This was a pretty sad place for lunch. Much too pricey for the stale salad bowl, sticky tables and poor service we received.

Parmesan sub and meatball sub were right on. They brought water and scraps for my great Dane. My spot in Savannah.

We sat outside and it smelled like hot garbage. Our waiter was nice but the guy running the food was filthy and unprofessional. The pizza was disgusting and even the wine was bad. They were so slow that one table of 5 people got up and left. We also saw at least 5 sets of customers go into the restaurant and turn right back around to leave. I wish we would’ve done the same.

The food hear was enjoyable. My shrimp and grits was well seasoned. My wife had the sausage and peppers plate which, while simple, was also tasty. My mother in law enjoyed her seafood sampler as well, which boasted fisf, shrimp and a sizeable crabcake. The service could have been a little better and the menus cleaned once a decade or so. It was also strange for a restaurant to send patrons next door for the restrooms. For those reasons, I cannot give this delectable establishment five stars.

Best place to eat for the price, food was better then some five stars places we ate at and the prices are really good. I. Think with prices as low as the are some people would not think it that good, well your wrong. I would say that any bad reviews are either people who complain about anything or might have a bad server, If you don’t eat at least 1 meal while in Savannah you are eating at all the wrong place

Some friends and I visited Savannah to see some of the touristy spots. We were in the City Market area around lunchtime and decided to try Anna’s. Had no issues with getting seated or being waited on. I ordered a sausage penne dish, one friend had the bayou chicken, and another the shrimp and grits. The portions were very generous. I was pretty hungry, but I came away very full. I tried my friend’s bayou chicken and it was awesome. The other friend seemed to approve of his dish, as well. The prices were also very reasonable. The decorations were kind of quirky(old pictures of people, a hockey stick, and a cuckoo clock among them), and the inside restaurant area was pretty small, but everything else was great. My experience was unlike a lot of other Unilocalers’, and if I were in the area again, I’d probably return.

Terrible — plain and simple. This is just barely a step above carnival food. Great location, too bad the food sucks.

I had the Veggie omelet. More like a scramble with veggies, but still good! The veggies were sautéed nicely &the mushrooms were halved instead of sliced, so I definitely enjoyed that. My friend had the pancakes, which were fluffy &cinnamon-y tasting. She couldn’t finish them all! It was a nice day so we sat outside &the waitstaff was extremely nice.

I travel for work and love to try local fare. I stopped into Anna’s and glad I did. There are only 9 tables inside with at least that many out on the heated patio. I chose inside. Lots of neat stuff on the walls and Sinatra era music playing. I opted for beef tenderloin and sautéed veggies. The beef was really tender and a big portion. The Bernaise sauce made it. The veggies were great. I could not finish all and the bread was to die for. Was it the best I have ever had, no, but it was really good and the service matched. I would definitely go back.

If it’s your first time to Savannah I wouldn’t say run to this place. When we had no other food options and had to stick around the City Market area we couldn’t find anything else that had decent prices with no wait time. We must have been lucky as it seems other Unilocalers had waited a while, but we also went around 2pm on a Saturday. It was nice to sit outside in the sun and watch all the commotion of the market and people-watch. The food was just ok… I didn’t see any tapas on the menu though??? I ordered a grilled fish sandwich which was pretty good but my husband ordered crab cakes and those were just GROSS. They were soggy fried and stuck to the bottom of the plate. It was like someone took leftovers and threw them in the microwave. We got a cannoli for dessert and that seemed a little stale and leftover. It’s a good option if you have nothing else in the area as the ambiance and service was pretty friendly. But just don’t order the crab cakes!

I don’t know why they reference tapas, this is an italian place. dropped in to get a chicken parm sub to go. folks weren’t overly friendly, but we were seen to quickly. another member asked us if we’d been helped when he saw we were just hanging around. food was good.

