Met a friend at Vic’s(we’re both in Savannah for work) started off with dirty martini’s and I tried the Savannah Peach, a nice sweet cocktail. We shared the delicious firm crunchy fried green tomatoes, served on a smear of grits, topped with a tangy chutney and some goat cheese — it was delicious! There were four thick tomatoes so we had 2 a piece. Then we had the crawfish beignets and I could have simply eaten them all. Light flaky pastry with a flavorful crawfish filling. I felt we were ‘cheated’ since we only got 3 of those and not 4. I guess they were so good I secretly wanted more. For dessert we had the sweet potatoe brûlée and OMG was that sweet! It is served in a personal flan pan and we shared it, comes with a swirl of cream and ribbons of sweet pototato on top. I give them a 4 as the food was good. We sat at the bar so perhaps that’s why our server was just ok. The ambience is light, with live pianist, white linen table mats(as we were at the bar) and its right on the river. Will definitely go back!

My wife and I just spent 3 days in Savannah and went to several well known restaurants in the Historic District. We got to the restaurant early to enjoy a martini at the bar, just as the pianist and singer started. What a great way to start an evening. Then onto the dinner. The oysters and the shrimp & grits were very good, but the chicken livers, fried green tomatoes, and the crab cakes were all absolutely incredible. The service throughout the evening was great, especially by our waiter(TJ). This was our first visit to Savannah, but are already planning on coming back to Vic’s on our next visit.

Appetizers. Lamb ravioli and She crab soup was great. The service was slow on this past monday. For my entrée I ate braised spare ribs and the other entrée was crab stuffed flounder and we had cappuccino cheesecake and a dark cherry brownie. See pic. Love restaurant week. The little biscuit was the best.

It’s a brunch place on the 2nd floor with a little coffee shop on the 1st floor. I came here during lunch time, around 12:30 on a Saturday and the place was packed. I would recommend making reservations, that’s what I did. To start with, we got freshly baked muffins with butter and orange jam, which had zest in it and was delicious. I got the Top Shelf Bloody Mary($ 6.50), which is made with Absolute Vodka. It’s worth the price but if you don’t like a lot of pepper, ask them to reduce the amount since their Bloody Mary has more pepper than the regular ones. It was topped with pickled okra, cherry tomato and olive. For appetizer, I got the crab soup. It had a good amount of crab meat in it but the soup wasn’t warm like it should be. I would recommend getting this if you like crab. I got the Blackened Chicken Penne as my entrée. It was average, in my opinion the chicken was lacking flavor. My friend got the Hickory Smoked Pork lion Sandwich, the sauce it comes with gives the whole entrée the flavor. I don’t like my food really hot but everything I got wasn’t even warm, maybe it was this particular day. I came for restaurant week so my appetizer and entrée costed me total $ 10 plus tax, so it wasn’t a bad deal for the amount of food I got. Don’t forget to save your receipt, you get 10% off in their coffee shop if you dine in and show your receipt. There were some interesting and delicious sounding cocktails in their coffee shop like the Frozen Irish Coffee($ 7.50), which is expensive but I would like to try. They also serve Leopold’s ice cream here. I will be returning to their coffee shop in future.

I Had the fried pork chop with a peach trio dessert. Wow that was peachy for sure. Meal was awesome for this west coaster. Portions were huge and everyone really enjoyed the experience. If you come to Savannah, you better try this place or you will be missing the experience of a lifetime.

One word: Excellent. I came here per a recommendation of some co-workers. I’m not a salad person but I decided to try something different because the spiced poach pear salad sounded interesting. It was delicious! I’m glad I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try something new. The sweetness of the dressing and poached pear with the cheese was the perfect balance of savory and sweet. The shrimp and grits were excellent as well. It’s made a little different from what I’m used to but I thoroughly enjoyed them. The last thing I tried was the peach trio dessert. If you’re a peach lover like me, you HAVE to try it. The peach bread budding was to die for! The ambiance was wonderful and the service was fast and friendly. Next time I’m in Savannah, I’ll definitely stop by again!

