My story is a long one, but I“ll keep it short. I followed Michael here from his previous salon. I was his client for about 4 years before moving to Atlanta for cosmetology school. When I was living in Atlanta, I was platinum blonde and decided to go brunette. When I moved back to Savannah 3 months ago, I decided I wanted to go back to blonde, which I knew wasn’t an easy task. I contacted Michael and gave him details as to what shape my hair was in and such. I went in for a consultation and chatted with him for 45 minutes. I went back for my appointment the next week and he decided he was going to take me back to blonde from a VERY dark brown in ONE step. This usually requires 2 or 3 appointments, but I quote him, «I wouldn’t do this with my other clients»(the owner of the salon even suggested he NOT do this). Long story short, I went home with my hair wet, FALLINGOUT dark yellow/orange spots, and brown spots sporadically around my head where he missed applying the lightener. Without his help I’ve treated it myself and got it somewhat healthy but it won’t be back to normal for months. He didn’t tell me it was falling out until I got home and had a clump of it in my hair, to which my boyfriend reacted and instantly called the salon. Michael tried to fix it, and I will give him that. He fit me in the next day for a treatment that essentially didn’t do much. That was his only suggestion, so I had to do my own research on how to fix the breakage. I ended up returning to the salon he was at previously, where they promptly evened out the color and saved my hair from continuing to fall out. Lesson learned, don’t go to a stylist who rushes through the process. Other than Michael, the salon is beautiful, bright, and everyone is very friendly.

This is my new go to salon in Savannah. I heard about this little gem when my stylist, Michael, moved his services here. What a well kept secrete– you’re lucky I’m sharing it with you!!! I must really like you… My first impression was great! There is plenty of free parking which his old salon did not have. I mean who is running out to a meter with color in their hair?!? Not this gal! The salon is bright, clean, sophisticated and welcoming. When I walked in the charming young lady who greeted me was very kind to help me get comfortably situated while I waited briefly for my appointment. Michael is always on time which is one of the many reasons I am his loyal client. Michael is the only person on the planet who doesn’t give me an anxiety attack when talking about cutting my long hair. He is very understanding to my scissor phobia and makes me feel at ease every time I sit in his chair. I left with a stunning hair cut and the biggest smile on my face. He knows just how to make a gal feel special! Michael is the sweetest man on the face of this planet. This is no exaggeration. I have plenty of great salons in Chicago I can go to but I’d rather wait until I’m back in Savannah and have my favorite stylist(and people!) cut my hair. Micheal– you are the man and the best stylist I’ve ever had. Xoxo

I see that I am not the only Michael Whitehead fan. I’ve been going to him for four years and am thankful to have found him. I have thick hair that gets really heavy and he always lightens it up in a cute fun way. He has been on the road styling high profile celebritees and owned a salon in the Carribbean, I’m happy to know he is done with all of that so I don’t have to search for someone new.

Michael Whitehead is amazing! He is the only person I trust with my hair. He has been cutting and coloring my hair for over 2 years. I have always been happy with the result. I highly recommend him.

I have been going to Teresa at Towne since it has opened. I love this salon. Not only is everyone nice(no snootiness from anyone– they are always too busy) It has a professional atmosphere that welcomes. The owner has poured her heart into this building and restored it. Teresa is fantastic and all of my family go to her, even my twin six year olds which believe me when I say they are a hand full. I have always been complemented on my hair and my cuts. I will always refer to this awesome salon!

I recently moved to Savannah and was trepidatious about finding a new hair stylist. I was fortunate to have found Hannah at Towne. She listened to me during the consultation, then made recommendations based on her experience to meet my aesthetic goal. Hannah delivered 100%; my cut and highlights are superior. I will return — thank you Hannah.

My husband and I visited Towne a couple of weeks ago to see Hannah. My husband had decided to cut his long hair into a short, manageable style and Hannah executed the cut quickly and flawlessly. It looks terrific on him and I like it better than ever. Everyone at this salon was warm, relaxed, and friendly. There was absolutely no air of pretentiousness whatsoever. Furthermore, the price of the cut was extremely reasonable when compared to other downtown salons. We’ll certainly make another appointment with Hannah at Towne the next time we’re in Savannah!

i don’t know about seth, from the other reviews, but corie is really, really, good. i’ve lived in savannah for 9 years and finally found someone to cut my hair that does an awesome job. before corie, i used to wait to get my hair cut in dallas whener i visited my family because every experience in savannah was just so-so. i have long, naturally wavy hair, and she knows exactly how to cut and style it. in the past i wouldn’t let stylist style it curly, or wavy, becuase i always looked like i walked out of the 80’s when they were finished with me, but i gave her a chance and it looked amazing! she also has done beautiful color with my hair.

I followed Seth to Towne several years ago. I have never been someone who is a «regular». I like to try new things, but more importantly only get my hair cut 2 times a year or so. Every time I go back to Seth, it’s like I’ve been in his chair every week. I never get the feeling that I am less welcome because I am there so rarely and he always helps me open up to try new things that will stand the test of time. I’ve strayed occasionally(mainly when I’m traveling) and always find that I am happiest at Towne with Seth. He always tells me I can come back if the cut is not working and I’ve never had to. I’m always happy the first time. It feels like a casual, neighborhood place where I’m the most important person in the room every time.

I love this place! I’ve been going regularly since they opened. It’s situated in a cozy cottage-style home. The atmosphere is airy and open. They recenlty started offering human hair extensions. I followed a stylist there initially. However, I opted for a new stylist once when she was all booked up. Now, I’ve been going to him for at least 2 years. I’ve never gotten a bad hair cut here, seriously. I do have fine hair though, not the curly hair mentioned by the other reivewer. Also, Seth is not my stylist. I had a crazy idea to put red streaks in my hair recently. Once the color processed, it wasn’t as bright as I had hoped. I lived with it for a few days and called my stylist. I went back for a re-coloring a week later at no-charge. Now that’s what I call service!

I had high hopes for this place since it’s a bumble & bumble affiliate and had a convenient location. When I made my appointment I requested someone who was good with curly hair and was set up with Seth. Yowza. It took two haircuts elsewhere to fix his mistakes, and each time the stylists asked if I’d cut it myself! I paid upwards of $ 65 and spent nearly two hours in a snooty salon for that?! Normally I would not directly name names, but on a different date he also gave an awful cut to a friend(who has perfect straight hair — how can you mess that up?). Maybe we both caught him on off-days, or maybe he should put down the scissors and try another field? There are many other salons in Savannah, so I’d recommend avoiding or using caution at Towne. If you’re specifically looking for a bumble salon, try Greener Grass.
