesome! Can’t wait to make another trip to Savannah!

This place was phenomenal. Cozy, comfortable, friendly, and inviting. Hands down the best bread pudding I have ever had!!! Their homemade pesto topped my panini perfectly. I highly recommend this place!

No Stars deserved. Wedding reception where prime rib was main dish with two small potatoes and green beans. Sure sounded delicious and it would have been if it was even remotely warm. Worst cold food and even the Co-Owner Don was making excuses about how the bride and groom were late so it’s not their fault. Proper Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance. Regardless the timing a good caterer can keep food warm. It was colder than the outside temperature on Tybee so it was refrigerated and never heated. Stop making excuses and own up that your application at McDonalds was denied! The web site identifies Don as a former professional Boy Scouter for 7 years. Fortunately my son was used his scout experience to heat his prime rib over the open flame of the table candles. Good thing I was not the customer as I would refuse to pay for the crappy food.

We shared a panini and tomato basil soup. This place was on recommendation of my sister in law who loves traditional southern food, which can be a bit heavy for me(I’m from San Fransisco, Ca — so I was skeptical. It was amazing. I loved every bite. We each ordered a dessert as well, and a 4th dessert of bread pudding which was melt in your mouth amazing. Like crème brûlée, french toast & bread pudding had a baby!!! The tomato basil soup was light and not heavy creamed and absolute perfection. We will be back!

Top shelf dining café here. Wait and chef staff were almost over the top waiting and checking on us. It is a very small space but perfect laid back feel for lunch, Beautiful bouquet of flowers on each table added a nice twist that I have not seen in many high end $$$$$ restraurants. Food had excellent flavor … lobster bisque has amazingly rich taste. Salmon was perfectly cooked. I had not finished my lobster bisque when the salmon was ready and I did not realize it so they tossed it and cooked me another entrée. Per the other patrons, the bread pudding was a piece of heaven. They are opening up a downtown location, but I am hoping they keep this one hopping as I hate going downtown. Location seems to show very far away and won’t let me check in while I was sitting in the restaurant, but I have put in a request to show correct location at crossroads of Waters and 71st.

Not a deli in the true sense, more like a bistro with desserts. The menu is small just like the establishment its self but the sandwiches and desserts are tasty!

Great little café off the beaten path in Savannah. The people are truly awesome and engage every customer with open arms. The menu is small but everything has been mastered by them. The bring the panini to the next level with their original combinations. Desserts are a must. The cheesecake is killer and will make you think you in NYC. This will be a regular stop going forward.

Man this place blows… I wanna be able to go and just hang out with Joe for one day and tell him why his place blows. Let’s run down a few basic things I noticed, get rid of the stupid desk things in the dining area stop making the employees wear stupid chef hats while refilling my water cup with an old plastic jug. You could also cut the fucking vegetables in your soup and serve food that actually had flavor or something maybe more meat on the Sammies. I kept hearing the familiar beeping of a microwave. How the fuck can you be called homemade in ya name while microwaving shitty soup and food Joe honestly Joe creeper ed me out

Joe’s Homemade has always been just a sign to me. I passed it every day for the first 8 months I lived here, driving to work in the wee hours of the morning. And yet, I never imagined that sign held such promise. Thank the food gods I was starving while driving down Waters today. I stopped in to get something to go on my way to get a pedicure. I suggest planning on eating elsewhere, as there is very limited seating, although the staff are amazingly friendly and accommodating! I finally settled on the Oglethorpe, turkey and Munster on what can only be described as a pillow of bread with the freshest tomato I’ve had all summer. The sandwich was so moist and tasty it didn’t even need the mayo that came on the side(bless you for watching my waistline, Joe’s). It came with grapes and delicious chips that I have got to find to buy for my snacking pleasure. I didn’t try dessert today, tho I was sorely tempted. And now, as I wait for my pedicure, I realize that 20 minutes have passed and I don’t even have my feet soaking… and I don’t care. My sandwich is that good. Ah, first world problems… so easily solved.