This place was fantastic. It had been recommended to us, then while out exploring the city we stumbled upon it. I’m so glad we did! There were five of us for dinner, and we all agreed it was outstanding. I ordered the shrimp and grits(which our server told me they’ve won«Best in Savannah» for 10 years running — I didn’t even know this was a thing!) and it was beyond excellent. Our server was great, she described the food for us northerners(which we weren’t all familiar with — shrimp and *grits*? Seriously?) very well, and she was attentive without hovering and made good suggestions for cocktails, beers, wine, appetizers, and entrees. We were too stuffed to even think about dessert, unfortunately. I had never been to Savannah before, but I really enjoyed the city for the short time I was there, in no small part because of this fantastic restaurant.

Ate at Vics this weekend on a quick trip to Savannah(my favorite city) and loved it. Great historical building. The atmosphere inside is fantastic, complete with jazz piano player and old ragtime music. The crab Rangoon was to die for as was the shrimp po boy I had. Would like to come here on a romantic date sometime

My husband and I went for dinner in December the week before Christmas. We made reservations, but it wasn’t crowded at all so we didn’t really need to. The hostess first tried to seat us in a long row of tables in a high traffic area. I asked to be seated by the windows. She then took us to a table that was in the second row from the windows. When I asked about a table directly by the window, she said they were reserved. Toward the end if our meal, the tables by the windows were finally filled, and I have serious doubts that they were specifically reserved. I found it rather irritating. I’m not a seafood fan, and there were not very many non-seafood options on the menu. My husband started with the crab cake, which he enjoyed and I had the butternut bisque, which was good. I chose the chicken for my entrée. It was ok, good but nothing to write home about. It wasn’t inventive in the least. I can’t remember what my husband got, but he liked it. The service was good. Our server seemed knowledgeable, nothing to complain about there. The building history is interesting. Be sure to take a look at the map that was found in the wall when the building was renovated. Typical southern cooking on the menu, so if that’s what you like, then you will probably like this place. The food and the ambience just didn’t do much for me. And if you want a table by a window, you apparently need to specifically reserve it.

Not the best meal we had in Savannah. The atmosphere was nice, and would be good for a romantic evening. I liked the background of the piano singer coming from the bar. Their biscuits are really tasty, as were the oysters Rockefeller(had to order them… old-school throwback menu item!). The crawfish beignets could have benefited from more crawfish/less dough. Our bottle of white wine was served at barely over room temperature. My entrée is where it really fell apart. I had the mussels with linguine. The mussels were very oversized and mealy. The linguine was floating in so much watery ‘broth’ that the whole thing was bland and unappetizing. I drained some of the pasta out, but left it mostly uneaten. To be fair, my husband’s fried oyster entrée was nicely done. Overall a mixed bag, but with all the choices in Savannah, I’d go elsewhere.

I’m in visiting Savannah and wanted to try a romantic dinner on the River! Vic’s fit the bill. It’s beautiful, on the River Place walk, and has wonderful reviews. They take reservations but we went early enough(5:30pm) we were able to get in without one. Ricky, our server, was a dream! So friendly — he made our dinner, & evening!, enjoyable. Pricing: $ 8 – 14 for appetizers, salads, soup & $ 20 – 50 for entrees. Dinner for two with drinks you want to budget $ 100 – 150. Definitely worth the splurge! Pros: Gorgeous location, perfect mix of casual yet fine dining, impeccable service, & outstanding food certain to satisfy even the most discriminating of Foodies. Over half the menu is adaptable to gluten-free which is a huge plus for us gluten conscious folks! Cons: The infamous crawfish beignets which we had such high hopes for were cold in the center, which was a bit of a disappointment. Reservations needed, especially on the weekends. If you’re looking to experience a special night out, give Vic’s a try as I’m sure you will not be disappointed!

