After reading reviews, I thought this place was worth trying out. We just left and we were very disappointed. We had poor service and the food was nothing to come back for… In fact, the lump crab meat that came with my grouper was so overcooked that it felt like a rock. Before the food came out we were given silverware rolled in a dirty napkin. Needless to say, we complained. After complaining, were told«sorry, I didn’t make it» «do you want some more». Are you kidding? It was not taken off the check and I didn’t want to take away from our kid free Valentines dinner so we left. I am very disappointed with the customer service and quality of food. I don’t think that it deserves a 1⁄5 based on that.

As usual DH and I chose this restaurant based on Unilocal reviews and availability to get a table(this was out third choice). If you’re staying in downtown Savannah this place is FAR out of the area and cost us $ 50 in RT cab fare. As for the service, Kim was awesome and super attentive, but it took a minute to warm up… When we asked about specials she was a little gruff and said someone will drop off the list… sure enough someone did a fly by of our table and literally dropped a list off. DH had the praline crusted grouper with the lump crab and I had the special which was peppered ahi tuna with grits. I must admit, I liked DH’s more than mine. Thee grouper was seasoned perfectly and the lump crab was lump. The pepper on the ahi could have been toned down OR crushed a bit more, I felt like I had whole peppercorns on parts of it. It may have been better had the chef sliced the ahi in the kitchen rather than left it whole, I don’t know if that was an oversight or not because there was no steak knife presented with the meal. Now the grouper, was delicious! We also split a peach cobbler and that was too good, oh my goodness!

Pretty good local seafood restaurant for the price. I’ve taken my family to dine here twice now, and they love it! We’ve always been fortunate enough to have a window seat that overlooks the marsh area. The food is always superb! I only wish this restaurant was closer to me, and not on the other side of town :(

Last night we had another memorable dining experience at Pearl’s Saltwater Grille in Savannah. The wait staff was attentive and helpful and the food delicious. The catfish and shrimp were superb. We love to come back again and again. This is a local seafood gem.

Great food! We started with a crab cake appetizer. Perfectly cooked and great sauce! I had a Caesar and my husband had the wedge salad. Fresh, crispy and not too much dressing. For entrees I had the Parmesan grouper with lump crab and my husband had the stuffed flounder. We split them because both were so yummy. Cooked just right and the sauces were excellent! Awesome space! Right on the water in a residential area, so nice and quiet with a great view! Horrible service! We sat at the bar because there was quite a long wait. We found 2 seats at the bar(which was completely covered in dirty dishes). We sat there for no less than 10 minutes before the bartender noticed us. Still no one took the dishes away, we stacked them ourselves and flagged down a bus boy to take them. Finally got our drinks and were able to order. The appetizer and salads came out nicely timed, but our entrees were ½ hour behind that. We half jokingly asked the bartender if they had to go catch the fish! We’d go back, maybe wait for a table next time.

We were in the area so we stopped by for dinner on a Saturday night. We didn’t have reservations so we had a 30 – 40 minute wait. This went quickly as we went to the bar and enjoyed a bottle of wine(very very reasonably priced) the crab spinach dip and those delicious hushpuppies. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable. For our entrée we had the fillet and the parmessian crusted fish(don’t recall what fish) with the lump of crab meat and that was fantastic. Portion sizes are nice for the value. It was a wonderful experience and the atmosphere was great. Great stop when it’s raining out or you don’t want to worry about the downtown traffic.

decided to visit for our anniversary and am I glad we did — the experience was great — food was incredible… the wife had parmesan crusted grouper with lump crab meat and I had the mahi risotto and both were incredibly delicious(I’m still thinking about it a day later) — the hush puppies are great as everyone says and the two butter choices are fantastic — our server had lost her voice and also seemed to be off her game but everything else made up for it — our reservations put us at a window seat overlooking the water and the view was great overall this is a great place to experience a fine dining meal in a casual environment that is nowhere near as «stuffy» — i will be back to eat here again!

Pros: hush puppies and butter! Yummy Nice view of water Cons: slow service Ahi tuna was drowning in wasabi sauce. I would get it on the side in the future. Crab dip was very small with only 6 pita chips

Went here last night on recommendation from a tourist on the trolley who had been twice. Atmosphere– amazing! Food — fantastic! Location — off the beaten path but accommodated our large party of 14 with a smile without advanced reservations. Our waitress Kim was patient and provided great recommendations. Tuna bites were tasty, chef selection was amazing. Shrimp three ways were great, collards and oyster special was great! Only complaint we had was we were too full for dessert. Oh yeah and top shelf margaritas were a hit!

Great food and amazing views. I got the crusted grouper and crab with orzo and asparagus. The crab was fresh and the grouper was cooked well and very tasty. My husband got the baked linguini dish with seafood. He was also pleased. They also had a solid kids menu. The atmosphere was nice, more upscale than anything on the island but not stuffy. The view of the marsh was beautiful. There’s a dock of the back where my husband and kid looked for crabs and enjoyed the view before dinner. The dessert menu sounded great, but we were stuffed. The prices were also affordable $ 75 for 3 dinners, 2 glasses of wine and a mixed drink(before tip).

