1. excellent service 2. vegan/gluten free options 3. AMAZING pizza(wood fired) 4. prices are great($ 7 – 10 per pizza) 5. OPEN7DAYS A WEEK… this is probably the best part because most restaurants in this area are closed at least 1 – 3 days per week which is a bummer for all of us locals who have to eat ;) YAY for new/hip place in Southwest Mi!

Great little dive at a roadside fruit stand. I enjoyed a goodfellas pizza with pepperoni, meatballs and ricotta cheese and it was excellent. My wife had the«I don’t know what to call this» wrap which was chicken, hot sauce, cole slaw, spinach and ranch in a tortilla. I don’t know how that was because she wouldn’t share it with me because she liked it too much. This is a great very casual place to stop after a visit to Warren Dunes. We’ll be back! Also, our ten and eleven year old kids also loved their pizza and wrap.

The last thing I really wanted to east after hanging at the Dunes on a hot day was a flatbread pizza. Glad my son talked me into this one though. Herb & Crust shares an elongated storefront that peddles fruits, veggies, plants and your run of the mill basic camping needs. H&C’s menu isn’t much. They have 3 – 4 wraps/sandwiches and a half dozen or so flatbread pizza’s, although they’ll make you whatever you want, given they have the ingredients. That brings us to the pizza. My son had the cheese and pepperoni and I had the margherita. Both were 10″ and in flatbread speak, that ain’t much when you’re hungry like the wolf. I will say this though. I’m sitting back at home typing up this review, some 7 hours later… and I can still taste the margherita in my mouth. It was absolutely phenomenal. My kiddo dug his pizza as well. This place might have to go hand in hand with future Dune trips. Cool place. Cheers!

Delicious wood-fired pizza. They have great vegan, vegetarian, and non-veg options. The vegan pizza rivals any vegan pizza in Chicago. A must stop if you’re in the area.(Next to a fruit stand-so you can stock up on local produce, too!)

Hidden gem! We were at the dunes and on our way out wanted to grab some decent quality food — no Popeye’s, Taco Bell or Burger King garbage which is also at the Sawyer, MI exit. Herb & Crust is right on Red Arrow Hwy near the entrance to the dunes, the location could not be more convenient for beach-goers. Side note: if Herb & Crust is successful enough they should consider offering delivery to the beach, that would be killer! We looked at their small, but unique menu and decided to get some sandwiches and split a couple pizzas amongst our group. I really enjoyed the pepperoni pesto sandwich, the ingredients were all fresh and of high quality. The side of cole slaw wasn’t bad, and the chips appeared to be a natural/minimally processed variety which was a pleasant surprise. We also got a couple Sicilian pizzas, which were hand made right in front of us, fired in the big stone oven, and in our hands in less than 5 minutes. The pizza itself was surprisingly tasty. You could taste the different cheeses and how they blended together nicely along with the quality pepperoni and sausage. My only minor complaint would be the lack of sauce, but I personally like a lot of sauce so it might just me being picky. Better food usually comes at slightly higher prices, which is more than fair to me. I believe the pizza’s were $ 9 and the sandwiches around 7 or 8. Either way, if you aren’t that hungry split a pizza and pay ~$ 5 per person, which is not bad at all. They also have a fruit and veg market next door, and sell ice cream and local meats inside the store too. It seems they have an emphasis on quality and locality, which is very nice to see in a more rural area like that. A very good experience at Herb & Crust, I’d recommend it to anyone looking for quality food near the Warren dunes. Skip the chains at the truckstop, Herb & Crust is definitely worth it!

Loved this little gem! We went with another family & had a total of 5 young children so the fact that the seating was outdoors was ideal. The pizza was fresh and they have some pretty interesting combinations that I’ve never seen before.(We got the Sunday Brunch, Sriracha coleslaw, & a couple Sicilians) The greek salad was good & had a strong vinegary tang to it. My daughter actually liked our Sicilian more than her kids meal pizza. They had some gorgeous doughnuts for sale from a nearby shop that were kinda«meh» because they tasted like they were baked. But overall, so happy with a kid-friendly place so close to Warren Dunes with good food at a reasonable price!

Attached to a local harvest fruit stand and flowers, they are a friendly staff with bonkers delicious food. Please don’t drive by this place, it is worth the stop. Open every day 12 – 8! Wish I lived closer to have it more often!

My wife and I love the produce we get from the Local Harvest MI fruit stand. We like to stop by anytime we are near Warren Dunes. This time there was a lovely little surprise named Herb & Crust at the same location. We had to check it out and were very surprised. Not only are their friendly and helpful employees but they have a nice menu with several sandwiches and fire oven pizzas. Create your own or go with a suggestion, they put their great produce right on the pizza with love! A great selection of drinks by bottle too always helps. Definitely worth a stop in and they have only been open 12 days. We got the Chiky pizza and substituted the mushrooms with fresh asparagus, what a win! We will be back…
