Wayback Burgers is one of my favorite places to get a great burger. My personal favorite is the Philly burger with fried mushrooms and a large side of fries.

Well it was clean so there’s one star. The chili cheese dog was horrid… The cheese was oily plastic fake cheese. What very little chili that was on it was all bean and not much flavor. The Philly burger was bland and the green pepper tasted old. The homemade chips were so hard they were inedible. My husband’s fries were the only decent thing. It took awhile to get our food and my whole plate was barely warm. Did I miss something? Has this place been open long? Maybe a surprise visit from the owners or secret shoppers. Anything to improve food and service or they should shutter the doors. Sorry people I hate giving lousy reviews but this was the worst food we have encountered in awhile.

I liked it. The burgers were good. Much superior quality than fast foods. I see some people complaining about the prices. But I have known to go to Wendy’s and get a big burger combo for my husband and pay $ 10. About the same price here but he got much more. So no complaints there for me. It was four of us and each tried a different burger, no complaints from anyone. The chili cheese fries were pretty decent and as a side order was enough for two of us to share. Finally the kids enjoyed their milkshakes.

Well, I guess to describe this place in a single sentence, it would be, «After we paid for, waited for, got our food and ate, we both wondered why we hadn’t stopped at the Burger King we drove by to get into the mall where this place is hidden. « Our food would have been cheaper, more quickly served by friendlier staff, and believe it or not eaten in a more comfortable environment! Why, you ask? Let me recount the ways: first, our two burger combos cost me almost $ 16 and that was on this supposed super sale. Second, my fries were literally ALL itty-bitty-little pieces which had they had them in the restaurant would have required me to use a fork to be able to dip them in the ketchup, they were that small. The onion rings were not hot and were greasy too! Thirdly(is that a word?), the one TV was set on the Duke/Wake Forest game… Really…this at the exact time the UGA/GaTech and Clemson/USCar games were on? Why, pray tell… The staff couldnt have cared less, it turns out… AND the owners apparently are too cheap to pay for enough channels to show the local important games AND while this used to be a REAL sports bar with tons of TV’s(called Locos) the owners now only have ONE small TV. Need I keep going? I could, but I won’t… Say more, or be going back!

This was my first visit to Wayback Burgers, and probably my last. I would place their food quality midway between Wendy’s and Five Guys. The quality of the food was good, but not good enough for the price I paid. Twelve dollars for a cooked to order cheesy burger(grilled cheese double patty burger) with bacon, french fries and a soft drink. The burger was greasy, with frozen french fries alongside. Considering the price I paid and methods of preparation, I have to compare them to Five Guys. Five Guys burgers taste better and their fries(fresh, not frozen) are superior in every way. I think the Wayback food items may have tasted better if the price was a little lower. Not a bad place to eat, but not a great place either in my opinion.

what an awesome spot! they have a great veggie burger, fun staff, clean shoppe, and crazy milkshakes. my kid got a beef jerky milkshake. I was very impressed by the way this is basically a five guys that cares about vegetarians and doesn’t need 10 people to run the line. food cooked fresh right in front of me. I asked if they used a particular brand veggie patty and they said it’s in house… that’s cool. Burger King uses Morningstar, a lot of burger places just mash up some beans and toss it on a flat top. this was really good, I’ll definitely be back. price seemed steep until the second bite, and again — clearly they’re looking to put a dent in five guys. they are under a year old, but one of 80 in the nation, so I hope they stick around. really nice location — in the eco friendly self sustaining strip mall across from Oglethorpe. love that strip mall. great job, ladies! add a spot to your ticket so I can tip you, you deserved it. these three ladies held it down and really worked with me on my wacky toppings, no rolled eyes, no «we can’t do that», just plain«there’s no button for that but I can do this and this and you’ll actually save a dollar. aces!

Yes, the burgers were good but so pricey for a burger joint. $ 6 for a tiny kids meal… mehhhh. Might be back if I’m really craving a burger but honestly Cook Out’s burgers are just as good for half the price.

This was fast food service at a sit down restaurant price. My husband and I both got a cheeseburger and the Irish nachos. The burgers tasted very good, I just didn’t like that it was bathed in ketchup. I like ketchup, but I don’t like having a ketchup waterfall dripping from my burger! The Irish nachos were fine. Their chips are way too hard, which made them really unpleasant to eat. I feel like I could have dumped a can of chili on some store bought potato chips and it would have been better. We ordered a plain hamburger for my youngest son because he hates cheese, and his burger came with cheese on it. They took away his entire plate so he didn’t even get to eat his fries while he waited for them to cook a new burger. It’s not easy for a 5 year old to wait for his food AGAIN when everyone around him already has their food. Not long after leaving, my husband and I both felt a little sick, and, well, after many trips to the bathroom, we won’t be going back to this place.

