We almost asked to be let out of our reservation so we could find a place with beds that are more than just sharp springs bound in light cotton. We made the beds slightly more pleasant by folding up multiple layers of sheets, but we both still woke up sore. The problem with this Inn is that it feels like a budget No-Tell Motel, albeit with less seedy clientele(mostly older French Canadians), but add standard to higher prices. Yes, you’re on the beach, but everything around here is on a beach. The wood paneling suggested age without charm, and the room only had small desk lamps, making for a very dark few days. The staff seemed pleasant enough, but that doesn’t really make up for the red Solo cup feel of the place(and yes, we were left red Solo cups for drinking rather than glasses). This is a budget place charging market rates. Ew.

for $ 175 a night it can’t be beat for location. The rooms are well kept and a blast from the past(I forgot about wood paneling) We were there this past weekend with temps in the 90’s and humidity in the ~140% range…(disclaimer: I’m not a meteorologist). Protip: I would suggest brining an extra fan. This is not a place I would suggest for an intimate weekend.(You’re going to want to keep the shades open for the breeze). But if you want a beach-bum kind of weekend on an area of the beach that is by no means crowded-it’s great. Of note, if you’re brining kids there were no lifegaurds in this part of the beach.

While I’ll tell you how good this place is, I hope everyone doesn’t show up, so I can still get in. It is a clean, comfortable inn on one of New England’s nicest cold-water beaches. The only things that knocks it out of 5-star territory are the absence of air conditioning and the propensity of ashtrays and the smokers who use them.
