Delicious is what can be said about the food that comes from this restaurant that is rich with history. Converted from a southern mansion that is said to be haunted. Rooms have been restored and renovated to give tithe feel that you are stepping into the past. Staff are well versed on the history of the house and«secrets» it contains. There is also a cool bar that is nestled in the cellar of the home. Great place that is on the must do list.

I’m docking a star because the wait was too long. We were 15 minutes past our reservation time and I had to go back to the hostess stand to remind them we were here. Everything else went fine, as our pork dishes were very good. Portions are huge, so come hungry.

Savannah… SAVANNAH! You have truly shown what fine dining in the«Olde South» is all about. Exceptional service, beautiful antique décor, & award winning food! Service: The staff here really goes above & beyond. This tourist phenom & local favorite gets booked very quickly so we weren’t able to get the time slot we initially wanted. The hostesses went out of their way to move our reservation time back & everything worked out perfectly! They escorted us to the upstairs dining area which was beautiful. The servers literally anticipate your needs. You rarely have to ask for anything. They’re usually two steps ahead! FOOD: Let’s get to the good part! I’m a major Foodie so I already knew what I wanted to order lol. I’d been eying this menu all week. Our server greeted us promptly & we ordered a few drinks. No signature drinks. Just wine & whiskey. We were ready to get our food orders going! Once he returned we ordered the BLT Salad & shrimp ‘n grits cake app. Y’all… y’all…that BLT salad is IT!!! I’m serious. Everything in it was on point. I could eat that bacon all day. My only problem was the portion was too small. Uuugh. Give. Me. More. The shrimp ‘n grits cake app was just OK to me. My date thought it was wonderful. Now its time for the main course. We ordered the filet(medium) with asparagus & twiced baked potato… The pork shank with Collards & buttermilk whipped potatoes. Listen folks, thats one of the best filets I’ve ever had! Tender & actually flavorful. Some places don’t believe in seasoning their filets. Not here! This is what good southern eating is all about. We want the flavor! … even if it is a «fancy» filet. My pork shank was just as good if not better. The meat was literally falling off the freaking bone. It was so tender & delicious I could cry. The sides were very good as well. I’m a true southern gal & those collards are legit! The only thing that wasn’t the best was the twiced baked potato. It was waaaay too salty so we exchanged it for more collards. Yum. Whew, we were so full & satisfied we had to get a few to go boxes. This place is awesome & really worth the hype. The ultimate southern dining experience. You have to try it out… happy Unilocaling folks.

I feel like this gets more stars for what it represents versus the food itself. You’re dinning in a restaurant that was a mansion over 100 years ago, looking at a fire place and a mantel piece older than your grandparents in this picturesque city(if you sit in one of the two main rooms). That in itself makes your heart warm, your standing in a moment of American history. Oh if these walls could talk what stories would they relinquish, what secrets do they hold. So that experience makes it worth it to me. As for the culinary experience I was left disappointed. For starters I had the lobster bisque which was a special for the night. I love lobster bisque and when I go to 5 star 3 $$$ sign restaurants I’m thinking it must be amazing here. Well I thought wrong, it was basically tomatoe soup(great in taste though) with a small toast hosting a few chunks of lobster in the middle of the bowl. No lobster chunks in the soup itself, nothing to say the least spectacular, I’ve had better from Publix. For Entrée I had the Fried Chicken. I have to say it was juicy and crunchy but not too flavorful. The mashed potatoe was amazing. I’ll give them that, and the mac and cheese was creamy and pretty good too. The best thing I had though was the bread, the Corn bread melts in your mouth and the biscuit was warm and delicious. I spent $ 60 for subpar fried chicken, tomatoe soup with a few lobster chunks, and some really good mashed potatoes at the oldest standing mansion, turned restaurant in Savannah. Would I come again, no, do I recommend the experience, yes.

Fried chicken is the best I have ever had! Service was superb. Really cool house with rich history. Try the fried green tomatoes and the goat cheese fritters-super yum! Lunch menu is a little different than the dinner but everything I have ever had is super delicious.

Was very impressed. Went here last night for my 21st birthday and it was perfect. Had the pork shank with pineapple glaze. My husband had the crab stuffed snapper(special of the night) and he loved it, to say the least. The portions were great size(I was full after a few bites). The muffins and rolls were delish. We ordered the Mac and cheese jalepeno poppers and were not really impressed with them, although they were yummy. Just expecting cheesier-spicier poppers. I had the pink lady cocktail and have to say: ITIS A MUST. So good! My husband even loved it. He had a gin and tonic — double shot — and felt he was finally not ripped off. The house singer sang me «Happy Birthday» and it was beautiful. Overall, it was a truly amazing experience and I recommend 100%. The mansion is gorgeous and I was blown away. Worth it! Edit: we ate the food right away, so sorry for lack of food photos! Next time, I’ll actually take some!