This place is just a deluxe Wendy’s(I love Wendy’s but for the price of this place I could’ve saved the trip). Everything is fresh, so the quality is there but for the taste and I price I would rather go to five guys or Wendy’s. If your stomach has a low tolerance for grease I would skip the burger, since it is fresh meat it can be a little bit greasy. Overall good, not great food. It’s the worlds greatest fast food place without the drive thur.

We went Sunday at noon. No wait and food took about 10 minutes to arrive after we ordered. The food is cooked to order, so I can see how the wait may increase if they are super busy. Food was pretty good; typical hamburger joint. Chicken tenders were surprisingly tasty. Everything was piping hot. Staff was very friendly. The only negatives were the restaurant has a slight funky smell which is a little off putting. The milkshake was good but shouldn’t be served in the blender cup. It’s not appealing to see the inside of the metal cup that is scratched up pretty badly. Overall, we’d return.

The cheesy burger is excellent would highly recommend it! Chili cheese fries were good too. I enjoyed the patty melt but I would order it next time with no sauce. Would recommend ordering the sauce on the side so you can gauge how much you want, because they definitely load it up. Other than that we will definitely come back again.

I gave this place one star because they got our order wrong 4 times and got my burger wrong 5 times. We thought this place would be good, how can you screw up a burger, well, let me count the ways! Couldn’t even try the burger because after 5 attempts they still had it wrong, how hard is no ketchup??? and the fries weren’t great. Not even good… maybe passable. My brother enjoyed his burger after 4 attempts to get it right, they did, they broke the code on the cheese, bacon, lettuce, ketchup burger. Will never go to this place again, will stick with 5 Guys from now on…

Treated my daughter to Wayback, after eating here before, hoping it would be better than before… I was wrong! This time we waited 19 minutes after we placed our order before we realized the people before and after us had gotten their food. My daughter was wondering if they forgot about us. As I was looking at the employees behind the counter, one person acknowledged me by saying«we’re just waiting on your fries» and«someone was supposed to tell you that»! I told her«no one told us anything» and the employees were just standing around doing nothing! Then they brought our burgers out… without the fries. Remember, they said they were just waiting on our fries! Our fries were delivered 10 minutes after our burgers came out. Shouldn’t your burger & fries be served at the same time?!? Again, another disappointing visit. Even overheard 2 separate tables talking about how SLOW they are!

Juicy real burger joint. This is the kind of burger place found in the 50s(not that I really know) but nowhere now. Burgers are freshly cooked to order on a grill with a weight on top. I like the rodeo double cheese with 2 onion rings and a sweet bbq sauce. Tons of made to order real ice cream shakes. Way back is a chain with mom & pop touches.

Service was good, food was OK. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t awesome. They do have a military discount which is pretty sweet. No complaints just not anything spectacular for the price. Everyone in my family ordered a different burger and they were hit when they come out.

Ok we went in not knowing what to expect. The place is clean and staff is friendly. Food is good but too expensive in my opinion for what you get. There are much better and cheaper burger places in town. Probably won’t go back, will go to Five Guys instead as it’s much better quality for your money.

I happen to run across this place by accident because of a traffic accident the other day. My impression of this place is that’s as big as a postage stamp. With that said I think this place is has to-go written all over it. Now as for the food my in-house food critic(my daughter) said this place is a much better version of Five Guys. Their burgers and fries were a lot better then any of us expected given I had very low expectations upon walking in the door. If you’re in the area and want a reasonably priced meal then give this place a try.

My wife and I noticed a «new» burger joint and couldn’t help but try it. I had the Carolina burger(chili & coleslaw with cheese) and my wife had the Rodeo burger(Onion rings &BBQ sauce with cheese). There was a little bit of a wait for our food but nothing major. It was worth the wait and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of meat being used for the burger itself. Very tender and flavorful. Their onion rings are also really good. I’m a NOT a fan of predominantly sweet batters so this was a nice break from typical fast food side fare. Next time I am definitely going to try the«Burger of the Month» or their awesome looking«Irish Nachos.» It is about the same price as Five Guys but has way more menu options/variety. Its worth a visit!

Tried a «new place» today and couldn’t say more than just OK… Sorry, but unlike the first review, Five Guys is far superior in all ways. There is a lot of meat on the burgers(two patties) but having said that, they taste like plain, fried hamburger, no seasoning, not even a little bit of browning on the meat. Also higher priced then Five Guys. I did enjoy their house– made chips and the onion rings are good, but when your name is Wayback Burgers, perhaps you should have more then just an OK burger.