I had the unfortunate chance of eating here while passing through Savannah. As with the other reviewers we had to wait an inordinate amount of time before even seeing our server after being seated. Once our order was placed we saw the waitress two more times. Once to bring our food out and another to give us our check. No one stopped to see how the food was, refill drinks, etc… The food was ok but not great. Soooo many better choice in Savannah, which is a shame because this one does have a good location with some nice outdoor seating… If only they service and foor were actually good.

I wouldn’t say to avoid this place, but it’s not the best food to represent Savannah, or were the prices all that reasonable for their portions. Great location in City Market, outdoor patio so you can dine and hear the live music in the square. I just don’t think anything was all that memorable.

It can be a little tricky to find an inexpensive dinner spot in the Savannah area. After walking around all day we saw the lunch prices on an item like shrimp and grits go from $ 14.99 for lunch up to $ 29.99 for dinner. yikes. We weren’t looking for anything to fancy and walked by Annas a few times before stopping in. The menu was posted outside and their prices looked very reasonable. This restaurant is located in city market and they have an outdoor seating area and a small indoor area. We opted for the indoor area for a little respite from the wind. The décor is awful — I’ll just throw that out there. It’s crowded, complicated, and confused. This restaurant has no identity. After we were seated my husband pulled up the reviews on Unilocal…2 stars? uh-oh. To our surprise, service was prompt and attentive. My grouper sandwich was simply tasty and cooked perfectly, and my husbands shrimp and grits was pure comfort food. We were pleasantly surprised by the food and relieved at the reasonable bill.

like some other reviews, i didn’t really notice any tapas. but i thought this place was just called Anna’s. we had been walking all day in savannah, and weren’t that hungry, but i was damned to get some shrimp and grits before leaving my home state and i wasn’t paying upwards of 15 bucks at some of the other restaurants. we were seated immediately and our server took our drink order within 2 minutes. another(about) 8 minutes later and i was digging into my dish. it was salty(like i like it), cheesy(like i like it) and had some well-cooked, whole, tail-on shrimp in. i do have to say the grits were lumpy… i had 2 huge lumps in mine, but honestly, the overall flavor of the dish usurped that drawback. my wife had the grouper sandwich which was just as tasty. this place was a great find with an even greater savings on the wallet. their menu is pretty extensive for seafood dishes, and they offer a small patio seating area. my dish was 10.50, my wife’s roughly 9.50.

There should be a new rating… no stars The only reason to even give this place one star is to warn everyone. Inspectors rating is a 70, yes that’s right a 70… and just try to find that rating. t is on the wall next to the kitchen at the back of the inside of the restaurant that is guarded by what looks like the remnants of the Savannah mob. This was the most overt attempt to hide a bad score and a nasty restaurant I have ever seen. The floors were dirty and I didn’t even ask to look at the kitchen. When explaining the poor rating the server sitting on a stool near the same dirty floors blamed the rating on a disagreement between the restaurant and the food inspector. So instead of cleaning the obvious dirty floors, the server wanted to make ridiculous excuses. When the menus look like they haven’t been washed in eons you can just guess what the kitchen looks like. I was afraid to drink the tea that they brought me. Avoid like the plague.

2 things redeemed this place, so ill tout them first then say the bad stuff… The server, young white hippie kid(no, really! we talked about Phish and GD lol) was funny, friendly and full of helpful suggestions.(Its thanks to him i got to review Huc A Poo’s!) And, the fact they were dog friendly(even brought our pups out a bowl of ice water :) —to those judging, my dogs always have water, i keep a collapsable bowl and water bottles in my back pack(i.e. doggy diaper bag) to ensure they hydrate every time we stop, i just like to give kudos to places that bring out water buckets for dogs of their own accord– The things that i didnt appreciate were all the other servers/managers who literally answered me with«are we pet friendly… psh…i dunno!»…“ask her”…and my favorite…“yeah its outdoors!”(complete w/hand flip) trust me, had vinnie van gogo’s been open for lunch she wouldve gotten a finger flip all her own. When a girl came toward us with our drinks(mind you we’ve already been waiting in the sweltering outdoor savannah heat, w/no menus, for 10 minutes, did i mention this is on a wednesday afternoon?) she was asked a question by an incoming guest, instead of putting our drinks on the table she turns in a fluster and goes to retrieve the guests answer. It was another 5 minutes before those drinks found their way to us. And, My burger was well done, which is always funny when you order medium rare… besides all that, the food itself was delicious. And very well priced. though it was overcooked, it was juicy and tender eniugh for me to really enjoy! And my boyfriends cajun shrimp dish was enough to take back and eat later.