What’s more impressive: the fact that America’s Founding Fathers likely drafted the Declaration of Independence in the basement, or The Olde Pink House’s immaculate otherworldly fried chicken? Well, my gluttonous self votes for #teamfriedchicken, because I’m not convinced a better one exists. Seriously, though, a recent meal at The Olde Pink House served as the most memorable one during our first ever trip to Savannah. Did I mention their fried chicken? If not, fried chicken, fried chicken, andddddd fried chicken. ***** I. FOOD&DRINK Their gigantic two-page menu is generally broken down into five categories: Pink House Platters, Appetizers, Soups & Salads, Entrees, and Sides. The first category mainly caters to large groups three or more(items range from $ 25-$ 125). The other categories explain themselves, and I think all the portions for each item were generous in size. What we had: *Blackened Oysters: Come on a half shell with watermelon relish, pear, and apricot chutney as well as a green tomato chow chow. Sizzled on a cast iron, each delectable has a great charred flavor(obviously), without being overcooked.(The oysters are, for the most part, raw.) The toppings make this appetizer whimsical, and it’s a different take on oysters than I’ve had in the past. However, although great, I wouldn’t necessarily get it again. Definitely a safe choice, though. *Shecrab Soup: Very creamy and decadent, but they skimp a bit on the crab. **Jumbo Sea Scallops: cooked with herb butter, mash potatoes, and three types of beans. This incredibly hearty and savory dish will satisfy anyone hankering for some seafood. I, personally, wouldn’t order this again, because they have so many other amazing eats on their menu, but it’s a solid choice. **Chef’s Fried Chicken: Atheists, did you know that there is a God? Because this fried chicken is the truth. The skin is crispy, with the right amount of oil, and just enough breading — simply profound. As for the meat, it’s THEMOSTSUCCULENTCHICKENFLESH I’VEEVEREATENINMYLIFEAKA juicier than a booty that’s toned with a million squats a day. Put this in your mouth. It also comes with a delicious side of… ***Mac & Cheese: comes with breading and a generous serving of cheddar cheese. Delicious and pairs incredibly well with the best chicken ever made. ***Collard Greens: Fleshy noms cooked in pork fat. — yes. For drink, I had a sweet tea, vodka concoction and got royally ****** up. And as expected for a high-end restaurant, they have a robust list of wines and local beer to pair. II. SERVICE Ugh, I forget her name, but she totally killed it and even took the time to provide an extensive history of The Olde Pink House. For what it’s worth, though, we went during a weekday night. They weren’t slammed, they were fairly busy and I didn’t think the service suffered. III. AMBIENCE/DÉCOR The Olde Pink House, by far, serves as the coolest venue I’ve ever eaten at. More about it, they entire house — I believe — can accommodate up to 400 people. Occasionally, it’s rented out for large events. But they could host a wedding reception at the top alone. It’s that big! It’s several hundred years old, ghosts haunt every room, and the basement — with its massive wooden bar, drunk piano player, and colonial decorations — feel like something out of a movie. There’s even a private wine cellar that serves as a private dining room. All in all, this entire place is magical. And Martin Scorsese, if you’re reading this Savannah institution has potential for a interesting murder mystery. Oh, and if you’re wondering why is the house pink, supposedly it’s because it’s white paint over red brick, and over the years the paint wore off. IV. PRICES Steep, but I think it’s worth it especially when considering the quality(and quantity) of food and exceptional service. V. OVERALL Whenever I return to Savannah, even though I love trying new places, I feel like I need to return to The Olde Pink House. Truly an amazing experience. And I want a bathtub’s-worth of their fried chicken. Seriously.

My wife and I along with some friends decided to eat here last Saturday night. It was to be the pinnacle of a wonderful weekend in Savannah. It turned out to be a bust. The environment? HOT! Not hot in the metaphorical sense. Hot in the«Oh my God I can’t wait to get outside so I can breathe!» sense. It felt like some old person’s home where the heat is set so high that you feel like you’re going to pass out. I finally convinced the staff to turn off the fireplace in the room and I immediately felt better. Shortly afterward, I unwittingly sucked a big shard of broken glass up into my straw and mouth while sampling a «Planter’s Punch». It really scared me. I was unscathed and caught it before I swallowed it. I shuddered to think of what would have happened had I actually ingested that glass. Not what I would expect from such an expensive restaurant. My friend, who recommended the restaurant, was totally embarrassed. I would have made more of a fuss but I didn’t want to make him feel any worse than he did. The staff was apologetic when I quietly brought it to their attention. The manager came back and told me that they had broken a glass in the bar and that the bartender had been sent home because he failed to immediately drain the ice in the tubs under the bar. The check for my wife and I came out without my meal on it. I assumed that they comp’d my meal because of the glass incident. Then the waitress came back and stated they caught a mistake on my ticket. There was my meal. Full boat. No free dessert. No free drink. No discounted meal. Nothing. Nada. Zip! Sucking a big sharp piece of glass into my mouth isn’t my idea of a good time. I won’t be back.

