The Savannah Music Festival is a reason to come to Savannah in late March and early April. Yes it is the best time to be in Savannah anyway. All of the squares are in bloom and the weather is generally perfect — warm but not the heat of summer. But the Savannah Music Festival offers jazz, blues, bluegrass, acoustic, pop-rock, world and classical music in many wonderful venues around town. This coming April 3rd, we will be attending the Dover Quartet featuring a commissioned work«The Sun Was Chasing Venus,» by British composer Charlotte Bray at 11 am, then a concert of Irish and Scottish music at 6 pm and wrapping up the day with the blues master Robert Cray. Where else can you have that variety and outstanding quality of music in one of the most beautiful cities in America. There are 17 days of equally exciting musical offerings each year.