Our first time here on a Saturday night. The place was packed. The ambiance is really romantic and beautiful. We were seated immediately. If you can, request a table at the windows overlooking the river. On the other side(near the bar area), there is also a piano bar with live music. To drink, I had the Vics Rum Punch and it was just ok. For starters, we tried the much raved about, award winning crawfish beignets and we were disappointed. It came pretty quick, even before our drinks made it to the table. They were fluffy and soft but we didnt taste the fish at all. For entrees, I had the Shrimp & Grits and my husband had the Duck 2 ways. The food came out in less than 10 minutes. The server literally banged the table when he placed my food and didn’t even say sorry. It was like he was in a rush. Anyways, the Shrimp & Grits was not upto par. The grits were good but the shrimp didn’t taste fresh. They were really dry, not juicy at all. But my husband really enjoyed his Duck. It was a good size portion and yummy. From being seated to getting the cheque took only 50 minutes !! We felt rushed the whole meal. The minute we were done the biscuits, she removed our plates. Same for the whole meal. The service is terrible here. I understand ot is a busy night for them, but they should not be rushing guests especially when they charge a hefty price on the menu. This is the quickest fine dining meal we have ever had !

Went for New Years. They had a fantastic menu to choose from. 4courses including a small wedge salad, appetizer, entrée and dessert for $ 65. I didn’t like that I had to choose everything at once and felt rushed like get them in and out we need these chairs. I had fried green tomatoes and the crab stuffed flounder. Both were fantastic. My date had she crab soup and duck, since I am a shared I can say both those were delicious as well. Dessert was a chambord cheesecake and sweet potato crème brûlée. It was very crème brûlée like but delicious none the less. I was disappointed in the cheesecake because I expected more from the chambord berry description, it was just cheesecake. Drink menu was to die for. I really appreciate a good bar, where there are lots of fresh ingredients and a lot of muddling going on. I had a Vic’s mojitos and blueberry lemon drop. Wine selection was fantastic as well.

Man, I truly loved the ambience of this place… the food was great. The crawfish beignets, the crab cake was full of crab meat, the kale salad. TERRIFIC. Shrimp and grits definitely reminded of New Orleans… The biscuits were HEAVENLY. sooo flaky! yumm! But GOD, is it a south thing that service is just awful!!! 20 minutes passed by… we weren’t even asked what we’d like to drink… he just kept walking passed by us!!! but was too attentive to the other couple in the corner. was it due to the fact that they ordered a bottle of wine? We’re great tippers… and we drink a lot. lol. I actually told the manager and he comped the drinks… that was nice of him. The bill came out. ONLY $ 80!!! WTH!!! We’re used to like $ 200 dollar dinners! Overall, I do recommend this place.

3 stars for generally delicious food, a lovely interior but a bad table, and so-so servers. We had lunch reservations for 2 at 1 pm. We were seated promptly, but our table was very uncomfortable. It was part of a long bench directly against a short wall and near a large doorway. This made it difficult to enjoy the otherwise lovely interior and was extremely cramped. If you make a reservation, specify which section you’d like to sit in. After settling in, our waitress brought a tablet with the drink options. I had been considering ordering the house Pinot Noir but then remembered I had a massage after lunch and I wasn’t supposed to drink before it. I had not yet ordered the drink, but the waitress saw me looking at the wine. She promptly told me the house wine was too sweet and that I should order one of several more expensive wines. When I told her I had a massage and wasn’t supposed to drink, she continued to press me on it and mentioned it several times. We ordered the Crawfish Beneigs and each ordered the crab and oyster stew. The soup was a cream and potato base with fried oysters, crab, and shrimp. It was delicious and we both really enjoyed it. The beneigs were underwhelming, but came with an excellent Tabasco syrup. Overall, we really enjoyed our main dish and the restaurant interior generally. We did not enjoy our table or our waitress.