This place used to be great, at one time they had great food and great service. Know they have a host staff that immediately wants to know if you made a reservation, do they think that that makes them sound fancy? One of the girls snatched a wet floor sign away from our children who were attempting to stand it back up, she told them to stop touching it. She then proceeded to talk down to me about why my child should be in a high chair. Then she brought us a sling for our youngest in her carrier, I told her it was not necessary, she then proceeded to talk slowly to me as if I did not know how to use it. As if that wasn’t enough she heads back up to the host station and starts complaining to the guy with a pony tail while she points at our table. She even saw me watching and still kept complaining. With a good new host staff and some work in the kitchen this place could be great again. Food was okay, shrimp were definitely not wild Georgia shrimp.

Was here a two days ago and forgot to post. Came here with two of my best friends for dinner in Savannah before I left. I got the Parmesan grouper which was amazing. It was firm texture but not over cooked and the spinach orzo while simple had a lot of flavor and garlic. Didn’t quite understand the lump crab but that dipped in the sauce was good too. At first the food took a little long for three entrees but the bartender was attentive, made good drinks and always made sure our glasses were full. He was super helpful and friendly. All in all great food, great service, and friendly environment.

This place is awesome! Seafood at its best! The presentation of the food was top notch and the taste matched! The view of the lake was breathtaking! They have delicious cocktails and martinis as well as quality wine and beers. My boyfriend had the tilapia imperial and it was delicious! I had parmesan crusted pan seared salmon with mashed potatoes and broccoli, it was tasteful and extremely delicious as well! Oh let’s not forget the complimentary bread and hush puppies they serve prior to the entrees! Those hush puppies was amazing! We also had the ouster florentine as our appetizer they were delicious as well! Everything was good! The only negative was that we had to wait one hour bcas we didn’t make reservations but it was worth the wait. We traveled from out of town so the wait wasn’t as bad we just wanted to have great authentic seafood and Pearl’s was the right spot for that! We found it off Unilocal!Neither me nor my bf captured any pictures this time because we just wanted to enjoy the experience! The ambience and the server was perfect! Our server was super friendly and extremely conversational. He talked about my birth year 84 being the best year for him bcas he joined a band and partied lol yea it was hilarious! But we definitely enjoyed the experience and especially the food! We just finished the leftovers this morning! They give you a great portion for the money! Well worth it! Great date night or family night out! Go check them out!

What are you waiting for? Go eat here! This is our first trip to Savannah and all we wanted was a delicious seafood meal. I was set on shrimp & grits for breakfast but when I called B Matthews for a reservation they were rude on the phone and quickly said they were full. Sure, it’s Memorial Day weekend but where’s the Southern hospitality? It’s ALL at Pearl’s! So we chose dinner over breakfast. We arrived around 6 and were told the wait was 45 – 60 minutes. We were at the bar for 10 minutes when our table was called. We didn’t realize hush puppies come with every meal so ordered the crab & spinach dip. It arrived swiftly and was hot and delicious! We still sampled the hush puppies which were equally tasty. I’d also ordered a St. Germain cocktail and it was so good I ordered another one! Excellent drink selection all around. I ordered the Parmesan Grouper and my husband ordered the Crab Stuffed Flounder. Amazing!!! We’ve traveled to the Outer Banks 4 times and enjoyed seafood there but this was easily the best seafood dinner we’d ever had. The staff was friendly and cordial. The atmosphere was casual with an average noise level. There were some stray, young children wandering around but that’s on the lazy parents, not the restaurant. The view from our table was relaxing and we sincerely enjoyed our food and the time we spent here. I would highly recommend coming here!

Haven’t been here in years but Pearl’s will definitely be on our radar again after today’s meal! We forgot what a beautiful view they have here too, so great view, food, and service are all a winning combo. We will be back soon!

Ended up here because we were a large group and they were willing to accommodate us(though we had to split into 3 tables, and granted we were like 30 people). Portion sizes were just OK. Had the blackened grouper and I was expecting a bit more for the price. Taste wise it was good but not amazing. Some others in the group had the grouper on my recommendation in a different style and seemed to think it was just OK also. So yeah… that was kind of a letdown. Service was decent and I’m sure the view on the water is nice when it’s light out(we got there after dark).

After a horrible dining experience at River House(on River Street) in Savannah, we searched Unilocal reviews and found this gem. Firstly, it sucks getting to since there is construction right in front of it. Follow the stour signs and you will be fine. This place is not highly rated since tourists in Savannah probably don’t want to drive this far off the island(15 min). TRUST me, its worth it. The outside of the place is very nice(all wood). The parking is ample. The view is spectacular and with the way the inside is set up with the windows, it makes the lighting in this place gorgeous. MAKESURETOGET A WINDOWSEAT. The hushpuppies are divine. They are sweet and not normal. They are more like donuts. They are served with honey butter — don’t not use this on it! The bread is also good and comes with a very good herb butter, but the hushpuppies are so much better that you will probably ignore it. I had the filet mignon = was cooked perfectly. The potatoes that came with it were covered in a sauce, so much so that I could only taste balsamic vinegar. This was the only downfall I saw. My dad had the maui sandwich to try to make up for River House and it was excellent. The bread was great and the fish was fresh. My mother did not care for the crab cheese bread appetizer — it had a funny smell. This was the only thing that was bad here. The waitstaff was beyond excellent. They were very professional, had a great sense of humor, and did nothing wrong! Apple cobbler was good! Key lime pie was excellent. If you want a great dining experience in Savannah, please come here.