Where are the tapas? Where is the restroom? Why can’t you turn on the heat lamps? Kitchen is backed up, food will be out when? Lame. Negatives aside, the hostess and waiter were friendly and attentive. The local draft beer was probably the best thing we had, and that wasn’t made there. Food was slow to come out and when it did… The She-crab soup was way too sweet. The crabcakes were heavy, overly browned, and had an unpalatable flavor. Perhaps some old roe fell into the mixing bowl or a not too tasty blend of secret herbs? Could not pinpoint the culprit, but it made the cakes inedible. Aside from the aforementioned brew, the seafood platter was okay. Not greasy, not overcooked, and all three items(fish, scallops, and shrimp) were rather tasty. However, the platter could not save the dining experience. Too many other fine establishments to waste a meal here.

I really had high hopes for the place. It looked so charming amongst the other places on the City Market strip. I first went there with some friends on a Friday evening. All of the outside tables were taken, so we were cool with sitting inside. I just wish someone had told our server we were there because after close to 10 minutes, no one approached us at all. Which was a shame because a few items on the menu had caught my eye. Oh well… off we went. So, still having visions of Crab Ravioli in my head, I came back 2 days later in the afternoon. I was once again seated inside and this time my server notice me. Yay! She was very friendly and polite, even when she brought me the wrong food. No worries, though. She quickly put the right order in but there was quite a bit of a wait for it to come out. Now, I’d been dreaming about this Crab Ravioli for a couple of days, so to say I was sitting on the edge of my seat in anticipation would be an understatement. When I finally(finally!) got my food, what was on my plate was the exact opposite of what I had pictured in my mind. It looked like… well, let’s just say it wasn’t exactly appealing. It was basically a whole bunch of semi-soupy crab meat, covered in cheese with a few pieces of ravioli mixed around it. Which, technically, is crab ravioli, but hmm… Being a somewhat brave person, I soldiered on and to my surprise, it wasn’t completely horrible. But, it wasn’t all I had hoped it to be(then again, what is?) While I was waiting for my food, I did witness a couple of ladies being moved from their table because a larger party showed up, which I’m sure is fine, but still somehow seemed rude. But in the end, the ladies ended up leaving because of the bathroom situation — you have to walk out into the shopping area and up some stairs and down some hall. Not exactly convenient. Having had enough of it all, I tried to pay my check, but my server seemed to have disappeared. Another server noticed after a bit and took care of it for me. Overall, well, the place has potential… but that’s about it.

«Solid 3. Decent. Wasn’t bad, quality. Not bad. 3 and a half stars from one person. Service was a mediocre rushed considerate. Plastic plateware. 15 buck pitcher of 90 min was alright.» my notes from the table from an under the influence night via iPhone Looking back, i didn’t think the crab ravioli was all that great really. We ended up here based on the fact we were starving and the pizza place had like an hour wait. While at the time, we called it a 3 star, based on everywhere else we ate that weekend, i would go to the other places again before this place. Enjoyed the outdoor seating and i don’t recall the service being horrendous for us. The hostess was nice enough and convinced us to eat here actually and the server was good enough. Overall, like a 2 and ½ star. Not overly impressive, but serviceable.