Wow! What an experience! Such a wonderful meal, amazing service and the mansion is so full of history! Service was great, our waitress was friendly, told us about the history of the mansion, suggested a few of their signature cocktails for us and was super knowledgable about the menu. She recommended great dishes for me(I was super indecisive that night!). Everything about my meal was top notch. We explored the house after our meal and wow! The Victorian style dining rooms were elegant and beautiful, the tavern downstairs was so cool! It was like a night and day difference in atmosphere! I know where the next reservation is for! Highly recommended for a date night and to bring people who are visiting Savannah. It’s one of the most famous attractions in Savannah for a reason!

Formal and elegant in this stately mansion, awesome food for a price. Friendly and somewhat casual service… this is a great place to bring visitors. I had the deep fried pork chop, with collards and mac n cheese –large portion– and it did not disappoint. Next time I go I’ll hang out in the basement tavern, it may be more my style than the Victorian(gorgeous!!) dining room thing. Great for a special occasion.

We had our wedding dinner in the private wine room. The service was great from beginning to end! I had my first soft shell crab here, and I just couldn’t get over the fact that I could«eat all of it». Eating dungeoness all my life, I was so used to a little pain with my sweet crab meat. The wine list is extensive. Both of our meals were fantastic. This is for sure a more special occasion place, however appetizers and drinks while listening to live music shouldn’t be to hard on your wallet. The downside to dining in the«private» wine room, is that every ten minutes or so, a few people pop in to take a peak at the room and snap a photo.

The restaurant definitely has a very historic and cozy environment. The real wood-burning fireplaces and art we’re pretty nice. I thought the food was good, but not over-the-top great. I ordered the fillet and thought it was very good. My wife ordered the fried chicken and it was the best I’ve ever had. The seasoning on the breading was amazing. I thought the sides fell a little bit short. I had the twice baked potato, and my wife had the macaroni and cheese. I thought both were a little bland. our waitress was not very attentive and that always slightly dampens a restaurant. Still overall I think it is a very historic restaurant that is worth checking out.

Located in an elegant old pink mansion, The Olde Pink House Restaurant is a popular attraction. I tried the Low Country She Crab Soup which was quite different from the version I fondly remember eating in Charleston. For the entrée, I debated between the fried pork chop and the crispy half roast duck. I ended up with the duck which had a black vinegar BBQ glaze, a fruit salad with lettuce and strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries, and vegetable crepes. The duck was very meaty and plentiful with a great crispy skin. I only could eat a small portion of one piece of the duck. I’ve never eaten a duck with so much thick meat! Ivette was so attentive, kind, helpful, polite, and accommodating. Excellent service.

Stay away! Not sure what happened to this place, but could not have been worse end to end. Maybe benefit of doubt because of holiday season and jammed kitchen, but I think it is systemic. Seating. Tables are so close we could share food with our neighbors almost. Also, our table listed to port and every time someone walked by it sagged more as the nearby floor boards were loose. Cocktails. Simple awful. If you want all ice and no taste of liquor, try one of the bourbon ones. My old fashion was wet wet wet! Wine. Out of first choice. Brought wrong bottle for second, not sure if they were up selling me or honest mistake. Final one, ok, nothing great and not cheap. Food. I had the floundering flounder. Dry, dry, dry. Other fish, grouper was average. Mushroom to start was ok. Service. Table next to us, appetizer was cold instead of hot. They remade, as they should, but they were in such a rush to turn the table that they brought the new one and double stacked it with their salad, leaving the 2 courses at once. While we were there some tables got up and left as service and food was so bad. Bottom line… Awful… Until something changes, stay away.