I was very happy with my recent experience here. I was in town for a conference and I made a reservation for 10 originally. I showed up with my group of 13 + 1 to come later to the restaurant. Keep in mind that it was almost completely full. They seated the 10 that they could at the table they reserved for us. They informed us at the front desk that the restaurant was full and they could not seat the other 3 with us, and they would have to sit at the bar until a table opened up. 2 minutes later, the other group of 3 was seated in the restaurant. They did a great job being flexible with the reservation and accommodating everything that came up. Thank you! As for the dining, the food was very good. Our waiter was very knowledgable about the menu and prompt with everything. We even had the 1 person show up late to our table, about 30 minutes after everyone else, and the waiter somehow magically got all our food to come out at the exact same time shortly after the last 1 ordered, and they were all hot. I had the scallops and a cup of soup and really enjoyed it. They were very good. Not overcooked at all. Everyone in the table seemed to enjoy their meals. When I came into the restaurant, we can in through the coffee shop on the bottom level and I was worried that the actual restaurant itself wouldn’t be up to par, but when we got out the elevator 3 floors up, it was completely different and I was very happy with the atmosphere of the restaurant. I don’t give many 5 star reviews, but the ability of the hostesses to seat a group with 4 extra people in a completely full restaurant, the waiter being able to get our table of 10’s food to all come out at the same time despite 1 person coming in and ordering 30 minutes after the other 9, the caliber of the food, and décor of the restaurant warrant it. No complaints here. I can’t think of a reason to take off a star. I would definitely recommend Vics to anyone I knew that was in Savannah looking for a nice seafood restaurant on the water.

How can you not love a place that serves beer, coffee, AND ice cream? We were walking along the river and decided to stop in for a minute to avoid the rain and warm up a bit. They serve Leopold’s Ice Cream and several local beers. Our group got some cups of vanilla, chocolate, and chocolate raspberry ice cream. I sampled a few of the local beers before deciding upon the Sweetwater 420 from Atlanta. The ice cream was rich and creamy and the beer was very tasty.

Had lunch here during my and my husband’s vacation. We went light this time, opting to split a few things instead of getting separate entrees. Here’s what we got: FRIEDOYSTERS — First of all, when we told our server we were going to share our meal, they were very kind and split this entrée onto two separate plates without us even asking. I thought that was nice. The entrée came with fries and coleslaw. Both oysters and fries were good; slaw tasted decent — kind of reminded me of Long John Silver slaw, but I like their slaw so that was okay. JUMBOLUMPCRABCAKE — This is not your ordinary crab cake. This had no breading on it at all. It was all crab, put in a «cake» mold and baked. It was delicious. Very minimal mayo keeping it all together, but it worked so well. If you are tired of ordering crab cakes that turn out to be mostly filler, definitely order this one. GRITS — I had such great luck with the grits I had at dinner the night before, so wanted to try another. This was a side item so it didn’t go all out with the Tasso gravy, and there was no shrimp on top. But it had a nice cheese flavor. More bland that its entrée counterpart, but that is to be expected. I did like it for what it was — plain cheesy grits. No frills, but still tasty. Just an FYI for people who are curious. the coffee shop is located on the bottom floor with a River Street entrance. The main part of the restaurant is located at the Bay Street entrance. There is also a little souvenir shop on the second floor if you are so inclined. All in all, good lunch. Nice, elegant atmosphere. I think dinner here would be a real treat!

Came here for the view and left with a rave impression of the restaurant due to its food, but even more so because of its fabulous service! Our server, who I wish I could recall his name!, was hands down a real gem to be served by at lunch with my girlfriends on our pit stop in Savannah and way up to Charleston. A delightful afternoon view of River Street with a window table, we were welcomed promptly and our Open Table reservation request for a window view was granted. A quiet restaurant at that time of day 1PM for lunch on a Thursday, we had some delightful cocktails — Sangria was tasty and refreshing, bloody Mary was fun. Their cocktail menu is on a neat iPad on the table to browse. How clever and neat! Fried Green Tomatoes for an appetizer — can’t beat the size and yummy chutney w/balsamic drizzle on top. I can taste it now! My entrée — the Crobb Salad — was delicious and plentiful! Crab was fresh and lots of it. Friend had friend green tomato BLT and is still raving about it! Our server recommended items and pairings and was so pleasant to interact with. He was a very kind man and made our visit to Vic’s that much more enjoyable. We will return. Go for the view and much more.