A bitter disappointment. The quintessential tourist trap dressed up in all the quaint, historical finery that only Savannah could offer. We barely made our 8pm dinner reservation and had to elbow our way through the gaggle of tourist wishing to take their photographs on the steps of the Olde Pink House dressed in it’s Christmas décor. Once ushered through the doors into the cramped front foyer one could not help but notice the noise level emanating from the 2 small over dressed dining rooms… and while we’re on the subject of over dressed, their website purported their dress code to be «Dressy» while half of their diners thought this to mean wearing their best flip flops with their board shorts and a semi damp pool shift over a wet 2 piece… I immediately hung my blazer over the back of my chair and rolled up my sleeves. Service is quick if a bit hurried as turning tables is seemingly a priority {2 tops were turning every 90 minutes} Wine list is good but about 15% above trade and pours are barely 4 ounces which bring me to my drink order… single shot JD with a decent IPA…“Ahhhh JD… Jack Daniels young lady” which barely dampened the bottom of a too large high ball glass… so short pours are the order of the day at the” Olde Pink House” but at a premium. On to the Menu… Appetizers of a crab cake sandwiched between fried green tomatoes over a under dressed, sandy arugula salad held nothing special and quite frankly was rather embarrassing in it’s lack of taste and imagination. Seared scallops was at the very least fresh and juicy and the spinach not over cooked… good not great. Entrees… No crispy duck at 8pm on a Sunday so… Bourbon molasses grilled pork tenderloin. Asked for pink in the middle and received just about done, 4 medallions over a very tasty collards with some ham bits thrown in, a too sweet and one dimensional molasses glaze, a very nice baked sweet potato. Crispy scored flounder Comes to the table with detailed instructions on how to eat… Really? overcooked and mushy with a too sweet glaze/sauce that resembled a Asian seafood sauce from a bottle. At this point we were all about cutting our losses and ended our dinner while the getting was good… Conclusion. At these menu prices I expected to be wowed but none of our dishes so much as registered, they were all ably prepared mind you but nothing stood out, nothing shined and we felt cheated of not only our night but our perception of Southern Cuisine. I am reminded of my first meal at Red Rooster in NYC’s Harlem simply because it hit all my expectations of food of the South which sadly The Olde Pink House failed miserably to do. We really wanted to like The Olde Pink House and as we left we heard live music and what could only be a cool dinner and drinks in the basement of this establishment which only begs the question. ” Is the main floor of The Olde Pink House regulated to the gullible and unwashed masses while other floors reserved for Savannah’s elite?”… Damn I hope so or else I can’t begin to explain all the accolades this restaurant has garnered on Unilocal. PS: I have a habit of counting the not recommended reviews to gauge just how many diners would take the time and effort to join Unilocal to pan a restaurant… I believe it quite telling that there were over 200 diners so disappointed in The olde pink house that they went through the whole process in order to voice their views.

This place is a must when visiting Savannah. We started with the Mac and Cheese jalapeño poppers and the buffalo shrimp and they were delicious! For our meal I had the shrimp and grits, which was honestly the best shrimp and grits I’ve ever had. My husband had the fried chicken and baked mac and cheese which was also great. The food is fantastic and the restaurant is beautiful, and the service is great.

This place came highly recommended by many, many people and we really enjoyed it. It’s décor was so warm and romantic. It was such a beautiful setting. We ate downstairs. We split a salad which was yummy. I got the scallops, shrimp with pasta. It was great. Of course, I wish there was more seafood, but that’s the way it goes. Yes its definitely pricey, but a good place to try if you are in Savannah for a short period of time

What could be more charming than sitting down for a weekend lunch in a pink, 16,000 square foot Georgian mansion that was built in the 1700s? The Olde Pink House serves perfectly executed southern fare. Just before noon, several friends and I settled in to a small table with white linen clothes. As we reviews the lunch menu, everything looked good. Fried chicken done a couple of ways, fried quail, fried shrimp, fried green tomatoes… I think you get the point. Having heard about the«BLT» salad with fried green tomatoes, brown sugar bacon, and black thyme buttermilk dressing, I decided to try it. To say that it was different from most BLT salads, would be an understatement. The fried green tomatoes were well breaded and the bacon was sweet, just the way I like it. I can see why it was on the food network’s show«Best Thing I Ever Ate». The side of macaroni and cheese, the collard greens, and the country fried chicken with black vidalia gravy were excellent as well. The portions were small, which is unusual for a place in The South. But, they gave us just enough to leave us wanting more. And more, is what we got. The pumpkin pie was served crustless in a small pumpkin, which was cute, but the apple pie was much better. Baked into a small, individual pie, the apples were soft, sweet, and full of cinnamon and the buttermilk ice cream complimented the apples and the delicious pastry very well. I look forward to stopping back by here on my next trip to Savannah to try more of the food and especially the desserts.

I definitely do not understand what all the hype is about here! I would give the atmosphere four stars but the food is three stars for sure. We came here to celebrate our 2 year wedding anniversary and requested to be seated in the wine cellar(private room for two). I thought we would be having a nice romantic dinner together… only to be interrupted during dinner every two minutes by inquisitive tourists who wanted to check out the room. Terrible. Anyway, we ordered a bottle of white wine which was nice, followed by the fried oysters with green tomatoes as an appetizers which was delicious. The main courses fell apart from there. My husband ordered the chicken pot pie which was watery and bland. I ordered the ravioli which was WAY too sweet. It was so sweet that I felt like the chef was an amateur. I mean damn, this isn’t dessert. I could barely finish my meal. The mini peach pie for dessert was delicious though and it was so thoughtful that the plate was decorated and wished us for our anniversary.
